Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led central government during the Sadbhav Yatra in Gurugram, accusing...

Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led central government during the Sadbhav Yatra in Gurugram, accusing the ruling party of creating a system of “election manipulation” in multiple states and alleging that democratic institutions were being controlled for political gain.

Addressing supporters and local residents during the march in Haryana, Gandhi claimed that elections in states including Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Assam were being influenced through manipulation of voter lists and institutional control.

“You know Haryana well. In Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, and now Bengal and Assam, they have created a system of election manipulation. They delete lakhs of names and add lakhs of new names,” Gandhi said during his speech.

The Congress MP further alleged that the Election Commission and sections of the bureaucracy were functioning under the influence of the ruling establishment. He claimed that the BJP believed its political dominance could not be challenged but warned that “their time is coming.”

Gandhi also accused the government of favouring large industrial groups while ordinary citizens continued to struggle with unemployment and economic pressure. Referring to infrastructure projects and strategic assets, he alleged that airports, ports, power plants and other public assets were being handed over to select corporate entities.

“The public now understands that elections are being manipulated and that wealth is being taken away from ordinary people and given to big industrialists,” he said.

A major part of Gandhi’s address focused on unemployment, particularly among young people. He said joblessness had emerged as one of the biggest concerns not only in Haryana but across the country.

“When I asked about Haryana’s biggest issues, people said unemployment is the biggest problem. Young people are not getting jobs. Degrees are being given in private universities and colleges, but there are no jobs afterward,” Gandhi stated.

He further claimed that several small and medium industries had shut down, worsening employment opportunities for youth. Gandhi also alleged that young people were increasingly being distracted by social media platforms instead of receiving meaningful economic opportunities.

“Young people are being distracted and addicted to social media platforms like Instagram,” he added.

The remarks come amid heightened political activity ahead of upcoming electoral contests in several states. The BJP has repeatedly rejected opposition allegations of electoral manipulation and has defended the functioning of constitutional institutions, including the Election Commission.

The Sadbhav Yatra is part of Congress’ broader outreach campaign aimed at mobilising support around issues such as unemployment, inflation and governance. Gandhi’s latest comments are expected to intensify political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP in the coming days.

Smartworks Coworking Spaces Limited reports a 31% increase in revenue to ₹1,796 crore for FY26, achieving its first full-year profitability.

Smartworks Coworking Spaces Limited, India’s largest managed office platform by area, has reported a significant financial performance for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The company achieved a 31% increase in revenue, reaching ₹1,796 crore, marking a robust year of growth as a newly listed entity.

In its first financial year as a listed company, Smartworks delivered a strong performance across several financial metrics. The company’s normalised EBITDA surged by 75% to ₹314 crore, with a margin expansion of 440 basis points to 17.5%. Additionally, the company’s normalised operating cash flow exceeded its EBITDA, with an OCF-to-EBITDA ratio of 1.1x.

Smartworks also reported a remarkable improvement in its return on capital employed (ROCE), which more than doubled to 16% from 7.3% in the previous year. Notably, Smartworks achieved its first full-year profitability with a reported PAT of ₹11 crore, compared to a loss of ₹63 crore in FY25.

For the fourth quarter of FY26, Smartworks recorded its strongest-ever revenue of ₹520 crore, up 45% year-on-year and 10% quarter-on-quarter. The company’s normalised EBITDA for the quarter rose by 71% year-on-year to ₹99 crore, with a margin of 19.0%.

The company enters FY27 with strong forward visibility, having secured 100% of its supply for the year and 75% visibility for FY28.

Smartworks’ operational highlights for Q4 FY26 include a total footprint of 16.1 million square feet across 66 centres in 15 cities, with an operational area of 10.1 million square feet. The company serves over 770 enterprise clients, with more than 90% of rental revenue derived from these clients.

Ashiana Housing reports record annual sales of ₹2,421.13 crore for FY26, driven by strong performance in the 'Senior Living' segment and successful project launches.

Ashiana Housing has reported its highest ever annual sales, reaching ₹2,421.13 crore for the financial year 2025-26. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the company, underscoring its robust performance in the real estate sector.

During the fourth quarter of FY26, Ashiana Housing booked an area of 11.19 lakh square feet, contributing significantly to the annual total of 26.73 lakh square feet. The value of the area sold in Q4 FY26 amounted to ₹1,289.70 crore, a substantial increase compared to ₹574.73 crore in Q4 FY25.

The company also recorded its highest sales in the ‘Senior Living’ segment, with a sales value of ₹570.15 crore for FY26. This segment saw the booking of 569 units, covering 7.37 lakh square feet, compared to 430 units and 5.41 lakh square feet in FY25, which had a sales value of ₹382.90 crore.

In Q4 FY26, Ashiana Housing booked 665 units, a notable increase from the 357 units booked in the previous quarter and 597 units in the same quarter of the previous year. The company launched 849 units in Q4 FY26, including projects like Ashiana Advik Phase-III and Ashiana Tarang Phase-VII in Bhiwadi, Ashiana Aaroham Phase-I & II in Gurugram, Ashiana Malhar Phase-IV and Ashiana Amodh Phase-III in Pune, and Ashiana Swarang Phase-III in Chennai. Of these, 394 units were sold, covering 7.62 lakh square feet, with a sales value of ₹1,018.70 crore.

The higher sales figures in Q4 FY26 compared to Q3 FY26 and Q4 FY25 are primarily attributed to the launch of Aaroham Phase-I and Phase-II in Gurugram, which alone accounted for 5.44 lakh square feet with a sales value of ₹832.50 crore.

Additionally, the company commenced handovers for Ashiana Shubham Phase-V in Chennai and Ashiana Ekansh Phase-II in Jaipur during the fourth quarter.

TARC Limited launches TARC Ishvara in Gurugram, expanding its development to over 9 acres with a GDV of ₹3,600 crore. The project features 518 residences with a focus on open living environments.

TARC Limited has announced the launch of TARC Ishvara, a new residential development located in Sector 63A, Gurugram. This launch follows the RERA approval for an additional phase of the project, marking the completion of a masterplan designed as a cohesive residential ecosystem. The development is characterised by openness, proportion, and architectural discipline.

The introduction of Ishvara was facilitated by the strategic acquisition of an adjacent land parcel, expanding the total development area to over 9 acres. The project now includes six towers with 518 residences, increasing the overall development footprint to nearly 1.7 million sq. ft. The Gross Development Value (GDV) of the development is estimated at ₹3,600 crore, enhancing long-term value creation. The site will benefit from dual entry access via 84-metre and 24-metre-wide roads, improving connectivity and accessibility.

Ishvara epitomises TARC Ishva’s core philosophy of Four-side Open Residences. Each residence is designed to be open on all four sides, allowing for abundant natural light, continuous cross-ventilation, uninterrupted panoramic views, and enhanced privacy. This approach ensures homes that are expansive, breathable, and private, a rarity in dense urban settings.

The design of Ishvara is informed by the Golden Ratio and Indian spatial planning principles, embedded into the development’s core planning. The project features central greens inspired by the Brahmasthan, carefully calibrated tower placement, private elevator cores for each residence, and thoughtfully designed arrival and movement sequences. These elements create a living experience defined by balance, orientation, and spatial clarity.

Amar Sarin, Managing Director & CEO of TARC Limited, commented on the launch, stating, “Ishvara is not simply another development, it is the completion of a vision. The strong customer response reinforces the growing preference for thoughtfully designed, open living environments. With Ishvara, we are not only expanding the scale of the development but elevating its original design intent.”

Strategically located along Golf Course Extension Road, TARC Ishva offers seamless connectivity to key commercial and business hubs, leading educational institutions, premium healthcare facilities, and high-end hospitality and lifestyle destinations, while maintaining a low-density, open living environment.

The launch of Ishvara reflects a broader shift in luxury housing preferences, moving beyond conventional specifications to more fundamental aspects of living, including air movement, natural light, spatial orientation, privacy, and architectural proportion.

This launch marks the inception of a broader development pipeline, with upcoming projects envisioned at a significantly larger scale, featuring expansive landscapes and deeper design integration. Each development aims to set new benchmarks in ultra-luxury living, reinforcing a distinct and differentiated approach to luxury living, and further strengthening the company’s leadership in the Capital’s luxury residential sector.

Farmer protestors supporting 'Delhi Chalo' were detained close to Delhi. They seek changes to the contentious farm regulations in their protest.

In an unexpected turn of events on Tuesday, hundreds of farmers who were trying to march towards Delhi in support of the ongoing ‘Delhi Chalo’ agitation were arrested in the Gurugram neighbourhood of Manesar. The protesters, who belonged to groups like the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Dakshin Haryana Kisan Khap, had declared a nonviolent march in the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home.

The Dakshin Haryana Kisan Khap, SKM, and other farming organisations announced on Sunday that they would be holding a nonviolent march to raise awareness of the needs of the farming community. The farmers stated that should the police stop them, they would stage a peaceful sit-in, or dharna, in front of the Prime Minister’s house.

Farmers have been demanding the repeal of three contentious farm regulations passed by the government for months under the ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement. The policies have caused conflict and demonstrations as farmers claim they would negatively impact their livelihoods while providing big businesses with an unfair edge.

The farmers of Gurugram travelled to Delhi, holding banners and yelling slogans in support of their cause, hoping to be heard. However, the police stepped in to stop them when they got closer to the Manesar region. The protesters were detained by the authorities due to security concerns and the possibility of disturbance.

There was outrage when the farmers who had been arrested were placed under guard and brought to specific areas. Farmers’ supporters contend that allowing peaceful demonstrations is a fundamental democratic right and that the protestors’ incarceration violates the rights to free speech and assembly.

Supporters of the imprisoned farmers are calling for their release, and the situation in Gurugram is still tense. The organisations representing farmers have pledged to keep up the fight until their demands are fulfilled and the farm rules are overturned. The government, however, insists that the regulations are meant to provide farmers more options and to modernise agriculture.

The inhabitants of Tower H have been instructed to leave their apartments within 15 days.

In a recent development, the Gurugram district administration has identified another tower in the Chintels Paradiso residential complex as “unfit for living” after a structural safety review. The inhabitants of Tower H have been instructed to leave their apartments within 15 days.

The Chintels Paradiso incident came to light on February 10, 2023, when a section of a sixth-floor flat in Tower D of the housing society gave way, causing two casualties. This event led to a thorough examination of the entire complex and a structural safety review conducted by experts from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.

Post-review, several towers were deemed unfit for living, and evacuation orders were issued. The latest tower to join this list is Tower H. The evacuation directive was issued by Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Gurugram, after he examined the review report.

The district administration has also warned that non-compliance with the evacuation order could lead to the enforcement of the Disaster Management Act. This would give authorities the power to evacuate the building forcibly.

Chintels Paradiso comprises nine towers. To date, five of these – Towers D, E, F, G, and H – have been labelled unsafe. A high-ranking official from the district administration warned that these towers pose a risk and any mishap could occur at any moment.

The official also suggested that the builder should bear the relocation costs of the residents. If compensation is not provided promptly, the administration may seize all its assets and reimburse the residents.

The residents are understandably worried. “We understand the risk but if we vacate the towers, we will be left homeless as the builder will not provide us with any land,” expressed Chintels RWA president Rakesh Hooda.

This incident underscores the need for rigorous safety protocols and regular audits in residential societies. It also highlights the necessity for clear guidelines and assistance for residents when their homes are declared unfit for living.

On Tuesday, violence erupted in Gurugram’s Badshahpur, only after a day of communal clashes in Haryana’s Nuh. Fourteen shops were vandalised in the main market as nearly 200 men on motorbikes and SUVs targeted outlets, mostly selling biryani, and other food stalls. In Sector 66, seven stores were set on fire.

According to sources, the mob ransacked shops belonging to a particular community and chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in front of a mosque in Badshahpur. The Badshahpur market was also shut down,

On Monday, a mob of roughly 45 people fired at a mosque in Gurugram’s sector 57 and later set it on fire. As per the police, one person died in the incident and three were injured, with one of them being critical.

On Tuesday, Nishant Yadav, the Gurugram deputy commissioner said that the situation is ‘peaceful’. He said, “Law and order is normal. There were some spill-over impacts in Sohna of whatever happened in Nuh yesterday, however, situation was brought under control by evening. We have conducted flag march as well…in Gurugram one death reported in Sector 57 mosque, 5 vehicles were torched in Sohna and 2-3 shops have been vandalised.”

Section 144 CrPC was imposed by the Haryana government on Monday in Gurugram and Nuh. Late on Monday night, it was ordered to all educational institutions in Gurugram, Faridabad and Palwal to remain closed on Tuesday in lieu of the violence.

Clashes broke out in Nuh on Monday afternoon after a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession passing through the district was attacked. The attack left at least two home guards dead and dozens injured, including policemen.

On Tuesday, Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, after chairing a high-level meeting to discuss the prevailing situation said that there seems to be a larger conspiracy at play to disturb the law-and-order situation in the state.

The police conducted raids and arrested 17 people in Hyderabad and Gurugram in connection to illegal instant personal loan apps...

The police conducted raids and arrested 17 people in Hyderabad and Gurugram in connection to illegal instant personal loan apps after three people died by suicide.

Three people were reported dead by suicide last week due to harassment by employees of online loan apps.

The Hyderabad police froze 75 bank accounts that accounted up to Rs 423 crores in connection with a multi-crore money lending scam. The victims were charged up to 35 percent of interest by these money lenders.

At least 60 such loan apps available on Google Play Store were not registered or recognised by the Reserve Bank of India as an NBFC, this makes their operation illegal, Telangana DGP’s office said.

Nearly 700 laptops, servers, computer systems, among other gadgets were seized, and further investigation is underway, reported IANS.

“These callers took instructions from their heads in Indonesia. The entire operation of these loan apps appears to be run with Chinese nationals at the helm. This was also indicated during an investigation into the multi-crore colour prediction gaming app scam where crores of rupees were transferred to shell companies which were registered as NBFCs,” Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar told IANS.

Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police arrested 7 and are conducting an independent investigation.

RBI, on Wednesday, issued a statement cautioning individuals and small businesses against falling prey to the growing number of unauthorised digital lending platforms/Mobile Apps.

Gurugram-based fresh milk startup Country Delight has raised ₹163 crore in a Series C round led by the asset management...

Gurugram-based fresh milk startup Country Delight has raised ₹163 crore in a Series C round led by the asset management company, Elevation Capital, filings revealed. The round also saw participation from Matrix Partners, IIFL PE Fund and Orios Venture Partners.

The five-year-old dairy products company would allot 3,62,140 Series C2 preference shares to these investors at an issue price of Rs 4,501 per share, shows regulatory filings.

Elevation Capital raised preference capital worth Rs 92.04 crore while both Matrix Partners and Orios Ventures will pour in Rs 18.8 crore each. IIFL India Private Equity will also invest Rs 33.4 crore in this investment round.

With the Series C round, Country Delight has raised over Rs 231 crore in total capital. Unlike subscription commerce platforms, it’s a full-stack model (farm to table) and has no intermediaries. Post the investment, Country Delight has been valued at nearly ₹1,050 crore. Country Delight has now raised over ₹231 crore in total capital

The brand sources fresh cow and buffalo milk and eggs directly from farmers and processes several other daily products like bread, paneer, ghee, curd etc. According to the company, customers can rely on the product quality with closed eyes as they go through five stringent quality tests for purifying their products from toxins and impurities.

While Direct to Consumer (D2C) dairy delivery is still in an initial stage in India, Country Delight is said to be one of the very few dominant players in this segment.

According to reports, Country Delight scored operating revenue of INR 65 crore in Financial Year 2019; it incurred losses worth INR 19 crore in the same year. The company is yet to file its annual report for Financial Year 2020 that ended in March

Khaali Peeli starrer Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter will now face CBFC, as some words receive trimming before the release.

Khaali Peeli starrer Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter is releasing on 2nd October 2020 in limited theatres in Bengaluru and Gurugram. Since the release was no longer limited to just Zee Plex, it was sent to the Central Board of Film Certification and returned with some inessential edits.

CBFC’s editing was not just limited to expletives but also removed dialogues referring to ‘virginity’ such as ‘Dus saal tak virgin raha; hold karke baitha tha’ and ‘virgin bhramachari’. Some lustful gazes at the character played by Ananya were removed along with ‘explicit and sensuous visuals’ of the song Dil Mera Tehas Nehas. Words like ‘harami’ and ‘item’ were either omitted or replaced. For instance, ‘item’ with ‘ladki’, ‘r****i’ with ‘aunty’ and ‘Maa ki’ was replaced with ‘Bhains ki’.

The CBFC asked the makers of Khaali Peeli to show a disclaimer at the beginning saying, “no one related to this film supports objectification and exploitation of women and children.” They also asked them to increase the font size of the cancer warning.

The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat from ‘Pataal Lok’ and was directed by Maqbool Khan, who is doing his debut as a director. Produced by Zee Studios, Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra, it was announced in September 2019 and supposed to be released in June 2020 but got delayed because of the lockdown.
