In 2025, the financial standings of high-profile figures like former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and global pop sensation Katy Perry continue to spark curiosity. Both have made headlines recently, not just for their professional achievements but also for a surprising dinner sighting in Montreal that has fueled speculation. This article dives into their estimated net worths in 2025 and compares their sources of wealth.

Justin Trudeau’s Net Worth in 2025

Justin Trudeau, who served as Canada’s Prime Minister from 2015 until his resignation in January 2025, has amassed significant wealth through a combination of family inheritance, political earnings, and savvy investments. According to estimates, Trudeau’s net worth in 2025 is approximately $96 million. This figure is bolstered by:

Family Wealth: Trudeau inherited a substantial portion of his fortune from his father, former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, including real estate and trust funds.

Political Career: As Prime Minister, Trudeau earned a salary of around CAD $400,000 annually, supplemented by speaking engagements and book deals post-tenure.

Investments: His portfolio reportedly includes high-value stocks and luxury properties, contributing significantly to his wealth.

Trudeau’s financial success is notable, especially considering his relatively modest political salary compared to his overall wealth, much of which stems from inherited assets and strategic investments.

Katy Perry’s Net Worth in 2025

Katy Perry, the iconic pop star behind hits like Roar and Firework, remains a powerhouse in the entertainment industry. As of 2025, Katy Perry’s net worth is estimated at around $400 million, making her one of the wealthiest musicians globally. Her wealth comes from:

Music Career: Perry’s chart-topping albums, including her 2024 release 143, and global tours, such as the ongoing Lifetimes Tour, generate millions in revenue.

Brand Endorsements: Partnerships with brands like CoverGirl, H&M, and her own fragrance line have added significantly to her fortune.

Business Ventures: Perry has invested in real estate and owns a stake in various entrepreneurial ventures, further boosting her wealth.

American Idol: Her role as a judge on American Idol reportedly earns her $25 million per season, a major contributor to her income.

Perry’s ability to diversify her income streams beyond music has solidified her financial dominance in the entertainment world.

Comparing Net Worths: Trudeau vs. Perry

While both Trudeau and Perry are wealthy, Katy Perry’s net worth of $400 million far surpasses Justin Trudeau’s $96 million. Perry’s earnings from her music career, endorsements, and media appearances dwarf Trudeau’s wealth, which is largely tied to inheritance and investments rather than active income generation. Perry’s global brand and ongoing projects give her a financial edge, while Trudeau’s wealth, though substantial, reflects a more static, legacy-driven portfolio.

With Justin Trudeau announcing his resignation, the focus shifts to who could lead the Liberal Party and serve as Canada’s...

With Justin Trudeau announcing his resignation, the focus shifts to who could lead the Liberal Party and serve as Canada’s next Prime Minister. Several names have emerged as potential successors, but the path forward depends on the party’s decision-making process and whether an interim leader will be chosen.

Dominic LeBlanc, currently serving as Finance Minister and a close ally of Justin Trudeau, has emerged as a key contender. Trudeau has reportedly discussed the possibility of LeBlanc stepping in as interim leader, leveraging his political experience and steady presence within the party. However, if LeBlanc plans to contest the leadership race, his role as interim leader could face challenges, as neutrality is often preferred during transitions.

Chrystia Freeland, the former Deputy Prime Minister and a prominent figure in the Liberal government, is also considered a strong candidate. George Chahal, an Alberta Liberal MP, has been advocating for the appointment of an interim leader.

With more than half of the 153 Liberal MPs reportedly calling for Justin Trudeau’s resignation, the party may appoint an interim leader to stabilize its ranks while preparing for a broader leadership contest. This interim leader would likely focus on guiding the party through critical parliamentary proceedings and preventing a no-confidence vote, which could trigger an early federal election.

The Liberal Party has promised a “robust, nationwide, competitive process” to choose its next leader. This process, expected to take several months, will likely feature candidates with diverse visions for the party’s future direction, reflecting the need to regain public trust and counter the Conservatives’ growing momentum.

The urgency to unify under a new leader is amplified by the Conservatives’ commanding 26-point lead in recent polls (Nanos Research, December 2024). With the possibility of a federal election as early as March 2025, the Liberals face mounting pressure to resolve internal divisions and present a cohesive strategy to voters.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement of his resignation marks the end of an era and raises pressing questions about the country’s political future. Trudeau, who has led Canada since 2015, will stay on as Prime Minister until a new Liberal Party leader is chosen. Here’s what lies ahead for Canada:

1. Leadership Transition in the Liberal Party

Trudeau stated that the next leader of the Liberal Party would be selected through a “robust, nationwide, competitive process.”

Typically, federal party leadership races in Canada take four to five months, culminating in a formal leadership convention. However, the Liberal caucus may expedite this process to ensure the new leader is in place before crucial parliamentary votes in March.

2. Parliamentary Suspension (Prorogation)

Trudeau has requested prorogation, which the Governor General has approved. This move suspends all parliamentary proceedings, including debates and votes, until 24 March 2025.

Prorogation is often used during political crises to buy time, allowing the Liberals to manage the leadership transition without facing immediate parliamentary scrutiny.

3. Looming Federal Election

Canada’s next federal election must occur before October 2025, but a no-confidence vote could trigger an earlier election.

The opposition Conservative Party, currently leading in polls with a double-digit advantage, may attempt to call a no-confidence vote in the House of Commons. The Liberals, who are 17 seats short of a majority, would require support from smaller parties to avoid such a motion succeeding.

4. Potential Scenarios for Canada

Smooth Leadership Transition: If the Liberals manage to select a strong leader by March and secure parliamentary support, they could stabilize the government and focus on addressing pressing national issues.

Early Election: If the opposition successfully calls a no-confidence vote, Canada could face an election within months, with polls suggesting a likely victory for the Conservative Party.

Policy Implications: A new Liberal leader may shift party priorities to address rising concerns over the cost of living, housing, and other economic challenges that have eroded Trudeau’s popularity.

5. Public Sentiment and Political Landscape

Trudeau’s resignation reflects mounting criticism over his handling of key issues and declining approval ratings. His successor will face the dual challenge of reinvigorating the Liberal Party and addressing voter concerns.

The Conservatives, under their leader Pierre Poilievre, are positioning themselves as a strong alternative, leveraging public dissatisfaction with the Liberal government.

Justin Trudeau is a Canadian political figure who has been serving as the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada since 2015. He has concurrently held the leadership position of the Liberal Party of Canada since 2013. He is projected to have a net worth of approximately $15 million in 2024. Let us have a look at his net worth in depth.

Justin Trudeau is a Canadian political figure who has been serving as the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada since 2015. He has concurrently held the leadership position of the Liberal Party of Canada since 2013. He is projected to have a net worth of approximately $15 million in 2024. This is a significant increase from his estimated $4 million net worth in 2015 when he first took office.

These are some of the main contributors to Trudeau’s wealth:

Real Estate Holdings

A major component of Trudeau’s estimated $15 million net worth comes from the significant value of his real estate holdings. His primary residence in Ottawa is valued at around $1.2 million, while he owns a $800,000 condo in Montreal and a $500,000 cottage in the Laurentian Mountains region.
These properties make up a sizable portion of Trudeau’s total assets. Furthermore, with real estate values steadily appreciating in recent years, the increasing worth of these properties has directly increased Trudeau’s overall net worth over time. An advantageous factor is that Trudeau owns all three properties outright with no outstanding mortgages. This provides him with substantial equity that he can leverage for borrowing or potentially sell for a profit down the line. Additionally, Trudeau generates supplemental income by renting out his Montreal condo. This rental revenue can assist with maintenance costs or be reinvested into other assets and income streams.

Investments

Trudeau’s investment portfolio across companies like Shopify, Bombardier, and Air Canada makes up a major part of his overall wealth and financial stability. His investments are diversified across different sectors including technology, transportation, and manufacturing to reduce risk exposure. The companies Trudeau has invested in have strong growth prospects. Shopify is a leading e-commerce firm, Bombardier is a major global transportation player, and Air Canada is one of the world’s biggest airlines – all poised to benefit from economic expansion and technological progress. Some of Trudeau’s investments pay out dividends, providing him with a steady stream of income that can cover expenses or be reinvested into other assets. Over time, the stocks he owns also have the potential for significant capital appreciation in value, which would directly increase his net worth.

In essence, Trudeau’s diversified investments across growth industries, coupled with dividend payments and likely stock value increases, constitute a critical component driving the growth and maintenance of his net worth.

Family Inheritance

Trudeau’s substantial net worth is bolstered by the significant wealth he inherited from his affluent family background. Having been born into an environment of affluence, with his father Pierre Trudeau serving as a former Prime Minister of Canada, Trudeau received an inheritance exceeding $50 million from his forebears. This sizable inheritance has played a pivotal role in contributing to his remarkable net worth.

Income

Furthermore, Trudeau’s position as the current Prime Minister of Canada affords him a substantial annual salary reaching an impressive $8 million, translating to a monthly income of $0.5 million. In addition to his Prime Ministerial earnings, Trudeau augments his financial portfolio through income derived from lucrative speaking engagements, further enhancing his overall financial standing.

Mansion in Ottawa

Complementing his substantial wealth, Trudeau has acquired an opulent mansion in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This luxurious residence encompasses a sprawling 13,300 square feet and is adorned with a multitude of extravagant amenities. Among its lavish features are five fireplaces, a tennis court, a wine cellar, a grand 16-seater dining room, three swimming pools, eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and a distinctive addition—a bowling alley. The mansion stands as a testament to Trudeau’s opulent and luxurious lifestyle.

Net worth growth

Trudeau’s net worth has seen a considerable increase from his estimated $4 million in 2015 when first taking office to a projected $15 million in 2024. His Prime Minister’s salary of $358,000 annually provides a steady and sizable income stream that has contributed significantly to expanding his net worth over the years. Additionally, Trudeau has made savvy investment decisions that have generated lucrative returns, further driving the growth of his overall wealth and net worth.
Moreover, Trudeau’s high-profile position and public visibility as Prime Minister have opened doors to profitable endorsement deals and speaking engagement opportunities. These additional income sources stemming from his elevated stature have also played a role in facilitating the increase in his net worth. In essence, the combination of his Prime Ministerial salary, wise investment strategies reaping returns, and ability to capitalize on his public persona through endorsements and speeches has enabled Justin Trudeau to accumulate a projected $15 million net worth by 2024 – nearly quadrupling his wealth since first taking office.

This article has been modified using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

Western leaders, including Ursula von der Leyen and Justin Trudeau, visited Kyiv to show solidarity with Ukraine as it marks the third year of conflict with Russia.

Western leaders, including the European Commission’s Ursula von der Leyen and Canada’s Justin Trudeau, made a solidarity visit to Kyiv as Ukraine marked the third year of its conflict with Russia. The delegation, which also comprised Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Belgium Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, arrived in Ukraine via an overnight train from neighbouring Poland. Their visit comes amidst a backdrop of waning Western assistance and territorial gains by Russian forces.

During an event at Kyiv’s Gostomel Airport commemorating the second anniversary of the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed resolve, stated how they have been fighting for 730 days of their lives. His sentiment was echoed by Oleksandr Syrskii, the chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who emphasised the importance of unity in achieving victory.

Meloni, whose country chairs the G7 this year, is set to host a video conference between G7 leaders and Zelenskyy, with discussions likely to revolve around imposing new sanctions on Russia and coordinating joint arms acquisitions for Ukraine.

European Commission President von der Leyen reaffirmed the EU’s unwavering support for Ukraine. Trudeau also underscored the significance of the Ukrainian struggle for democracy.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence in Ukraine’s eventual accession to the alliance, emphasising NATO’s continued commitment to supporting the country.

The United Kingdom announced a new defence package worth $311 million to bolster Ukraine’s artillery ammunition production, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak affirming Britain’s enduring support for Ukraine.

However, Kyiv has faced challenges in recent weeks due to shortages of military supplies, exacerbated by Russia’s capture of the eastern town of Avdiivka. U.S. President Joe Biden attributed delays in military assistance to Ukraine to opposition from Republicans in Congress, stressing the necessity of such aid in repelling Russian aggression.

Despite the challenges, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed confidence in Ukraine’s eventual victory, asserting, “Ukraine will win the war,” and emphasising the importance of international support in achieving this goal.

The ongoing progress in bilateral ties between India and the United States was also reviewed during their interaction.

Amarinder Singh compared the Pakistan and Canada model of patronage to anti-India forces and urged the government of India to intensify international pressure on Canada to hand over terrorists

India-Canada Captain Amarinder Singh, a former chief minister of Punjab, criticised Justin Trudeau for blaming India for the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Captain Amarinder Singh discussed how he gave Justin Trudeau a list of nine terrorists during the Canadian PM’s 2018 visit to India in an opinion article that was published in the publication TheIndianExpress (behind a paywall). However, Trudeau chose to ignore the list.

The list contained the names of nine A-category terrorists, according to the former Chief Minister, and he demanded that something be done about them.

“When I met Trudeau as Chief Minister of Punjab on behalf of the Government of India in February 2018 at Amritsar, I handed over a list of nine A-category terrorists to him for action,” he wrote. “But the Canadian government chose to ignore the list completely.”

The Canadian Prime Minister’s accusations, according to Amarinder Singh, are not surprising because “he plays to the extremist gallery.” It was a “classic case of the pot calling the kettle black,” he said, adding that Canada was home to anti-Indian groups.

The former chief minister criticised the Canadian government’s response to the attack on Hindu and Indian consulates in that country. He rejected the justification of “freedom of expression” offered by the Canadian government for subversive actions.

On Monday, Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister blasted Meta for banning domestic news from its platforms like wildfires rage, saying during a crisis, up-to-date information is crucial.

Addressing a televised news conference in the Atlantic province of Prince Edward Island, he said, “Facebook is putting corporate profits ahead of people’s safety.” He also added that the company’s actions were “inconceivable”.

Trudeau’s comments appears to be the latest government attack on Meta, which started blocking news on its Facebook and Instagram platforms for all users in Canada this month in response to a new law which requires internet giants to pay for news articles.

Last week, Federal Liberal cabinet ministers described the ban as reckless and irresponsible. Some people complained to domestic media that because of the ban, sharing of important data regarding the fires was prevented.

Trudeau said, “It’s time for us to expect more from corporations like Facebook that are making billions of dollars off of Canadians,”

According to a company spokesperson, on the platform, the Canadians can still have access to information from official government agencies, emergency services and non-governmental organizations.

As per reports, activation of the “Safety Check” feature has been done by Facebook that allows users to spread the word that they are safe in the wake of a natural disaster or a crisis.

White House officials announced that this move will further stop Russia's potential to use its international stocks to prop up Russia's economy and fund its battle against Ukraine.

The G7 group of developed economies and the European Union approved to shut off transactions comprising the Russian central bank’s gold funds to hamper any Moscow bid to circumvent Western sanctions, the White House announced on Thursday.

The allies will function together “to blunt Russia’s potential to fund… (President Vladimir) Putin’s war, comprising by bringing clear that any transaction affecting gold… is covered by previous sanctions,” the statement announced.

Group of Seven leaders have confirmed they are prohibiting the Russian Central Bank’s use of gold in transactions, while the US declared a new round of sanctions targeting more than 400 elites and members of the Russian State Duma.

Earlier, sanctions against Russian elites, the country’s Central Bank and President Vladimir Putin did not affect Russia’s gold stockpile, which Putin has been collecting for several years. Russia holds approximately $130 billion in gold reserves, and the Bank of Russia declared Feb 28 that it would continue the purchase of gold on the domestic important metals market.

White House officials announced that this move will further stop Russia’s potential to use its international stocks to prop up Russia’s economy and fund its battle against Ukraine.

However, the Biden administration declared more sanctions targeting 48 state-owned defence firms, 328 members of the Duma, Russia’s lower parliament, and dozens of Russian elites. The Duma as an element was also called in the new sanctions.

These 10 names are prima facie in influencing Russian President Putin to wage a full-blown war against Ukraine.

In the latest run-up list of sanctions against Russia, the Canadian Prime Minister levied new Justin Trudeau sanctions on 10 individuals who belong to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle. These 10 names are prima facie in influencing Russian President Putin to wage a full-blown war against Ukraine.

Trudeau in his official statement to a news conference in London revealed, that these 10 individuals have influenced the war on Ukraine; few were former government officials and few are currently in senior positions in the Russian leadership, others are oligarchs and are blind supporters of Putin. These names were traded by the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is currently in prison.

Canada on 28th February imposed Special Economic Measure Act(SEMA) in accordance with the amendment to Russia’s SEMA Regulations.

Canada denied access to Russia’s largest bank the Central Bank of the Federation, the National Wealth Fund of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. Any properties owned by the Russian leadership or oligarchs or Putin’s inner circle were also seized and bank accounts were frozen by Canadian authorities.

Canada also denied access to any Russian connecting ship or cargo ship to dock at their ports or internal waters. Russia enters the 12th day of its brutal offensive against Ukraine today and no amount of sanctions or diplomacy or dialogue has softened Putin’s aggression.

There will be a special way in for Ukrainians with family members who are existing Canadian citizens or are permanent residents of Canada. The pathway towards permanent residence will be the special family reunification sponsorship.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced a new way for Ukrainians to find solace and start a new life temporarily or permanently. On Friday amidst the increasing refugee crisis in Ukraine Trudeau said the new program will be the fastest and easiest way to enter Canada as they waive off the usual stringent visa requirements for Ukrainians.

There will be a special way in for Ukrainians with family members who are existing Canadian citizens or are permanent residents of Canada. The pathway towards permanent residence will be the special family reunification sponsorship.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will introduce new immigration policies for Ukrainians who want to enter Canada permanently or temporarily. This is the Canadian Government’s subtle retaliatory move to reassure Canada’s support towards Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion. People fleeing from Ukraine can take up the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel and the number of Ukrainians that can apply will be limitless.

Moreover, in this new path for Ukrainians pending background verifications, security scrutiny, their stay in Canada could be extended for about 2 years. And Canada lived up to its reputation of being the most immigrant-friendly country in the world.

IRCC Promises to let the Ukrainians apply for work permits, it will give away work permits to both skilled and unskilled persons including students who can’t go home.

Trudeau had spoken with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy where he reassured him that Canada will stand alongside Ukraine in these troubled times with Russia and continue to support it until Ukraine needs them to.

Trudeau also affirmed that his country and his allies will actively increase efforts in protecting the displaced Ukrainians. He strongly condemns Putin to have aggressively attacked Ukraine showing no respect to the UN charter or founding principles of the European Union.

Ukraine has so far seen over a million people fleeing the country and the US has halted the deportation of Ukrainians and this move is likely to support 30,000 Ukrainians. The United Nations warned that the number of Ukrainians fleeing is likely to increase from a million to 4 million.

The Canadian Prime Minister invoked remarkable emergency powers in an effort to end protests that have blocked border crossings and paralyzed the country's capital city of Ottowa.

On Monday, Justin Trudeau enforced an emergency in Canada. He announced that “The Emergencies Act will be used to strengthen and support law enforcement agencies at all levels across the country.”

The Canadian Prime Minister invoked remarkable emergency powers in an effort to end protests that have blocked border crossings and paralyzed the country’s capital city of Ottawa. “Here in our capital city, families and small businesses have been injuring illegal obstruction of their neighbourhoods. Occupying streets, harassing people, breaking the law. This is not a peaceful protest,” PM Trudeau added.

The Emergencies Act has been used once in peacetime (Quebec crisis) by Trudeau’s father former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau who had invoked the earlier version of The War Measures Act in 1970. It allows the federal government to override provinces and authorize special temporary measures to ensure security during national emergencies.

In his official statement, Trudeau said that ” This is about keeping Canadians safe, protecting peoples jobs and restoring confidence in our institutions.” Trudeau’s action comes as the so-called freedom convoy protests started by the Canadian truck drivers opposing a COVID-19 vaccine mandate have turned into a rallying point for people opposing the policies of Trudeau’s government covering everything from pandemic restrictions to the carbon tax.

Protests in Ottowa have entered their 3rd week while a 6-day blockade on a bridge connecting Windsor- Ontario to Detroit-Michigan. Choking the supply chain for US carmakers was finally cleared over the weekend. Protestors have also shut down smaller border crossings in Alberta (Coutts), south-central Manitoba (Emerson) and British Columbia.

Still, four provincial Premiers said that they oppose Justin Trudeau’s plan to invoke the Act calling it unnecessary with Quebecs Premier adding, “Now is not the time to throw oil on the fire.” The Canadian Parliament would have to approve the use of the Emergencies Act measures within 7-days and it also has the power to revoke them.

According to Canadian government data, over 27 million people are eligible to vote in this year's general elections and approximately 5.78 million ballots have already been cast in advance polls.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday decided to gamble on an early vote by counting on his government’s handling of the pandemic, which included massive expenditure on individuals and businesses to support them and for giving a push for high vaccination rates.

Even though Trudeau might win the election but it will still almost certainly be deemed as a failure for Trudeau because it has weakened his political standing and his Liberals fell short of his goal for a majority win.

Justin Trudeau is governing with a minority of House of Commons seats since 2019 but this time according to CBC and CTV reports, Trudeau’s Liberal government will need another party’s support to govern, as it seems to not have a majority win in this election.

Thank you, Canada — for casting your vote, for putting your trust in the Liberal team, for choosing a brighter future. We're going to finish the fight against COVID. And we're going to move Canada forward. For everyone.

— Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) September 21, 2021

According to Canadian government data, over 27 million people are eligible to vote in this year’s general elections and approximately 5.78 million ballots have already been cast in advance polls. As per the pre-poll survey, neither the Liberals nor the right-leaning Conservatives have the 38% public support needed for a majority.

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole, whose party placed second, conceded defeat as per results. “Our support has grown, it’s grown across the country, but there is more work for us to do to earn the trust of Canadians,” O’Toole told supporters while suggesting that he planned to stay on as leader as quoted by The Indian Express.

“My family and I are resolutely committed to continuing this journey for Canada”, he added further. Besides Trudeau and O’Toole, other leaders of smaller factions include the leftist New Democratic Party’s Jagmeet Singh, Yves-François Blanchet of separatist Bloc Quebecois and the Green’s Annamie Paul.

The final results are expected to be delayed as mail-in ballots which are expected to number in the hundreds of thousands, will be counted.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that Canada may utilize COVID-19 vaccines manufactured in India for their vaccination drives as well. Although it must be noted that discussions are in advancement.

On Friday 12th February while addressing the media in Ottawa, Trudeau said, “We are looking at other possible extra vaccines coming from India, from the Serum Institute (of India). Work is being done closely on that.”

Canada will order 20 million doses more of the vaccine than the already placed order with AstraZeneca.

With respect to Trudeau’s conversation earlier in the week with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “It was good to talk to Prime Minister Modi on a range of subjects including the role that India is playing in producing vaccines for the developing world and other issues that are important to us.”

The Canadian PMO’s readout after the talk did not state that Trudeau called Modi with a request for the Indian made vaccines and said the “two leaders agreed to work together on access to vaccines”.

Meanwhile, Modi tweeted that he “was happy to receive a call from my friend, @JustinTrudeau” and added, “Assured him that India would do its best to facilitate supplies of Covid vaccines sought by Canada.”

Presently, Canada’s contract is for the AstraZeneca shipment to arrive from the United States, dependent on public health authorities providing emergency authorization to the vaccine.

However, as the US is focusing their priority on its own citizens when it comes to vaccines manufactured there, there is a lack of clarity.

The Serum Institute is working in collaboration with Verity Pharmaceuticals, based in the Greater Toronto Area, for importing the vaccines to Canada, as and when an arrangement is agreed upon with Canadian authorities.

“Our arrangement is currently being finalised. And as soon as it is finalised, I will have more information to share with you and with all Canadians,” public services and procurement minister Anita Anand told the media.

Justin Trudeau, who came to power for the second straight term, in 2019 Canadian Parliamentary election, who had to struggle to do so, is being probed for the third time.

The Canada Student Service, used for the welfare of students and teaching professionals, has found itself in headlines, as this time questions are raised against the PM of Canada for a case of an alleged conflict of interest. The government has come under scrutiny for awarding the Canada Student Service Grant contract, worth C $900 million (C= Canadian). which to give a perspective is equivalent to $ 664 million to WE Charity, an organization that is said to have ties with PM and his family.

The government, run by the ruling party, The Liberal Party of Canada under the leadership of Trudeau, that came back to power 2015. had planned to pay students a one time grant between C$ 1000 to C$ 5000. to take part in service activities.

The opposition parties including the Conservatives, have requested a probe into this, given the fact that this directly involves the PM. The Office of Conflict of interest and Ethics Commissioner is said to receive requests from a couple of legislators asking the authorities to look into misconduct of the PM into the system.

According to the public broadcaster of the country, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and its recent reports, the Trudeau and his mother have been active participants in many of the events held by WE Charity, as his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, a former television host, also host a podcast for the group called ” WE well being”, which is associated to the Charity group.

These developments came to pass, as the Charity organization, which works with 130 district school districts, has cut its ties with the federal government on Friday, in an event that has created headlines in the country.

There is no official statement from the Government or Trudeau’s Spokesperson, at least as of yet.
