The MoU was formalised by Dr. M. K. Shanmugha Sundaram, Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, and Mr. Vynsley Fernandes, Whole-Time Director of Hinduja Global Solutions and MD & CEO of ONEOTT Intertainment Limited. The signing was witnessed by Shri Anil Rajbhar, Minister for Labour and Employment, along with other dignitaries.

OIL will implement capacity-building programmes, skill training workshops, and structured training initiatives. The company will also provide research-based insights and technical recommendations to support these programmes. Dr. Sundaram emphasised the importance of aligning skill development with industry needs, while Mr. Fernandes highlighted the role of digital transformation in India’s economic progress.

The Uttar Pradesh Employment Department will coordinate the implementation of these programmes, collaborating with relevant institutions and stakeholders. OIL’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to support digital inclusion and connectivity-led development across India.

Hinduja Global Solutions announced that its broadband vertical, neOTT Intertainment Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Transformation Commission to roll out Project GANGA (Government Assisted Network for Growth & Advancement) in Uttar Pradesh.

The agreement marks a significant step toward expanding digital infrastructure and improving broadband connectivity across the state. The MoU was signed by Manoj Kumar Singh, CEO of the State Transformation Commission, and Vynsley Fernandes, Whole-Time Director of HGS and Managing Director & CEO of neOTT Intertainment Ltd., in the presence of Suresh Kumar Khanna, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Finance & Parliamentary Affairs, along with senior officials and dignitaries.

Project GANGA is designed as a large-scale digital inclusion programme aimed at empowering youth and encouraging entrepreneurship in rural and semi-urban areas. Under the initiative, around 8,000–10,000 local entrepreneurs at the Nyaya Panchayat level will be enabled to operate as independent Digital Service Providers (DSPs). These DSPs will deliver high-speed broadband connectivity to communities across the state, significantly improving digital access.

The initiative is expected to connect more than 2 million households in the next 2–3 years, while also creating over 100,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. A notable aspect of the programme is its focus on inclusivity, with a significant number of opportunities anticipated for women entrepreneurs.

Project GANGA is also aligned with the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader goals of strengthening digital infrastructure for education, healthcare, and governance services. Entrepreneurs participating as DSPs will receive structured support, including technical training, financial assistance, network deployment support, and technology enablement.

neOTT Intertainment Ltd. will leverage the digital infrastructure and operational strength of Hinduja Global Solutions and NXTDIGITAL to execute the project. The combined ecosystem currently connects more than 5 million homes across India, operates in over 4,500 pin codes covering 1,500 cities and towns, and works with more than 15,000 franchise partners. The network is supported by over 200,000 kilometres of fibre infrastructure.

Hinduja Global Solutions Limited has finalized an agreement to sell optical fibre assets to Indusind Media and Communications Limited.

In 2024, the deal is expected to be worth 2.08 billion rupees. HGSL is a subsidiary of IMCL. As per Regulation 30 of SEBI , 2015, HGSL released a formal statement regarding the agreement in an exchange filing.

The current filing notes the continuation of the previous communication, which was dated March 20, 2024. HGSL intends to sell its optical fibre assets as part of the company’s strategy to reorganize its operations and refocus on its primary business areas.

At the same time, IMCL aims to strengthen its infrastructure and bolster its presence in the telecommunications market by acquiring these assets.
