Tragic turn of events, farmer leader calls off ‘Delhi Chalo’ march after protester’s death

The death of a protestor at the Haryana border forced the farmer leaders to call off the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased protester was killed on February 21 near the Khanauri border area after suffering a head injury during a confrontation between the demonstrators and security personnel.

The farmer leaders decided to examine the situation and decide on the next course of action, pausing the march at the Khanauri boundary. It is anticipated that they will declare their choice by Friday night.

Around 12 police officers were injured in the altercation between farmers on protest and the Haryana police, in addition to one protester losing their life. At the boundary between Data Singh and Khanauri, protestors encircled the police from all sides, setting a conflict. They added insult to injury by setting fire to stubble that contained chilli powder, making it difficult for the cops to breathe and see.

Three police personnel have died as a result of the ongoing farmers’ protest, Haryana police announced in a sombre update. Following the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, Haryana police sub-inspector Vijay Tohana was stationed at the Tohana border. On Wednesday, his health declined and he passed dead.

The event has caused the farmer leaders to reevaluate their plan due to concerns about the growing tensions between the protestors and police officials. The march has been momentarily halted due to the seriousness of the situation and the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances behind the death.

Monu Manesar was arrested on September 12 by Nuh police because of an inflammatory message he posted on social media. The police arrested on the terms of the post, which was tending to create religious chaos and violence. A similar incident was recorded on July 31, when a religious march taken out by VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) and Bajrang Dal was attacked by a mob in Nuh, resulting in death of six people and injury of 88 people.

Mohit Yadav alias ‘Cow vigilante’ Monu Manesar was granted bail in his connection with Nuh violence. However, the celebration of bail was soon overtook by the other cases on Manesar registered by Rajasthan Police for the murder of two Muslim men, Nasir (35) and Junaid (27), in February.

The two cousins were brutally assaulted and killed under suspicion of being cow smugglers. On Feburary 16, Rajasthan police recovered the bodies from burned SUV in Loharu, Bhiwani situated on Rajasthan-Haryana border.

He was taken by Rajasthan police after it obtained a transit remand from a court in Haryana’s Nuh last month. Previous week , Rajasthan Police also confirmed that Manesar wished to join gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang(Accused in murder of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, aka Sidhu Moosewala) confirmed via video chat between the two.

Few days ago, a court sent him to 14 day judicial custody after he was brought back from Rajasthan.

In the midst of the casteist slur issue, actor Prince Narula has defended his wife Yuvika Chaudhary once more. Yuvika was charged with making a derogatory remark to caste in a video. Yuvika stated that she had no idea what the term meant.

According to an official, the Haryana Police registered a FIR against Yuvika last week under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Dalit rights activist Rajat Kalsan filed a complaint against her, alleging that the actress made derogatory and unacceptable statements regarding the Scheduled Caste community in the video, a copy of which he turned over to the police. According to the police, the complaint was submitted to Hansi Superintendent of Police Nikita Ahlawat on May 26 in this regard.

Yuvika Apologized on twitter saying that, “First of all, with folded hands, I apologise to you’ll. I used the word unknowingly and I didn’t know the meaning. Please forgive a mistake that happened unknowingly,” she said in Hindi.

Prince also showed his support for her in a series of videos on his Instagram page. “None of us knew the meaning of the word. When we received your messages, we looked it up online and we felt really bad. Yuvi immediately edited it soon after. I hope you guys understand nothing was done intentionally. We didn’t know the meaning of the word. Even I was there, if it is Yuvi’s fault, it is my fault as well. We both didn’t know the meaning of the word. Haryana Police arrested seven people for betting on IPL matches

On Wednesday, Haryana police arrested total seven people in two seperate incidents for betting on IPL matches. In the first case the police got to know that some people were involved in betting on IPL in Kurukshetra. Police then immediately raided the location and seized four people for betting on a IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.

In another incident, which took place at Nuh district, the police busted a betting racket and arrested three accused on charges of betting activities in IPL 2020.

A spokesperson of Haryana Police told ANI, that police also recovered cash, laptops, TV with set-up box, betting register and mobile phones from the accused. Further investigation is still under way on the matter.
