Digikore Studios Limited is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in its journey, having signed a contract with Viacom18 Media Private Limited for the production and hosting of 58 episodes of branded content on Jio Cinema. This contract marks a major step in the company’s expansion into the branded content space and is set to generate substantial revenue.

Key highlights of the contract include:

The deal is expected to generate ₹30 crores in revenue by the end of FY25.
This will help the company achieve its revised revenue target of ₹70 crores for FY25.
Digikore Studios will retain the intellectual property (IP) rights for the shows worldwide and in perpetuity.
The content will also be hosted on other OTT platforms globally and on Digikore’s own YouTube channel, Binge Fever, enhancing long-term monetization from FY26 onwards.

With this contract, Digikore Studios is poised to become one of the largest players in India’s branded content industry, further solidifying its position as a leader in digital entertainment.

Bigg Boss OTT season 3 is making headlines in the recent times. Recently, a video went viral on social media which showcased Armaan Malik and his wife Kritika Malik having sex. The video caused a stir on the internet and caught immense views. On Monday, Shivsena leader MLA Dr Manisha Kayande filed a complaint against the show and the contestant.

In an interview, Dr Manisha condemned the show and how they are promoting vulgarity. Now, Jio Cinema has denied all the claims, saying that the video is doctored and fake. They shared a statement on their official social media handle and cleared the air.

The statement read, “JioCinema adheres to strict programming standards and guidelines to ensure quality and appropriateness of any content that streams on our platform. Bigg Boss OTT which was streamed on JioCinema did not have any such content. The video clip in circulation is doctored to include obscenity and is fake. We are committed to protecting the integrity of JioCinema and the trust our viewers place in us. The creation and circulation of this fake clip is a matter of very serious concern.”

On Monday, Shivsena leader Dr Manisha Kayande filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police. She even filed a petition for the Information and Broadcasting Minister to overlook on this situation. The politician said how OTT platforms are promoting obscene content, which can have a bad impact on the younger generation.

Armaan Malik entered the Bigg Boss house with his two wives- Payal and Kritika. He has been criticized a lot for promoting polygamy. However, Payal got evicted from the show early. She has announced that she will be separating from Armaan.

Imagine Dragons, the legendary pop band, is set to light up the stage with an electrifying performance at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 closing ceremony.

The final match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is slated for May 26 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Before the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders face Sunrisers Hyderabad, the spectators will be treated to a musical performance of Imagine Dragons’ classics, including Thunder, Believer, and Bones.

The band’s lead vocalist, Dan Reynolds, has confirmed their attendance at the highly anticipated match on the scheduled date.

Chestha and Nikhil met and fell in love on the set of Temptation Island. However, after a few months together, the pair broke up after the actress accused Nikhil of cheating on her.

JioCinema, Reliance Industries’ video streaming platform, has launched new subscription plans to compete with Netflix, Disney+Hotstar, and Amazon Prime Video, as well as domestic rivals in the Indian OTT sector.

JioCinema Premium offers ad-free material in several languages, including original series, films, children’s shows, and TV entertainment, on any device (including connected TV sets) for 29 per month. The startup will offer a family subscription for ₹89/month, allowing viewers to watch content on up to four devices simultaneously.

To increase revenue, streaming companies have recently deployed hybrid models (powered by both advertising and subscriptions). JioCinema launched a ₹999 annual subscription last year that includes ad-free Hollywood movies, local-language programming, and sports.

While sports content, such as the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), and some entertainment programming will remain free as part of its ad-supported offering, the new ad-free plans will include original series and films like Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond and Murder In Mahim, among others.

The inaugural event will feature performances by Shahid Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan, and Tiger Shroff, in addition to SRK.

The second season of the WPL will begin on February 23, with the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals facing off in Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The competition will continue until March 17 and will be hosted in Bengaluru and Delhi.

The summit clash will take place on March 17 in New Delhi, with the eliminator on March 15. The upcoming edition will be staged in Delhi and Bengaluru. All matches will commence at 7:30 p.m.

The inaugural event was organised in March 2023 in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. This time, two dynamic cities will share the spotlight, delivering a double dose of cricket frenzy for fans all around India. Five teams—the UP Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians—are set to compete for the renowned title.

Teams have already selected players for their squads following the end of the WPL 2024 auction in December of last year.

The WPL’s 2024 season will follow the same format as the previous year, with the top three teams in the league stage qualifying for the playoffs. The team that finishes first in the league standings will automatically go to the final, while the teams that finish second and third will play in the eliminator on March 15.

Last year, India’s Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians upset Meg Lanning’s Delhi Capitals by seven wickets to win the inaugural season.

Reliance Industries and Walt Disney set to merge Indian media operations

Reliance Industries and Walt Disney have reportedly signed a non-binding term sheet to combine their Indian media operations, according to The Economic Times.

As detailed in The Economic Times report, Viacom18, owned by Reliance, will create a subsidiary that absorbs a significant portion of Star India’s stock, resulting in a shareholding pattern of 51% for Reliance and 49% for Disney in the merged Indian media company.

The merger will also include Jio Cinema, with Reliance expected to maintain a substantial stake and pay cash for controlling stock in the amalgamated entity. Having sealed the term sheet in the UK last week, Reliance and Disney are on track to finalise this significant entertainment and media merger in India by February 2024, reshaping the country’s viewing and streaming landscape.

Despite Reliance’s initial aim to wrap up the deal by January, the mega-merger is slated to undergo all necessary commercial and regulatory approvals by February, according to The Economic Times report. Sources cited by the publication reveal that after months of negotiations the non-binding agreement was signed in London, where Kevin Mayer, a former Disney executive, and Manoj Modi, a trusted aide to Mukesh Ambani, were both present as well.

The merger, if completed, would give rise to one of India’s most substantial entertainment empires, positioning it in competition with TV players like Zee Entertainment and Sony, as well as streaming giants such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. An official announcement of the merger could be made as early as next month. The proposal suggests that even after the completion of any cash and stock swap transaction, Disney is likely to retain a minority stake in the Indian company.

The popular YouTuber has essentially ‘hung a lot of systums’ tonight. Elvish had an exclusive interview with the media after winning the show, and here is what he had to say.

There was a myth that a wildcard contestant can never win the trophy, you changed that. How overwhelming does that feel?

He said, “I too had the same myth that a wild card can never win the show because no one has ever won in the last 17 years, but I did it because the audience showered so much love. So I would really like to thank my audience with folded hands, thankyou so much.

He was further asked about the Weekend Ka Vaar episode where he broke down and that because of Salman Khan’s scolding to Elvish, Salman lost his Instagram followers. He said, “No, he did not scold me, he just showed me the way. Even I have been hearing about his followers dropping, honestly, this is just a rumour, his followers have not gone down.”

When asked if it was hurtful to hear Abhishek mention how a wild card contestant does not deserve to win the show, he said, “No, I actually laughed it off, why would I feel bad?”

Asking about his mystery girl he stated, “Wo mystery girl nahi hai, wo meri girlfriend hai. I will definitely meet her once i reach home.”

Elvish was also asked regarding the ongoing social media war between his and Abhishek’s fans he said, “I think it was a healthy competition and we never wanted anything like this to happen because the two of us were living very peacefully in the house, so if this is happening, I would really request everyone to convert it into a healthy competition again. No hatred to anyone.”

Elvish was also asked if he would accept the offer of Bigg Boss 17. He went to say that, “No, I have really not given it a thought, but if I do, I will share it with you guys.”

So for me Abhishek is also a winner and both of them are really good friends of mine.”

When they couldn’t put a finger upon me, they did what they had to or said what they had to. But, I understood their psyche and let them have their way.”
