Ola Electric marks sales of more than ₹600 crores worth of Ola S1 scooters in a single day

On Wednesday, Ola Electric reported that the company has sold Ola S1 scooters worth more than ₹600 crores, a sale has been opened by the electric scooter company for people who reserved it in advance.

In the first 24 hours, ola has run to sell 4 scooters every second, the price of the scooter is said to be more than what the entire 2W industry sells in a day. “India is committing to EVs and rejecting petrol! We sold 4 scooters/sec at peak & sold scooters worth 600Cr+ in a day! Today is the last day, the purchase will shut at midnight. So lock in this introductory price and buy on the Ola app before we sell out!” Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal while celebrating the milestone wrote on Twitter.

The purchase window is going to be closed today, the customer can purchase their Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters, until midnight tonight only if they have registered them already. At Rs. 2,999 EMIs for the Ola S1 starts and for EMIs for Ola, S1 Pro starts at Rs. 3,199, the delivery month is likely to communicate to you at the time of making the advance payment.

It has also been confirmed by Ola that the exact date of delivery on dispatch of the buyer’s Ola Scooter from the Ola Future factory will be told to the customer. The new scooter has a driving range of up to 181 km for the S1 Pro and a top speed of up to 115kmph.

Ola Electric Scooter registers a record of 1 lakh bookings within a day

Bengaluru-based ride-sharing firm Ola has registered an all-time high record of 1 lakh bookings within the first 24 hours of its opening. It has gained the tag of the “most pre-booked scooter in the world.”

The co-founder and CEO of the company, Bhavish Aggarwal stated, “I am thrilled by the tremendous response from customers across India for our first electric vehicle. The unprecedented demand is a clear indicator of shifting consumer preferences to EVs.”

The CEO continued saying that it was a “huge step forward” in their goal of transitioning the world to sustainable mobility. In addition, he thanked the consumers who had booked the scooter and welcomed them in the “EV revolution.”

Reportedly, to make the Ola Electric product largely accessible, the price of Ola Scooter will be set aggressively. The mobility company will disclose its first EV’s features and actual price in the upcoming days.

The Ola Scooter will get manufactured in India at the Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu. The Futurefactory’s first phase is almost completed and will be operationalized soon. A total of 10 million vehicles annually will be produced by the year 2022, making it the world’s largest two-wheeler factory.

According to Rush Lane, the scooter has not been given a brand name publicly yet but the firm had filed three trademarks for three names known as Series S, S1 and S1 Pro.

Ola Electric scooters open reservation at Rs 499

Earlier in the day the Ola company for Ola Electric scooters has opened reservations for its electric scooter and said that customers can reserve their Ola Scooter with a refundable deposit of Rs 499.

Ola said that those who reserve their scooter on olaelectric.com will get priority delivery, and it will reveal the features and price in the coming days.

Chairman Bhavish Aggarwal quoted that, “With its incredible performance, technology, and design along with aggressive pricing, it will help accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility. India has the opportunity and potential to become the world leader in EVs and at Ola, we are proud to lead this charge.”

The company on Bhavish’s decision said that Bhavish has led the firm with a spun off from ride-hailing firm Ola, is setting up a 500-acre factory in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri, aiming to make 10 million vehicles a year at full capacity.

Ola Electric is valued at over a billion dollars, with the backing of investors such as Matrix Partners, Tiger Global Management, and SoftBank, among others. It has raised $500 million from Warburg Pincus and Temasek, giving early backers Tiger and Matrix a part exit from their stake in the company too.

The shares of Ola electric registered in the Month of April have to plan to register and invest up to $2 billion over the next five years with leading its charging ports over 400 cities and is all set to plan about 1 lakh charging stations with the help of the partners into Ola firm, as reported by MoneyControl.
