The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday officially declared the results of the Class 12 main examination for the academic session 2025–2026, bringing relief and excitement to more than 18 lakh students across the country.

According to reports, the overall pass percentage this year stood at 85.20 per cent. Students from Science, Commerce and Arts streams can now access their scorecards through the official CBSE result portals and digital platforms including DigiLocker and UMANG.

CBSE officials said students can check their marks using their roll number, school number and admit card credentials on the official websites. The board has also activated digital marksheets and certificates through DigiLocker to reduce website traffic and simplify access for students.

The Class 12 board examinations were conducted earlier this year across thousands of examination centres in India and abroad under strict security and monitoring arrangements. Lakhs of students had been anxiously waiting for the announcement amid intense competition for admissions to universities, engineering institutes and professional courses.

As in previous years, girls reportedly performed better overall than boys in the examination. Detailed stream-wise performance, regional statistics and topper information are expected to be released separately by the board.

CBSE has advised students to carefully verify details mentioned in their provisional scorecards, including name, subjects and marks obtained. Officials clarified that the online result remains provisional and original mark sheets will be distributed later through respective schools.

Students dissatisfied with their marks will also be allowed to apply for verification, re-evaluation and photocopies of answer sheets as per the board’s post-result process. CBSE is expected to release the detailed schedule for these procedures shortly.

The result declaration comes at a crucial time for students preparing for undergraduate admissions, competitive entrance examinations and scholarship applications. Universities across India are expected to begin updating admission timelines following the release of the board results.

CBSE remains one of India’s largest school education boards, affiliated with thousands of schools in India and abroad. The board conducts Class 10 and Class 12 examinations annually under the Ministry of Education.
