Siren, a Tamil film released in February and starring Jayam Ravi and Keerthy Suresh in main roles, is now available to view on Disney+ Hotstar. The film will be released in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Siren is Antony Bhagyaraj’s directorial debut. Siren, produced by Home Movie Makers, stars Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Anupama Parameswaran, Yogi Babu, Samuthirakani, and other actors.

Siren is about Thilaga Varman, an ambulance driver who goes to jail after being accused of crimes. When a tainted police officer gets released on parole and attempts to reunite with his daughter, he fears he is on the verge of committing a series of murders. Keerthy Suresh has worn the khaki outfit for the first time at Siren.

The film premiered in theatres in February, to mixed reviews. Following its theatrical release, the film is currently available on Disney+ Hotstar in all South Indian languages, including Hindi. The film was Keerthy and Jayam Ravi’s debut collaboration.

Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi, who most recently appeared in Siren, will star in two films: Genie and Kadhalika Neramillai. The first film is a fantasy drama starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Krithi Shetty, and others, while the second is a romantic drama starring Nithya Menen.

Rang De, a Telugu film starring Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh, will premiere on ZEE5. On Friday, ZEE5 tweeted, “The film that you have been waiting for a long time, the magical love tale Range De streams from 12th June only on #ZEE5.”

Rang De’s digital release comes more than two months after its theatrical premiere. The film, directed by Venky Atluri of Tholiprema fame, was released in theatres on March 26 to mixed reviews.

Last month, Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal premiered on Amazon Prime Video, instead of waiting for theatres to re-open.

Besides being released on the streaming platform, Penguin and Ponmagal Vandhal have a severe semblance to each other. Both movies have female protagonists. And the plot involves the kidnapping of a child and follows the pain of a mother and the ordeal she undergoes. The colour palette and the locales in Penguin too are pretty much similar to that of Ponmagal Vandhal.

Keerthy Suresh plays the role of a mother whose child goes missing. The child is kidnapped by a psychopath whose face is hidden behind a mask. Well, from the looks of it, Penguin surely is a dark film. The trailer leaves many questions answered, will the mother be able to rescue her kid? Or will she seek vengeance from the psychopath? The makers of the film say, Penguin is “a mother’s story.”
