Yesterday, this adage proved to be true at Raj Bhavan in Madhya Pradesh when the name of Sampatiya Uikey was called by the announcer to take the oath of cabinet minister.

56-year-old Uikey is a prominent tribal woman leader of Madhya Pradesh BJP. She has also been a Rajya Sabha MP, her tenure ended only a few months ago. Along with this, Sampatya Uikey’s political career went through a lot of struggles. She has experienced poverty very closely.

After this, she contested the election of Sarpanch from Gram Panchayat Tikarwara in 1999 and registered a big victory. From here she enters politics, after which she never looks back.

Sampatiya Uikey, who studied till higher secondary despite poverty, was born in a very ordinary family. Even after marriage in 1990 at the age of 23, life went through difficulties. Before coming into politics, she used to support her family by working as a daily wage labourer in the brick kilns of Mandla. After that, she has also taught children at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Tikarwada for some time.

She has seen many ups and downs in life at a young age. Her husband Sanjay Uikey died of a heart attack in August 2013. This year, the party had given him ticket from Mandla seat, but at that time she had to face defeat. Sampatiya Uikey, mother of four children, always keeps a low profile and simplicity. His elder daughter Shraddha Suman Kurveti is also the Sarpanch of Tikarwara.

Held District Panchayat President Post thrice

Sampatiya Uikey has also been a Rajya Sabha MP and District Panchayat President thrice. From 2003 to 2017, she has also been the District Panchayat President for three consecutive times. After that, in 2017, she was elected as a member of Rajya Sabha. In the 2023 Assembly elections, he has defeated Dr. Ashok Marskole of Congress from Mandla Assembly seat by a huge margin. Sampatia Uike

Sampatia Uike, who took oath as a cabinet minister, is the MLA from Mandla assembly seat. Sampatia Uike has also been an MP from Rajya Sabha. Her political career has passed amidst many struggles. She used to work as a laborer before politics, after which she contested the election of Sarpanch from Gram Panchayat Tikarwara, and won. Apart from this, Uike has also been a Rajya Sabha MP and District Panchayat President thrice.

Nirmala Bhuria

Tribal leader Nirmala Bhuria has been awarded the post of cabinet minister in the Mohan Yadav government. This time she has become MLA for the 5th time from Petlawad seat. Before this, she was made Minister of State for Health in Shivraj government. The big political fact associated with Nirmala is that she had given victory to Kamal (Lotus : Election Symbol of BJP) for the first time in Jhabua-Alirajpur district. Her father late Dilip Singh Bhuria was a veteran Congress leader and apart from being an MP for 18 years, he held many important positions. Nirmala had won from Congress ticket for the first time in 1993. But veteran Dilip Singh Bhuria became disillusioned with Congress due to the demand of tribal chief minister against the then Digvijay Singh government. After this, father and daughter left Congress and joined BJP. She was an MLA from 1998 to 2003. She faced defeat in 2008, then won in 2013 and faced defeat in 2018. Krishna Gaur

Krishna Gaur, daughter-in-law of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, has also got a place in Mohan Yadav’s cabinet. She has taken oath as Minister of State (Independent Charge). She has been elected MLA for the second consecutive time. She defeated Girish Sharma of Congress by 359 votes. Krishna Gaur is very active in her constituency. She created the relationship of daughter-in-law with the elders and also created the relationship of sister-in-law and sister with the young men and women. She got direct benefit from this. Before becoming Minister of State, she was the Mayor of Bhopal from 2009 to 2014. In 2005, she also took over the post of Chairperson of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Corporation.

Radha Singh

Radha Singh, MLA from Chitrangi assembly seat, has also been made a minister. She has inherited politics. Her father-in-law Jagannath Singh has held a ministerial post in BJP, and has also been the Education Minister. After him Radha Singh came into politics. She has also been the former District Panchayat President. Jagannath Singh has a big name among the tribals. There are mostly tribal voters in Chitrangi assembly seat. 6 First Timer MLAs become Ministers

After taking oath as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav on Wednesday took his first major decision and ordered a ban on the use of loudspeakers in religious and public places. Earlier in the day, BJP MLA from Ujjain South Mohan Yadav took oath as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. After becoming the Chief Minister, the CM took the first decision to ban the use of loudspeakers at religious places.

The 58-year-old leader was administered the oath of office by Governor Mangubhai Patel at the Lal Parade Ground in the state capital Bhopal. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh also had darshan of Mahakal in Ujjain on Wednesday.

The order dated December 13, 2023, states that efforts will be made to remove loudspeakers from temples and mosques after proper communication and coordination with religious leaders. A list of religious places which do not follow the rules will be prepared.

Who is Mohan Yadav?

58-year-old Mohan Yadav started his political career from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1984. He has also been a member of the Sangh. MP government plans to introduce Bhagavad Gita in colleges

Madhya Pradesh government plans on bringing the moralities of Bhagavad Gita into the curriculum of the colleges. As an elective subject for the second year students across the 1306 colleges present in the state, from the next academic year.

Mohan Yadav the state higher education minister had said. That the initiative is being taken to imbibe ethics and the skills of management in their lives. When he was asked for a comment. He also said that “The purpose…is to make students understand the values of life. Under the New Education Policy, students should get modern education. As well as learn about the rich Indian history. The Gita and the Ramayana are not only religious books but teach us values of life.”

He further went on to comment about how the Gita is going to teach the students. The various qualities needed to lead a proper healthy life, lead a fearless life etc. Madhya Pradesh can’t be accredited with the change in curriculum as other BJP ruled states. Such as Karnataka, Gujarat etc have also taken similar steps in the direction.

Bhagavad Gita in colleges

The officials of the Madhya Pradesh Higher education department make it clear that the syllabus committee had also considered the teaching. That famous personalities like Annie Besant had received and would try to incorporate them into the syllabus. And that none of the shlokas was to be added to the syllabus. They reiterated the topic of how the Gita is needed to make the youth of the country mentally strong.

The state government also intends to make philosopher Chanakya’s works available. As an optional course for third-year college students. In 2021 the poems written by renowned poet Tulsidas known as Shri Ramacharitmanas were also incorporated into the syllabus. As an elective subject for the first-year students.

Questions were asked to the Chief Minister on why was the Bhagavad Gita used. He replied that “Bhagavad Gita is a wonderful scripture and I have been reading Gita since childhood”. Said Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Courses on Jain religion, Ved Shastra, Ramayana, and Mahabharat have been added to the state’s Bhoj Open University, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University, and Vikram University. Only 100 students have registered in Bhopal’s Bhoj Open University’s one-year Ramayana diploma programme.
