Oppo Pad Air created a stir in the market as it was extremely difficult to recommend an Android-powered tablet for basic usage, but things have changed since its arrival. The Android tablet space, of late, has seen a couple of promising entries from different brands, including Motorola, Samsung, Realme and the latest one being from Oppo. Some of the major differences between Oppo Pad Air and iPad Air are listed below:

DISPLAY

There are a few more things that the Oppo Pad Air has borrowed from Apple’s iPad Air. One of the things that you might notice is the flat-edged design. In terms of thickness, the Pad Air measures around 6.9 mm, which makes it a lot slimmer than the iPad Air and also easy to carry to places. The dual-tone texture on the rear panel of the Pad Air makes it look quite attractive when compared to the competition out there. While iPad Air is an all-aluminum tablet with Apple’s current design ethos of uniform bezels and flat sides.

DESIGN

PERFORMANCE AND CAMERA

The Oppo Pad Air draws its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC coupled with up to 4GB of RAM. It is the same processor which has been used in a couple of mid-range phones that were unveiled recently. On the software front, the Oppo Pad Air runs on ColorOS 12.1 for tablets. In iPad Air, The 12MP Ultra Wide front camera enables Centre Stage, making video calls more natural and shooting content more fun. As one moves around, the camera automatically pans to keep you centered on the spot.

BATTERY

The battery of the Oppo Pad Air is one of its strongest areas. The tablet houses a 7100mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The Pad Air could handle an average usage and lasts more more than two days on a single charge. As for charging, it takes almost an hour to refill completely. For tablets with a 10.36-inch display, getting a battery life of more than 2-3 days is quite good. In iPad Air, one of the most under-appreciated features is its fantastic battery life. Even with a high-resolution screen and a powerful processor, Apple’s tablet offers a battery life of 4 to 6 (or more) hours.

GAMING

Most of the tablets at this price point aren’t really fit for heavy gaming, similar is the case with the Oppo Pad Air. While with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, the new model of iPad Air is up to 60% faster than the previous ones along with twice the graphics processing speed .

In a few hours from now, Apple will be ready to unveil its new product line. The Apple event ‘Time Flies’ will commence at (IST) 10:30 PM, the live stream of which can be watched through Apple’s website, YouTube channel, and Apple TV app.

What is expected to be announced?

A new iPad Air, Watch Series 6, cheaper Apple Watch, AirTags, One Services bundle, among others. Rumours and leaks suggested that Apple could reveal more details about the latest iOS 14 software which was first announced at Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2020 event.
