Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has commissioned its 7th MV/EHV cable production line at Vadodara, utilising advanced CCV technology to enhance its manufacturing capabilities.

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL), a leading Indian manufacturer of Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) power cables, has successfully commissioned its 7th MV/EHV power cable production line at its Vadodara facility in Gujarat. The new line utilises Continuous Catenary Vulcanisation (CCV) technology, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing capacity expansion and technology upgradation efforts.

The commissioning of this new line enhances DPIL’s integrated manufacturing capabilities in the MV and EHV power cable segment. This strategic expansion aims to cater to various sectors, including utilities, renewable energy projects, industrial infrastructure, metro rail, smart cities, data centres, transmission projects, and underground power distribution networks.

DPIL has also announced that three additional MV/EHV cable lines are currently in various stages of installation and commissioning. These lines are expected to become operational before 31st March 2027, further bolstering the company’s production capacity.

The company is focused on establishing itself as a leader in the EHV and MV power cable industry by expanding its manufacturing capacities and strengthening its technology capabilities. DPIL is positioning itself to take advantage of the anticipated multi-decade investment cycle in power infrastructure, driven by factors such as renewable energy expansion, growth in power transmission and distribution infrastructure, and the development of smart grids and underground cabling in urban areas.

The CCV technology employed in the new production line is globally recognised for its advantages in manufacturing MV and EHV XLPE power cables. Key benefits include superior insulation quality, lower partial discharge levels, enhanced electrical performance, improved reliability, and the capability to manufacture higher voltage grades.

Industry trends indicate strong structural demand growth for MV and EHV power cables, both in India and globally. Factors such as renewable energy integration, underground transmission systems, and grid modernisation initiatives are expected to drive this growth. India, in particular, is anticipated to remain one of the fastest-growing power infrastructure markets due to rapid urbanisation, industrialisation, and renewable energy expansion.

Commenting on the development, Ms. Nivedita Pandya, Vice President, Engineering and Projects, stated, “The commissioning of our 7th MV/EHV CCV Line marks another important milestone in Diamond Power’s growth journey. The Company is making significant investments in advanced technologies and capacity expansion to strengthen its position in the high-growth MV and EHV Power Cable segment.”
