Jasmeet Singh Bindra, an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) from the 1997 batch, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA). The appointment is for a period of five years, commencing from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways issued the appointment order on 13 May 2026, underlining Bindra’s new role in accordance with the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021.
