Eicher Motors unveils Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 APEX with new features

Royal Enfield, a leading name in the mid-size motorcycle segment, has launched the 2026 Guerrilla 450 APEX, a model designed to enhance street performance with its sportier features and urban agility. The launch took place at the GRRR Nights festival in Guwahati, marking a significant addition to Royal Enfield‘s portfolio.

The 2026 Guerrilla 450 APEX is built around the Sherpa engine, offering a lower riding posture and road-focused tyres, which enhance its cornering capabilities. The APEX variant introduces new 17” Vredestein Centuro ST tyres, known for their grip on wet and low friction surfaces, and features a sportier riding position with aluminium handlebars.

In addition to the APEX variant, existing Flash and Dash variants will now come with improved CEAT GRIPP XL RE tyres. These tyres have an enhanced compound and tread pattern, providing better grip in wet conditions. The Dash variant also introduces a new Twilight Blue colourway, adding to its visual appeal.

The 2026 Guerrilla 450 continues to deliver strong performance with its 40PS and 40Nm output, ensuring stability and agility across various road conditions. The motorcycle is equipped with Royal Enfield’s Tripper Dash, a 4-inch TFT display that offers Google Maps-powered navigation and smartphone connectivity.

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Chief Commercial Officer at Royal Enfield, highlighted the significance of the launch, coinciding with Royal Enfield’s 125th anniversary and the production of 125,000 motorcycles on the Sherpa platform. The company has also partnered with Fairtex, introducing a limited-edition range of gear and a custom motorcycle based on the Guerrilla 450 APEX.

The 2026 Guerrilla 450 is available for bookings starting today, with retail sales commencing on March 31st, 2026. The APEX variant is priced at ₹2,49,194 for APEX Red and ₹2,56,387 for APEX Black and APEX Green, ex-showroom Chennai.

Additionally, Royal Enfield offers a 7-year Extended Warranty and Roadside Assistance, enhancing customer confidence and ownership experience.

Oil India sees Numaligarh–Siliguri pipeline capacity rise to 5.5 MMTPA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the enhanced capacity of Oil India‘s Numaligarh–Siliguri Product Pipeline at a public event in Guwahati on March 13, 2026.

The pipeline, originally designed for 1.72 MMTPA, now supports 5.5 MMTPA to accommodate the Numaligarh Refinery’s expansion from 3.0 MMTPA to 9.0 MMTPA. This upgrade aligns with the Government of India’s Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for the North-East, achieved through infrastructure enhancements, including converting pigging stations into Intermediate Pumping Stations and upgrading facilities at various terminals.

The project, completed as a brownfield initiative, cost approximately ₹750 crore, saving significantly from the approved ₹860 crore budget. It generated around 4.1 million man-hours of employment over three years in Assam and West Bengal, marking a significant boost to the region’s petroleum product transportation infrastructure.

Akasa Air introduces facial recognition at 9 airports, expands to 21 cities

Akasa Air, backed by the Rakesh Jhunjhunwala group, has launched Digi Yatra’s facial recognition system across nine major airports in India. Passengers can now save time and bypass queues at airports in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Varanasi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Pune.

The DigiYatra service provides a fully biometric-based self-boarding solution, ensuring a seamless travel experience. Travellers can register their ID and biometric data, along with flight details, on the DigiYatra app before entering the terminal. State-of-the-art biometric technology then authenticates and verifies passengers’ identities as they move through the airport, prioritizing safety and security.

To enroll for DigiYatra, passengers should follow these steps:

1. Download the DigiYatra App from the Android or Apple store and register using their Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
2. Link their Aadhaar through Digi Locker, ensuring prior registration.
3. Ensure that the name on their Aadhaar matches the name used for flight booking.
4. Take a clear selfie, verify it with Aadhaar, and save the credentials.
5. Add their boarding pass to the DigiYatra App at least 24 hours before the flight and await confirmation.

Akasa Air serves 21 cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Port Blair, Ayodhya, Gwalior, Srinagar, and Doha (Qatar).

Akasa Air will begin offering flights to Guwahati and Agartala from October

Beginning next month, Akasa Air will commence flights to Assam and Tripura as part of its northeastern India expansion. From October 21 onward, the airline anticipates beginning service to Guwahati and Agartala.

According to material on the business website, Akasa intends to connect Guwahati and Bengaluru by direct aircraft, with prices beginning at Rs 8,644 commencing on October 21. Additionally, the airline will run a direct route from Guwahati to Agartala with prices beginning at Rs 3,002.

Currently, IndiGo, AirAsia India, and Vistara offer direct flights between Guwahati and Bengaluru. IndiGo and Flybig offer direct flights between Agartala and Guwahati.

The late billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala supported Akasa Air, which just announced Delhi as the sixth location on its network. Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, and Mumbai are also connected by this airline.

By 10 October 2022, it intends to run more than 250 flights per week on nine routes after beginning operations on August 7. The airline will shortly expand its fleet with a fifth aircraft.

3 more Shiv Sena MLAs join Eknath Shinde’s camp in Guwahati

Guwahati, June 23: As the political temperature soars over the crisis in Maharashtra politics. Three more MLAs have reportedly joined the Eknath Shinde camp on Thursday at the Radisson Blu hotel in Guwahati.

The Shinde camp is now claiming that it has support of 37 MLAs. Amid the escalating political crisis in Maharashtra. A resolution passed by the Shiv Sena Legislature Party carrying signatures of 34 MLAs that rebel leader Eknath Shinde continues to be the leader. Has been sent to the state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Following the political crisis, Shiv Sena had removed Eknath Shinde. As the party’s legislative party leader. However, the rebels have hit back with the resolution.

Meanwhile, chief minister Uddhav Thackrey on Wednesday night vacated his official residence ‘Varsha’ and said that he was ready to quit as CM, but the rebel MLAs must come and tell him on his face that they did not have the trust in him.

The political crisis facing the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra deepened on Wednesday. After rebel Shinde claimed the support of 46 MLAs.
