Diplomats from 12 nations meet BJP leadership in Delhi under ‘Know BJP’ outreach initiative

Heads of Missions and senior diplomats from 12 countries arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday to participate in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s outreach programme titled ‘Know BJP’, an initiative aimed at familiarising foreign representatives with the party’s ideology, governance model and political journey.

The interaction was held in the presence of senior BJP leaders, including party national president Nitin Nabin, and featured discussions on India’s evolving political landscape, democratic framework, governance priorities and international partnerships.

According to party officials, the ‘Know BJP’ initiative has been designed as a diplomatic and political engagement platform to provide foreign envoys with deeper insights into the BJP’s organisational structure, electoral growth, policy vision and governance approach under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sources said the interaction covered a wide range of subjects including India’s economic transformation, infrastructure growth, digital governance, foreign policy priorities, women empowerment initiatives, youth participation, technology-driven reforms and India’s expanding role in global affairs.

Senior BJP leaders reportedly briefed the visiting diplomats on the party’s historical evolution from its Jana Sangh roots to becoming the dominant political force in India. Discussions also included India’s democratic institutions, electoral participation and policy continuity under successive BJP-led governments.

The diplomats were also informed about flagship government schemes related to welfare delivery, financial inclusion, healthcare, infrastructure development and India’s push towards becoming a major global manufacturing and technology hub.

Party officials described the event as part of broader efforts to strengthen engagement between political institutions and the diplomatic community.

The BJP has organised similar interactions in the past under the ‘Know BJP’ initiative, inviting ambassadors, diplomats and international delegations to better understand India’s political ecosystem and governance structure.

Observers note that such programmes have gained greater importance as India’s geopolitical influence and global economic relevance continue to expand, attracting increasing international interest in the country’s domestic political framework.

The interaction also comes at a time when India is actively deepening strategic and economic ties with multiple countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific region.

Photographs and visuals from the venue showed diplomats interacting with BJP leaders, reviewing presentation material and participating in discussions related to India’s development trajectory and policy priorities.

Officials indicated that the programme included presentations on the BJP’s electoral outreach model, grassroots organisational network and initiatives focused on inclusive governance.

The BJP leadership emphasised India’s democratic diversity and highlighted the role of political stability in driving economic growth and international partnerships.

The event is expected to further strengthen political-level diplomatic engagement between India and participating countries amid evolving global geopolitical dynamics.
