Congress MP Rahul Gandhi targeted the media and said that the issue of mimicry is being raised to divert attention from the real issue.

Hitting out at the media for not extensively discussing the suspension of members, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the media’s entire focus is on showing the copycat incident and not highlighting the pain and suffering from the suspended MPs.

Addressing journalists in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said, “The MP was sitting there, I shot his video. My video is on my phone. The media is showing this. Nobody said anything. Our 150 MPs were thrown out (from the House) but there was no discussion on it in the media. No discussion on Adani, no discussion on Rafale, no discussion on unemployment.”

: @RahulGandhi जी pic.twitter.com/XK54rjYX6Z

The controversy erupted when suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee was seen imitating Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen using his phone to text Trinamool MPs during a protest along with other suspended MPs at the Makar Gate of Parliament. Was seen making a video.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Jagdeep Dhankhar to express his anguish over a member’s theatrics in the ‘sacred’ Parliament complex.

Meanwhile, raking up the mimicry controversy, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday claimed that it was a ploy to divert public attention from the suspension of 141 MPs from Parliament.

PM Modi visited the headquarters of Press Trust of India in Delhi. Met media persons and also talked about their challenges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for his surprising moves and visits that often amazes everyone. In this sequence, the Prime Minister reached PTI (Press Trust of India) headquarters on Saturday. Here he met several dozen journalists working for PTI.

The News Agency PTI has claimed in a news report that he discussed the challenges in front of the media.

“PM @narendramodi visited the Press Trust of India headquarters in New Delhi earlier today in his first visit to any newsroom since he assumed office in 2014, and saw from close quarters the news agency’s newly-launched video service,” wrote PTI on X.

“During his one-hour stay, PM Modi interacted with the entire PTI staff in batches, and also spent time with the senior editorial and executive staff, discussing in detail the challenges and opportunities before the media,” added PTI.

VIDEO | PM @narendramodi visited the Press Trust of India headquarters in New Delhi earlier today in his first visit to any newsroom since he assumed office in 2014, and saw from close quarters the news agency's newly-launched video service.

During his one-hour stay, PM Modi… pic.twitter.com/ejxgYrnS60

— Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) December 9, 2023

In fact, PTI, traditionally an agency of text and pictures, started its video service in February this year. PM Modi had reached there to see this service closely. This might be the first time after becoming Prime Minister that Narendra Modi has met so many journalists simultaneously. However, even in this meeting, journalists were not allowed to ask questions.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday targeted the Narendra Modi led government at the Center over the Agnipath scheme of short-term recruitment in the army, saying that by bringing this scheme, the dreams of millions of youth to protect the country have been broken. Rahul Gandhi said this in an election rally in Rajakhera, Dholpur.

Raising the question, he said, “Why did Agnipath scheme come, because Narendra Modi ji took out your GST money from your pocket and put it directly into the pockets of industrialists and lakhs of youth, who wake up at four in the morning, want to protect the country. Ended his dream, broke his heart.”

“Earlier, the Indian government used to tell the youth of the country – if you protect the country, we will protect you and your family for the rest of your life. But now Modi ji has brought Agniveer, in which youth will be given jobs only for 4 years. This is because PM Modi has given all the money used for the defence of the army to Adani,” added Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi also attacked PM Modi and media by alleging that both are diverting the attention of common people from cruicial issues.

“Like Modi ji, media also works to divert your attention. You may have never heard of any poor farmer in the media, but you must have seen Modi ji, cricket and film stars. TV never shows you the pain of the country, because it is not yours but Adani’s,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Watch full speech here:

Further attacking the BJP, Rahul Gandhi said: “BJP leaders say – study Hindi, don’t study English. But when you ask BJP leaders about their children, you will come to know that they all study in English medium schools. They don’t want your children to learn English and get good jobs.”

Well, the assembly elections in Rajasthan are scheduled to take place on November 25, in a single phase, followed by the counting of votes and declaration of results on December 3.

Last Monday, the Supreme Court reserved instructions on forming an expert committee to assess India's regulatory structure to protect investors.

According to LiveLaw, the Supreme Court on Friday denied lawyer M. L. Sharma’s request that the media refrain from reporting on the Adani-Hindenburg dispute until the court issues its decision.

“We would never impose an injunction against the media,” said Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud to Sharma. Sharma had previously filed a public interest litigation (PIL) requesting a probe into Hindenburg Research.

He told the court that the media was generating a “sensation.” CJI Chandrachud responded, “Make a reasonable argument, not for an injunction to the media.”

Last Monday, the Supreme Court reserved instructions on forming an expert committee to assess India’s regulatory structure to protect investors. Chandrachud further stated that the court would issue the orders soon.

The panel, which was chaired by India’s Chief Justice, also rejected the Center’s offer to deliver the names in a sealed cover.

“We will select the experts and maintain full transparency.” If we take names from the government, it would amount to a government-constituted committee. “There has to be full public confidence in the committee,” the CJI said.

Probably for the first time in the history of journalism internships in India, a media agency is offering its interns...

Probably for the first time in the history of journalism internships in India, a media agency is offering its interns a chance to get their articles published on multiple news websites, that too, along with their byline, thumbnail image and an ‘about the author’ introduction.

Yes! This is exactly what’s up for grabs in the journalism internship with India’s leading entertainment PR agency Dale Bhagwagar Media Group.

Dale Bhagwagar Media Group’s unpaid work-from-home journalism internships in content writing are based on work-from-home projects, assigned mainly to students studying journalism, content writing and/or public relations.

The virtual internships have an entry barrier on who the agency chooses to train. There is an entry test all applicants must take. The period of the internship is two months, which is essential for understanding content strategy, journalistic styles and ethics, spin techniques, methods of news writing, formation of content, news angles and news writing formats.

As a virtual intern, the applicant is expected to stay in touch over the phone and on WhatsApp each day for two months and generate two news articles everyday for 60 days. In case the daily articles prepared by the intern meet the journalistic standards of national news websites, the agency speaks to select websites and gets some of them published.

These could be extremely beneficial as reference links for freshers and interns, when seeking a job in mass media professions such as journalism, content writing or PR in future. On successful completion of the internship, the interns get a certificate and a letter of appreciation.

For the record, the agency’s founder Dale Bhagwagar is a leading publicist in India with 36 years of experience in the news media industry — 11 years in journalism, followed by 25 years of expertise in PR. As a journalist, he has written for national publications like The Indian Express, The Asian Age, DNA, Screen, Cine Blitz, Showtime, Moviemag International and the iconic Blitz tabloid, among others.

As a publicist and thought leader, he has been quoted in almost every top media in India. He is also the only Indian publicist who has been quoted in top best international media such as BBC, Sky News (UK), CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post (US), The Sydney Morning Herald (Australia), Pravda (Russia) and the International Herald Tribune (France).

He heads the PR agency Dale Bhagwagar Media Group in Mumbai which has handled the publicity for over 300 Bollywood personalities, 30 movies and 20 Bigg Boss contestants. His agency’s activities bear his personal touch and stamp.

The publicity agency has been at the forefront of the entertainment PR brigade for more than two decades. In fact, Dale Bhagwagar is popularly written-about in the media as Bollywood’s only PR guru. A simple Google search in his name brings up thousands of results.

Google has accepted to pay a fine of 1.1 million euros ($1.3 million) after French authorities found that the search...

Google has accepted to pay a fine of 1.1 million euros ($1.3 million) after French authorities found that the search engine exhibited misleading rankings for French hotels.

Google had previously used the official source ‘Atout France’ along with input from other hotel-industry websites in its algorithm to rank hotels from one to five stars.

After receiving complaints from hoteliers about Google’s rankings, the French governments fraud and competition agency commenced an investigation in 2019 and 2020. It stated that it was to monitor the nature and fairness of the information supplied by the platform across 7,500 establishments.

Google said that it has now made the “necessary changes to only reflect the official French star rating for hotels on Google Maps and Search.”

Another headline made by Google is that it has negotiated a deal with Australia’s Seven West Media that emerged as the country’s first major news outlet to attain a licensing deal with Google. The government pressures for a law that would force the search engine giant to compensate media companies for content.

At an earnings announcement on Tuesday 15th February, Seven, which owns a free-to-air television network and the main metro newspaper in the city of Perth, said it would provide content for Google’s News Showcase platform. Terms were not disclosed

The deal displays Seven separating from rivals News Corp and Nine Entertainment which have failed to arrive at an agreement with Google and instead backed laws, expected to be passed this week, where the government sets the online giant’s content fees if a private deal is missing.

Till now in Australia, only specialist online publishers and one regional newspaper have accomplished deals to gain payment for their content appearing on the new Google platform which went live in the country this month. Outside Australia, Reuters is among news outlets with similar Google deals.

“The negotiations with Google recognise the value of quality and original journalism throughout the country and, in particular, in regional areas,” said Seven West Chairman Kerry Stokes in a statement.

Google’s Australia CEO Mel Silva said the US company was “proud to support original, trusted, and quality journalism” by featuring Seven on its platform. In January, Silva told a parliamentary hearing Google would pull its search engine from Australia if the namely News Media Bargaining Code became law. A Google representative declined to comment on the impact of the Seven deal.
