Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the signing of a new resort in Lonavala, Maharashtra, further expanding its leisure portfolio in one of India’s most popular getaway destinations. The new property, Lemon Tree Resort, will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited.

The resort will feature 50 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, banquet hall, meeting room, swimming pool, spa, and fitness centre. Lonavala, nestled in the Sahyadri hills, is a sought-after leisure destination known for its scenic landscapes, pleasant climate, and proximity to Mumbai and Pune. It attracts a steady mix of weekend travellers, destination weddings, and corporate offsites, making it an ideal location for a branded resort offering.

Mr. Vilas Pawar, CEO of Managed & Franchise Business at Lemon Tree Hotels, commented on the signing, stating that Lonavala remains a high-demand leisure destination with strong potential across weekend travel, weddings, and corporate retreats. He emphasised that this signing aligns with the company’s focus on expanding its resort portfolio in key getaway destinations while continuing to build scale in Maharashtra.

The resort is conveniently located approximately 69 km from Navi Mumbai International Airport and about 5.8 km from Lonavala Railway Station, providing easy connectivity for travellers from major cities across India.

This addition reflects Lemon Tree Hotels’ continued focus on strengthening its presence across prominent leisure destinations, while complementing its established footprint in key urban centres.

Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle will turn a year older tomorrow on 8th September 2021. Talking about the plans for any celebration regarding the occasion, the singer said that nothing special happens. She keeps it simple by cutting a cake and spending quality time with family.

While speaking to Hindustan Times she said, “Ghar mein simple sa hota hai mahul, aur bacche cake kaat lete hain. Party ya zyada kuch nahi hota. Birthday is not a special day for me. Hum toh buddhe hote hai us din. It is something that kids celebrate,”

During the conversation, she recalled how earlier she used to celebrate her birthday. She last celebrated her 75th birthday on a big scale when she had invited big names of the industry.

She added, “I celebrated my birthday once when I turned 75. We invited every singer I’ve worked with and share a close bond with. Uske baad, I asked my family to refrain from (throwing) a party. This year, I will be in Lonavala with my daughter-in-law and grand-daughter.”

Talking about the current situation of the pandemic she feels restless. She describes how she is eagerly waiting for things to get normal so that she could return to singing. Her words were, “Just before the pandemic, I did three live shows. It was because of the Covid-19 crisis that many of my shows got cancelled. Pandemic mein toh puri duniya hi baith gai. I’m just waiting for things to get normal, so that I can resume my live shows,”
