The Ramco Cements has had a ₹66.65 crore excise duty dispute dropped, though similar disputes totalling ₹1.60 crore remain pending.

The Ramco Cements has announced a significant development regarding its ongoing litigation concerning the levy of excise duty based on the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for bagged cement. The Original Authority has dropped the disputed excise duty amounting to ₹66.65 crore, as per an order dated 15th May 2026. The company received this order via email on 18th May 2026.

This update follows the company’s previous disclosures on ongoing material litigations dated 14th August 2023. The resolution of this particular dispute marks a notable relief for the company amidst its legal challenges.

However, The Ramco Cements has indicated that disputes of a similar nature are still pending with statutory authorities. These unresolved disputes currently amount to ₹1.60 crore, as previously mentioned in the company’s letter from August 2023.

The company has requested that this update be taken on record.

Disclaimer: This article is based on a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).
