Israeli ‘Balloons of Hope’ campaign soars with messages of solidarity amidst conflict

The Embassy of Israel in India has expressed solidarity with the families of hostages held by Hamas through the “Balloons of Hope: Bring the Hostages Home” campaign. In a video shared on the microblogging site ‘X,’ two women were seen releasing 229 blue and white balloons.

These balloons symbolize the wish for the safe return of the hostages who have been held since the October 7 assault. It’s a poignant display of support for those affected by this crisis.

In a related development, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the successful targeting of Rateb Abu Sahiban, the commander of Hamas’ naval forces in the Gaza City Brigade, in an overnight airstrike. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, IDF Spokesman, confirmed that the military is progressing through the stages of the conflict in Gaza, with ground forces actively involved in operations within the Gaza Strip.

These actions by Israel, both in terms of expressing solidarity and its military efforts, underscore the seriousness with which the situation is being addressed. The campaign and the military operations reflect Israel’s commitment to resolving the crisis and ensuring the safety of those affected by the ongoing conflict.

An anonymous report said Sayed Zulfi Bukhari who lives in the United Kingdom arrived at ben Gurion airport from Islamabad on a connecting flight for London in the last week of November taking the advantage of the British passport.

According to a Israeli media report, The Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan had made a secret visit to Israel last November for a meeting with the foreign ministry officials and the Mossad chief.

The British Pakistani businessman Sayed Bukhari who served as Khan’s special assistant on overseas Pakistan till may 2021 conveyed a message from the Pakistani premier to the foreign ministry of Israel officials and another message from Pakistan army Chief F2 then Israeli spy chief Yossi Cohen.

The businessman Bukhari denied the report in a tweet saying that he did not go to Israel. The funniest part about this is that the Pakistani papers say that he went to Israel based on Israeli news source and the Israeli newspaper say that he went to Israel based on Pakistani sources he wonders who this imaginative Pakistani source was.

During December 2020, Israel Hayom reported that a secret visit to Israel by a senior advisor to the leader of the large Muslim majority country e had met despite of the two countries having no diplomatic relationships at this time the newspaper didn’t name the Muslim country which was involved.

Later it was identified that the country was Pakistan after getting the clearance from the Israeli military censor. The Pakistani officials had come against the backdrop of the Muslim countries such as United Arab Emirates Sudan Morocco and Bahrain for normalising relations with Israel and a debate within the diplomatic circle and reevaluating the country’s position on Israel.

In an interview in August last year the Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan held said that they cannot ever accept Israel as long as Palestinians are not given their rights and there is no just settlements

Blast near Israel Embassy in Delhi: Four Ladakh students arrested

In January, a crude bomb went off near the Embassy of Israel on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road in Delhi. It reportedly shattered windscreens of three cars on the road.

The case is being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Special Cell in Delhi registered a case of “conspiracy” behind the blast. It picked up the four students from Kargil.

The blast took place near the Israel Embassy on the evening of January 29. The Delhi Police special cell has arrested four students from Ladakh in connection to the low-intensity IED blast.

The Indian Express was informed by police sources that the students were detained from Kargil. On Thursday, they were brought to Delhi for questioning.

The NIA had declared last week, a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for the identification of two people captured on CCTV camera. They were captured planting explosive material outside the Israeli embassy.

The case was transferred to the NIA after the special cell failed to get any breakthrough.

A senior police officer said, “The New Delhi range of special cell had lodged an FIR of criminal conspiracy and they were conducting their investigation alongside. Police have zeroed in on four local students of Kargil. Police are questioning them and trying to ascertain their role.”
