Belagavi, Dec 6 : Senior BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal stirred a hornet’s nest by accusing Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for sharing dais with ISIS supporters and terror sympathisers at Hubballi.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah shared the dias with ISIS supporters and Terror Sympathizers yesterday at Hubli. Tanveer Peera is a Terror Sympathiser who has links with Terror Outfits across the Middle East. Attached Images are his recent visits to the Middle East meeting the Terror Sympathizer and Radical Islamic Operatives,” he said on X.

Yatnal urged intelligence agencies and the NIA to investigate Tanveer’s accounts and his recent visits to the Middle East.

He said Tanveer met CM Siddaramaiah on several occasions. “Does Chief Minister @siddaramaiah know the background of this Terror Sympathizer? I will reveal all details of Tanveer to Saudi and the Middle East,” he said.

Yatnal also said: “Today Morning I made a statement that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah shared dias with Terror Sympathizer and Isis supporter at Belagavi. I urge Intelligence agencies and @NIA_India to investigate Tanveer Peeras accounts and his recent visits to the Middle East.”

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai said the Congress is summoning their candidates and talking to other parties because they know their party is not getting majority in Karnataka assembly election and do not trust their candidates.

Bengaluru, May 12: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said the Congress is summoning their candidates and talking to other parties because they know their party is not getting majority in Karnataka assembly election and do not trust their candidates.

“There are two meanings to it. Firstly, they won’t get a majority. Therefore they are trying to talk to other parties. And secondly, they do not have faith in their MLAs,” he told reporters here.

He replied to a question on the Congress summoning their candidates and booking resorts in Bengaluru in the fear of BJP launching Operation Kamala to buyout winning candidates to form the next government.

The Congress has summoned their candidates to Bengaluru after a majority of exit polls predicted a fractured mandate in the Karnataka assembly election, the polling for which culminated on Wednesday at 6pm.

Karnataka recorded the highest-ever voter turnout of 73.19 per cent since the 1952 assembly election.

Asked about the possibilities of a post-poll alliance with JDS to form a coalition government, Bommai said as of now there is no such a possibility as the BJP is getting a comfortable majority.

Reacting to Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar’s claim that the Congress would secure 141 seats, Bommai said: “Well let him be happy with 141 till tomorrow. the reality will emerge.”

Asked who would be the chief ministerial face after the party wins the election, Bommai said, “Let us see. It will be decided in the legislature party and parliamentary board meetings.”

Replying to a query on post-poll alliance with JDS, Bommai said, “I just saw that Kumaraswamy said he will not be a kingmaker, but become a king. Everybody has his own right to make his assessment.”

The polling for the Karnataka assembly election concluded on Wednesday evening, with the state registering a voter turnout of 73.19 per cent, which poll officials on Thursday termed a record while sharing the final figures.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said instructions have been issued for resolving the Azan row through peace meetings at the police station level.

Kalaburagi, April 22: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said instructions have been issued for resolving the Azan row through peace meetings at the police station level. “The process is going on. Everyone should follow the law. There is a High Court order on Azan. A circular has already been issued in accordance with that. The rule also specifies the decibel level. The Director General of Police has already issued the circular,” he told reporters here. Some Hindu organisations including Sri Ram Sene have been demanding removal of loudspeakers from the mosques as per the Supreme Court’s order on noise pollution.

Sri Ram Sene President Pramod Muthalik has given a deadline of May 9 to restrict loudspeakers from mosques, and warned mutts and temples would play bhajans and Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers if this was not done. Replying to a question, Bommai said there are no differences in the BJP in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region. “A few issues that had cropped up have been resolved. We are more united than ever. Greater importance is being given for the development of Kalyana Karnataka region. We are confident of taking everyone along,” he said. On PSI recruitment scam, Bommai said two persons have been arrested and the probe will go to the bottom of the irregularities.

Bommai rued that irregularities were perpetrated despite tight security and a transparent system. “Officials were instructed to conduct a thorough preliminary investigation immediately after getting the complaint about irregularities. The case was handed over to CID when differences were noticed in the answer scripts.” Reacting to the demand from opposition parties for a court-supervised or CBI probe, Bommai said a decision on further course would be taken after getting an interim report.

(Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by Business Upturn staff. And is published from a syndicated feed.)
