BJP removed Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Parliamentary board

The Bharatiya Janata Party released a new list of members of the parliamentary as the party chief, J.P Nadda reconstituted the board.

The Parliamentary Board is the governing body of the Bharatiya Janata Party which takes day-to-day decisions on behalf of the National Executive. The National Executive sets up a Parliamentary Board consisting of the Party President and ten other members. The Parliamentary Board supervises the activities of the Parliamentary and Legislative groups of the Party.

The Board has removed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. They were also pulled out of the central election committee.

New names on the board include former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, former Assam Chief Minister and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Sudha Yadav, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, and Satyanarayan Jatia.

The BJP’s central election committee has new members that include, Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Bhupendra Yadav and Om Mathur.

BS Yediyurappa and Sarbananda Sonowal find a place in both the panels.

Jagat Prakash Nadda, BJP President tests positive for COVID-19

Jagat Prakash Nadda Party President of Bhartiya Janata Party has tested positive today for COVID-19. Sharing the information on Twitter, the politician said he was under home quarantine and following all measures prescribed by doctors. He also urged all those who came in his contact to self-isolate and get tested.

His tweet read, “I got myself tested on observing initial symptoms of COVID-19 and was found positive. My health is fine and I am under home-isolation, following all directions of the doctors. I request all who came in my contact in the past few days to self-isolate and undergo tests,” he wrote on Twitter.

Nadda has also alleged Trinamool Congress workers had reportedly threw stones over their convey at Sirakol in Diamond Harbour area of South 24 Parganas district, where he had gone to address a rally. Nadda called the attack “unprecedented” and commented that the state has slipped into “complete lawlessness and goonda raj”.

All BJP leaders in the convoy got injured, except Nadda as he was in a bullet-proof car, Mukul Roy, national vice-president of BJP said.

“Bengal has descended into an era of tyranny, anarchy and darkness under the Trinamool rule. The manner in which political violence has been institutionalized and brought to the extreme in West Bengal under TMC rule is sad and worrying,” Amit Shah, home minister, tweeted.

Those present at the scene said, that the alleged TMC workers, some carrying sticks and iron rods and others armed with bricks, blocked the road near Sirakul in South 24 Pargana district adjoining Kolkata with motorcyles. Seven persons were arrested in West Bengal for their alleged involvement in the attack, according to officials.

BJP President J P Naddha to meet Padma Shri awardee ‘Kisan Chachi’ on his two day visit to Bihar

BJP chief J P Nadda will meet Padma Shri awardee Rajkumari Devi, popularly known as ‘Kisan Chachi’, during his two-day visit to Bihar commencing on Friday evening.

An inspiration for over 300 women of Muzaffarpur and its adjoining districts to form self-help groups to make pickles, ‘papad’ and other items. Devi also helps them grow fruits, vegetables and food grains.

On Saturday, Nadda will also interact with ‘makhana’ (fox nut) and fish cultivators of Darbhanga and litchi growers of Muzaffarpur, BJP social media cell convenor Manan Krishna said. He will arrive in Patna on Friday evening to attend the meeting of the party’s newly constituted 70-member Bihar election steering committee, BJP state media in-charge, Ashok Bhatt, said.

Former Maharashtra chief minister and Bihar election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis and BJP national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav will also be present in the meeting, he said.

Bihar is likely to go for assembly elections in October-November.
