Orient Green Power signs Rs 62 crore contract with Renfra Energy for wind turbine expansion

Orient Green Power Company has announced a significant expansion of its wind energy capacity through its subsidiary, Beta Wind Farm Private Limited. The company has executed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Renfra Energy India Limited for the supply, installation, and commissioning of two wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 3.3 MW, totalling 6.6 MW. The project is set to be located in Karur District, Tamil Nadu.

The agreement, valued at approximately ₹62 crore inclusive of GST, outlines the terms under which Renfra will deliver the wind turbines on a turnkey basis. This move is part of Orient Green Power‘s strategic plan to enhance its renewable energy footprint in India. The project is expected to be completed by 31st July 2026.

The Investment / Borrowing / Banking Committee (IBBC) of Beta’s Board of Directors approved the expansion plan on 19th May 2026, authorising officials to finalise the terms and conditions of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with Renfra.

The contract does not involve any related party transactions, and neither the promoter group nor group companies have any interest in Renfra Energy India Limited. The expansion aligns with Orient Green Power’s commitment to increasing its installed capacity and contributing to sustainable energy solutions.
