The Tamil version of Kangana’s ‘Thalaivi’ gets ‘U’ certificate

The Tamil version of Kangana Ranaut’s, Thalaivi has been awarded the U certificate without cuts. The filmmakers will now apply for the certificate in their Hindi and Telugu versions too.

Thalaivi is based on the life of actor-politician, Jayalalitha. Kangana will be playing the lead role as the actor-politician. The makers had initially titled the film ‘Jaya’, however, later it was changed to ‘Thalaivi’.

When asked about the release date of the film, a source close to the production house said, “We plan to release the film in August this year and only in cinema halls.”

In an interview, Kangana seemed to be pleased with her work in the movie and said, “The kind of love and encouragement I have experienced here, I don’t want to leave, I am here now. I hope to do many more films here.” She was referring to the South Indian Film Industry and how they had been so welcoming, supportive and encouraged the idea of inclusivity.

The filmmakers had big plans to release the film in cinema halls across Chennai and Mumbai, however, the ravaging second-wave of the Covid pandemic has disrupted their release plans.

The initial release day was to be April 23, 2021, which has now been pushed to a later date.

While campaigning for elections in Thalli, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, March 31, the Union Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh ahead legislative assembly elections in the state.

Rajnath Singh, while addressing the rally, blamed DMK for gaining votes on communal basis. He said, “The DMK tries to gain votes on communal basis. But the BJP does not do politics of caste, creed, and religion. We do politics of humanity and justice. We firmly believe in justice for all and appeasement of none.”

Rajnath Singh also praised the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa for her support to the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said, “We can never forget that the first person to support our former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee to form the govt was Jayalalitha Ji. Inspired by the ideals of MGR, we will work for the empowerment of weaker sections of society,” as quoted by news agency ANI.

The Union Minister also shared some glimpse of his rally in Thalli constituency on Twitter and wrote, “The people here want the double engine government for growth and prosperity of the state.” Obviously, by saying ‘double engine government’, he meant to the alliance of BJP with AIADMK.

The sixteenth legislative assembly election is to be held in a single phase on April 6, 2021. There are 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu. The results for the same will be declared on May 2, 2021.

On Tuesday, March 23rd, Kangana celebrated her 34th birthday with the trailer launch of her upcoming movie Thalaivi with a grand event in Chennai and Mumbai.

Reacting to her performance in the trailer filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took to his twitter handle and reacted, ‘the actor deserves a salute for her performance.’ He wrote, “Hey @KanganaTeam I might disagree with u on certain overreaches in some specific regions but I want to salute u for being so super duper special #ThalaiviTrailer is just MINDBLOWING and I am sure JAYALALITHA must be thrilled in heaven.”

Kangana Ranaut will be seen in the upcoming film ‘Thalaivi’ is all set for its trailer release on Tuesday, March 23rd. Ahead of it, the actor has shared some of her pictures from the set. They give a glimpse of the massive transformation in weight that she had undergone.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is currently busy in dubbing for her upcoming film ‘Thalaivi.’ As the film is in its last phase of production, the actress shared an emotional post, confessing that she is already starting to miss the journey. Dedicating a series of posts to her director Vijay, Kangana said that the first thing she noticed about him is that he says no to tea, coffee, wine, parties.

The movie is all set to release in theatres on April 23. The makers made the announcement on the occasion of the 73rd birth anniversary of actress-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa, whose life is depicted in the film.

V K Sasikala, the closest aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who was recently released from the jail on January 21, addressed her supporters for the first time after her release from prison and said she is going to engage in serious politics, cementing the ruling AIADMK’s fears.

Days after her release from Bangalore Central Prison, Sasikala who was en route to Chennai addressed the reporters and the party cadre at Nekkuthi tollgate in Tirupathur district. Answering a question on the AIADMK leaders’ opposition to her use of party flag, Sasikala said, “This shows they are scared.”

She also said that she was a slave to the affection of party cadre and people and would talk about everything in detail later. Talking about the party she said that it had risen like a phoenix from ashes whenever it was facing problems. The party will arise like a phoenix this time too.

Sasikala said the enemy should not capture the government and she was wishing that everyone should work unitedly like the children of the same mother under the AIADMK banner. She thanked the Karnataka government and doctors and nurses in a government hospital in Bengaluru for saving her when she was suffering from Coronavirus.

Sasikala returned to Tamil Nadu for the first time since her release on January 27 after completing a four-year jail term in Bengaluru in the Rs 66.6 crore disproportionate assets case, amid indications of a confrontation with the ruling party which she once controlled.

Earlier this year, the makers released a teaser featuring Arvind Swami as the late CM MG Ramachandran, which was a huge hit. Kangana Ranaut’s look for the film was released before Arvind Swami’s teaser. Reports also suggest that National Award-winning actor Priyamani will be playing the role if Jayalalithaa’s close aide VK Sasikala.
