Zydus launches Semaglutide Injection in reusable pen device in India

Zydus Lifesciences has introduced Semaglutide Injection in India, utilising an innovative reusable multi-dose pen device. The launch follows the patent expiry and approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for treating Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Obesity.

The novel pen device, offered under the brand names SEMAGLYN, MASHEMA, and ALTERME, allows patients to administer various dose strengths from a single pen, enhancing convenience and adherence while reducing therapy costs. The Semaglutide injection will be available in a 15mg/3ml cartridge, manufactured at Zydus Biotech Park, Ahmedabad, with an average monthly treatment cost of approximately ₹2,200.
