Government initiates groundbreaking program with National Test House to ensure safety and efficiency of drone components

The government plans to set up testing facilities for drone components in response to the exponential development in the usage of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for a variety of commercial uses. With applications in transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, entertainment, and geospatial mapping, this programme seeks to guarantee the efficiency, safety, and dependability of the quickly growing drone sector.

According to two reliable sources, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs’ National Test House (NTH), an industrial testing laboratory, has been given the responsibility of establishing testing facilities for the vital drone sub-components. Among these sub-components are the flight controller, receiver, motors, propellers, landing gear, batteries, and camera.

One of these advanced testing centres is planned to open shortly in Ghaziabad, a prime region for technological development. The NTH is actively working on the project under the direction of renowned scientist D.V. Rajagopala Rao, who is in charge of the science and technology unit at NTH.

Rao disclosed that the testing facility’s equipment procurement process is currently in progress. The government’s dedication to promoting a safe and dependable drone environment will be evident when the extensive testing laboratory becomes fully operational in the next three to four months.

The announcement coincides with the growing integration of drones into a wide range of businesses, offering innovative approaches for anything from infrastructure inspection and delivery services to agricultural crop monitoring. However, as drone use has increased, worries about quality control and safety have intensified.

To put an end to these worries, the government plans to set up specialised testing centres where each drone component will undergo a thorough evaluation and certification process. The emphasis on smaller components like batteries, cameras, and flight controllers guarantees a close inspection of the essential components enhancing a drone’s performance and security.

Monkeypox detected in India: Ghaziabad reports first suspected case

On Saturday, the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh reported the first suspected monkeypox case. “A sample from a suspected monkeypox case in Ghaziabad has been sent for testing,” the ANI news agency reported, citing government sources. So far, no cases of monkeypox have been reported in India.

A five-year-old girl in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, is being tested for monkeypox after complaining of itching and rashes on her body.

According to the Chief Medical Officer of Ghaziabad. The test is only a “precautionary measure”. Because the girl has no other health issues. And has no close contact with anyone who has traveled abroad in the last month.

“Samples of a five-year-old girl have been collected for testing for monkeypox. As a precautionary measure. As she had complaints of itching and rashes on her body. She has no other health issues and neither she nor any of her close contacts traveled abroad in the past month”. CMO Ghaziabad said.

Ghaziabad: 3 arrested for killing 1 and injuring 2 outside a temple

On Saturday, the Ghaziabad Police arrested three people for beating a young man to death and injuring two others over an argument that broke over a spot where the accused was having food.

The police said that, on Thursday, a 22-year-old Praveen Saini and his two friends were attacked near the temple by three men; Nitin Sharma, Ashwini Sharma, and Akash Tyagi, who were eating food on the Gangnahar Ghat. The victims were asked by the accused to move over which led to a fight. The police added that the accused were in a drunk state and had beaten the victims with sticks and rods which led to serious injuries.

Kamlesh Narain Pandey, Circle Officer of Sadar said that they had arrested the three accused and the investigation was pending. Out of the three victims, Saini died due to injuries during his treatment in the hospital, he was from Meerut and worked at the temple and the shops nearby.

Due to an argument, a local intervened but ended up in an argument with the accused over the spot, Saini and his friends also joined the argument which led to the accused assaulting them with rods and pipes.

Devender and Vinod suffered injuries and had been hospitalized.

Dr. Iraj Raja, SP Rural Ghaziabad, said that there was no evidence of any conflict over the food that they were eating, the accused had been checked by the victims due to which the fight started, and the three accused had been arrested. The police added that one of the accused, Nitin, was working in the Indian Army and was on a leave.

Kiara Advani‘s next film, ‘Indoo ki Jawani‘ is all set to be released in the theatres on 11th December 2020. It was earlier being said that the film will have a digital release. However, it will directly release in cinema halls now.

‘Indoo ki Jawani’ is the story of a girl from Ghaziabad whose experience with dating app results in hilarious chaos. This is Kiara’s first female-centric film. It also stars Aditya Seal in the lead role.

The film was earlier supposed to release in June 2020. However, owing to the pandemic and the resulting lockdown, the release was postponed. Kiara’s recent film ‘Laxmii‘ was also released on the OTT platform due to the same reason.
