NHPC announces cessation of Mohammad Afzal as government nominee director

NHPC has announced the cessation of Shri Mohammad Afzal as the Government Nominee Director on its board. Although the company has not yet received formal communication from the Ministry of Power (MoP), it has been understood from public domain information that Afzal, who previously served as Joint Secretary (Hydro) at MoP, is no longer associated with the ministry.

In accordance with the Articles of Association of NHPC, Afzal’s role as Government Nominee Director has been terminated. The company is currently awaiting formal communication from the Ministry of Power regarding the appointment of a new Government Nominee Director to replace Afzal.
