Iran has resumed flights to Moscow after a two-month suspension caused by the war, according to reporting attributed to IRNA...

Iran has resumed flights to Moscow after a two-month suspension caused by the war, according to reporting attributed to IRNA and other recent coverage on the reopening of Iranian air services. The move comes as the country gradually restores international flight operations that were halted during the conflict.

The resumption follows Iran’s earlier restart of commercial flights from Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran after a 56-day suspension. State media reported that flights to destinations including Istanbul, Muscat and Medina had already resumed, marking the first stage of the wider restoration of air travel.

Recent reports said the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization and airport officials were reopening routes in phases as safety and infrastructure conditions improved. Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport City CEO was quoted as saying international flights were being brought back gradually, with additional routes to be approved step by step.

The broader aviation reset comes after months of disruption caused by the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Flight operations had been heavily restricted, and Iranian authorities only began partial reopening after the ceasefire environment allowed civil aviation to restart in stages.

The Moscow route is significant because Iran and Russia have maintained active political, economic and security ties during the conflict period. A return of flights between the two capitals would restore an important direct travel link for diplomatic, commercial and passenger traffic.

The latest reports show that Iran is still moving cautiously, with air routes being restored in phases rather than all at once. Officials have said the process depends on operational conditions and aviation approvals as the country works to normalize flight services.

Flights operating from Delhi are likely to face delays today due to dense fog conditions at Indira Gandhi International Airport....

Flights operating from Delhi are likely to face delays today due to dense fog conditions at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Airport authorities have issued a passenger advisory confirming that flight operations are currently being conducted under CAT III conditions, which are used during extremely low visibility but often result in slower aircraft movements and schedule disruptions.

According to the advisory, poor visibility caused by thick fog has impacted runway operations, leading to possible delays in arrivals and departures. While CAT III landing systems allow aircraft to operate safely in near-zero visibility, the process requires additional precautions, spacing between flights, and extended turnaround times, all of which can affect on-time performance.

Passengers travelling through Delhi Airport today have been advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight status. Travellers can also check real-time information through the airport’s official website before heading to the terminal to avoid unnecessary waiting.

Why select a flight? Many people would want to travel to these beautiful places without spending too much time on the road. If you have a short time, flights are the best way to travel to any destination, including hill stations. Furthermore, aeroplanes provide fast and easy access to beautiful places.

Here are 5 beautiful hill stations accessible via direct flights

1. Mussoorie

How can we not start our list with “Queen of Hills”? Mussoorie is situated near Dehradun, less than two hours from Jolly Grant Airport. Mussoorie, with its stunning waterfalls and Lal Tibba Scenic Point, deserves to be at the top of your bucket list.

2. Gulmarg

Gulmarg, located around 50 kilometres from Srinagar, is a beautiful hill station accessible by taxi, tourist bus and aeroplane. Taking a flight to Srinagar not only assures a smooth journey but also saves time, allowing for quick travel to their final destination.

3. Shimla

Shimla is one of the most famous hill stations among travellers. The summer capital of Himachal Pradesh is about 45 minutes from its nearest airport, Jubbarhatti. Aside from direct flights, you may also take a road trip to this location.

4. Ooty

Coimbatore International Airport is about three hours away from Ooty, which is renowned for its fascinating botanical gardens and picturesque scenery. Furthermore, the Government Rose Garden is a must-see location featuring over 20,000 different types of roses.

5. Shimla

For those with limited time, flying to Shimla is a better option than a long road trip. The lush greenery of Shimla is so captivating that a three- to four-day plan is recommended. Flying by air ensures a quick and easy arrival, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the beauty of the hill station without any delays.

For arriving overseas passengers, the form on the Air Suvidha webpage of the aviation ministry was required. Passengers had to report their vaccination status, along with the dates and quantity of doses they had received.

The government has announced that it would no longer be essential for incoming international passengers to complete the self-declaration papers for Covid vaccination on the Air Suvidha portal. From November 22,2022 midnight the decision will take effect.

A notice from the Civil Aviation ministry this evening read, “In the light of sustained declining COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in COVID-19 vaccination coverage both globally as well as in India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued revised ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals”.

The online submission of self-declaration forms through the Air Suvidha site has been suspended in accordance with the Health Ministry’s new standards, according to the Aviation Ministry. However, it also included a legal notice that the rule might be revisited if necessary in light of the Covid scenario.

For arriving overseas passengers, the form on the Air Suvidha webpage of the aviation ministry was required. Passengers had to report their vaccination status, along with the dates and quantity of doses they had received.

This adhered to the norms of the majority of countries.

The passengers should, according to the ministry, have received all recommended vaccinations. Additionally, it was preferable to continue with all preventative measures for Covid, such as mask use and maintaining a social distance in airports.

The aviation ministry had previously stated that while wearing a mask is no longer required while flying, travellers should do so to avoid a coronavirus outbreak.

Up until that point, wearing a mask while flying was required.

The decision was made, according to the ministry, in accordance with the government’s strategy of a graduated approach to Covid-19 management.

Covid statistics have decreased over the past few weeks. According to official data released this morning, there are currently 6,402 active cases, or 0.01 percent of all infections. The countrywide recovery rate has risen to 98.8%.

The Centre’s ceaseless endeavours to improve air connectivity resulted in another success on Tuesday when two Alliance Air flights – Jabalpur-Indore-Jabalpur and Indore-Gwalior-Indore – were flagged off online by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia who also holds the Steel portfolio.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was officially quoted as saying, “The state’s geographical compatibility makes it easy to realise the potential of the industry and tourism spheres.
By Sunday night European Union and its member allies took a unified decision to ban Russian airplanes and any private jets owned by the Russian oligarchs.

Ursula Leyen, President for European Commission on Sunday stated that the European Union and its member allies will ban all Russian airplanes and private jets owned by the Russian Oligarchs to fly over its airspace.

Omar Alghabra the Canadian transport minister announced the same stating that their airspace will be shut and no longer be of access to Russian airplanes as Putin has exacerbated the situation in Ukraine.

Alexander De Croo, Belgian Prime Minister responded tweeting that European skies welcome for people to connect not for people who brutally invade.

Belgium has decided to close its airspace to all Russian airlines.

Our European skies are open skies. They're open for those who connect people, not for those who seek to brutally aggress.

— Alexander De Croo 🇧🇪🇪🇺 (@alexanderdecroo) February 27, 2022

As for Netherland’s Infrastructure and Waterworks minister Mark Harbers, Russian airplanes have no room as it has unleashed unnecessary violence on Ukraine.

An aviation consultant from New York, Robert Mann stated now that European Union and Canada have halted any Russian airplanes to enter their airspace, It has added further pressure on the US to take up swift decisions.

On the other hand couple of European nations are yet to follow the current decision of other global leaders to barr Russian airplanes to enter their airspaces like Spain, Turkey and Greece.

As more and more member allies ban flights to and from Russia, The US embassy in Moscow urged its American citizens to evacuate from Russia taking the next way out.

Russia: Airlines are cancelling flights in/out of Russia; numerous countries closed airspace to Russian airlines. U.S. citizens should consider departing Russia immediately via commercial options still available. Our advisory level is 4: Do Not Travel. https://t.co/KLT5RYb7h8 pic.twitter.com/pMkHBwSnUd

Russia has halted airplanes coming from the Western bloc and it has also suspended its S7 airplane to fly to Europe.

Flights under air bubble arrangements and international cargo flights are allowed to continue, the aviation regulator has said.

The suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger flights to and from India has been extended by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) until further orders on 28th February 2022.

According to the aviation regulator, these limits will not apply to international all-cargo operations or aircraft operated under the air bubble arrangement. In January, the DGCA extended the ban on foreign flights from and to India, citing an increase in Coronavirus infections throughout the world.

The Central government is expected to restart international flights by the end of March, or at the start of the airline’s summer schedule, but the government has opted to postpone the plan due to the increasing cases of the Omicron variant. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, all scheduled overseas flights were limited on March 23 of last year and are still prohibited.

However, under air-bubble agreements, special passenger flights have been flying between India and around 40 countries from July 2020. Air transport bubbles exist between India and 40 countries, including Canada, France, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Special international flights can be performed by their airlines between their boundaries under an air bubble treaty between two governments.

During the pre-COVID-19 period, Indian carriers used to fly close to 3,000 flights each day. Even as it confronts the impact of COVID-19 on the industry, the aviation sector has been seeking a decrease in excise tax on aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

The space tourism by Virgin Galactic has been reopened for a limited period & tickets are priced at $450,000.

The general public yearning to see the curvature of the Earth can now book tickets with Virgin Galactic. The tickets are priced at $450,000. This is a limited period offer. Earlier this space commercial service tickets were sold at $250,000 per seat. And this had to be booked months in advance including a spot booking advance.

The company announced on Tuesday (Feb 15th) that for a very short period of time they will entertain aspiring space travellers starting February 16th. A total of 1000 travellers will be able to make to this spatial flight for this year.

Virgin Galactic CEO Micheal Colglazier stated in his official statement,” At Virgin Galactic, we believe that space is transformational. We plan to have our first 1000 customers on board at the start of commercial service later this year, providing an incredibly stronger foundation as we begin regular operations and scale our fleet.”

The company is yet to mention the end date for its limited time period offer. The existing database of customers shows that this isn’t the 1st time Virgin Galactic has given the general public the Opportunity. In August 2021 it had for some time opened ticket sales where the founder Richard Branson was on board. In that time duration tickets were priced at $450,000; as earlier mentioned the same ticket would be sold at $250,000.

Virgin Galactic operates a space plane called VSS Unity, which is attached to a mother carrier called VMS Eve. Once they reach an altitude of say 50,000 feet or about 15,000 meters, VSS Unity at a speed of approximately Mach 3 detaches itself from the VMS Eve and pushes into the space with its rocket motor power.

VSS Unity can hold up to 6 passengers and 2 pilots in one go. All of them will experience a few minutes of anti-gravity moments or weightlessness and view the Earth’s Curvature from Sub-orbital space. So far, VSS Unity has been to outer space about 4 times.

Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin is a rival to Virgin Galactic, which has completed 3 successful Sub-orbital spaceflights so far. For further expansion, Virgin Galactic is currently building 2 other spaceflights called VSS Imagine and VSS Inspire.

InterGlobe Aviation Ltd operated IndiGo is most probable to resume its flight services to the United Arab Emirates from 01:30 am on August 20, the airline asserted in a press release on August 19, hours after it said that “operations to UAE stood cancelled till August 24.”

Earlier in the morning of August 19, CNBC TV-18 reported that the UAE government had banned IndiGo from functioning its flights for a week after many passengers did follow the protocol of the mandatory RT-PCR test at the departure airport.

However, IndiGo assured the development, saying that “due to operational issues, all its flights to UAE stood cancelled till August 24, 2021.” The airline has now iterated that it will commence operating flights to UAE from August 20. It has assured all its passengers and has regretted the inconvenience caused to them, India’s biggest domestic airline said.

As per the latest UAE government health essentials, a passenger must get themselves a negative RT-PCR report at the airport six hours before boarding the aircraft. COVID-19 test is compulsory for passengers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Uganda.

Qantas Airways Ltd is stagnating about 2,500 employees for approximately two months, with no pay, in an attempt to sustain the recent COVID-19 restrictions in Australia blistering domestic travel demand.

This core decision will lay a massive impact on the domestic pilots, cabin crew and airport workers, mostly in New South Wales, with no lay-offs expected from the unanticipated move, added the airline on Tuesday.

Qantas proclaimed the operating numbers that contributed to almost 100% of its pre-COVID domestic flying capacity in May has gone to less than 40% in July, about the imposed lockdowns to curb the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus. As per the latest reports, “Based on current case numbers it is reasonable to assume that Sydney borders will be closed for at least another two months,” added Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce.

The affected group of domestic employees, who will join by the 6,000 colleagues in the international allocation will receive government monetary payments of A$750 ($552.15) per week.

With a whopping goal of assimilating 100% of pre-COVID capacity by the beginning of Christmas, Qantas will not act dormant to any of its domestic planes to escalate quickly as demand returns.

The international flights haven’t filled on since March 2020. In the due course, the airline has put up many international flights on sale from late December, but Joyce said the status of those plans would turn on as per Australia’s vaccination rate.

Qantas shares were low to 1.4% in early afternoon trade, with an addition to the underperformance of 0.3% drop in the broader stock market.

Today, India announced that it will temporarily ban flights from the UK due to the newly discovered and highly infectious strain of the COVID-19 virus in Britain.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation tweeted, “Considering the prevailing situation in the UK, Indian govt has decided that all flights originating from the UK to India shall be temporarily suspended till 11:59 pm, 31st December. This suspension to start w.e.f. 11.59 pm, 22nd December.”

Considering the prevailing situation in UK. Govt. of India has decided that all flights originating from UK to India to be suspended till 31st December 2020 (23.59 hours).

— MoCA_GoI (@MoCA_GoI) December 21, 2020

The ministry also said that for precautionary measures, passengers arriving from the UK in all transit flights (flights that have taken off or flights which are reaching India before 22nd Dec at 23.59 hrs) should be subject to mandatory RT-PCR test on arrival at the concerned airports.

Countries around the world have begun banning flights and travellers from Britain as a report from London said that the spread of a more-infectious new COVID-19 strain was now “out of control”.

France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Ireland and Bulgaria are some of the other nations who have announced restrictions on UK travel.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that Christmas shopping and gatherings in southern England must be cancelled because of rapidly spreading infections blamed on the new COVID-19 variant.

The UK prime minister is said to hold an emergency response meeting today to discuss international travel, in particular the flow of freight in and out of Britain. EU officials are due to hold a meeting at 1000 GMT on coordinating their response.
