Iran has resumed flights to Moscow after a two-month suspension caused by the war, according to reporting attributed to IRNA and other recent coverage on the reopening of Iranian air services. The move comes as the country gradually restores international flight operations that were halted during the conflict.

The resumption follows Iran’s earlier restart of commercial flights from Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran after a 56-day suspension. State media reported that flights to destinations including Istanbul, Muscat and Medina had already resumed, marking the first stage of the wider restoration of air travel.

Recent reports said the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization and airport officials were reopening routes in phases as safety and infrastructure conditions improved. Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport City CEO was quoted as saying international flights were being brought back gradually, with additional routes to be approved step by step.

The broader aviation reset comes after months of disruption caused by the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel. New regulations for international arrivals in India

The government has announced that it would no longer be essential for incoming international passengers to complete the self-declaration papers for Covid vaccination on the Air Suvidha portal. From November 22,2022 midnight the decision will take effect.

A notice from the Civil Aviation ministry this evening read, “In the light of sustained declining COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in COVID-19 vaccination coverage both globally as well as in India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued revised ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals”.

The online submission of self-declaration forms through the Air Suvidha site has been suspended in accordance with the Health Ministry’s new standards, according to the Aviation Ministry. However, it also included a legal notice that the rule might be revisited if necessary in light of the Covid scenario.

For arriving overseas passengers, the form on the Air Suvidha webpage of the aviation ministry was required. Passengers had to report their vaccination status, along with the dates and quantity of doses they had received.

This adhered to the norms of the majority of countries.

The passengers should, according to the ministry, have received all recommended vaccinations. Additionally, it was preferable to continue with all preventative measures for Covid, such as mask use and maintaining a social distance in airports.

The aviation ministry had previously stated that while wearing a mask is no longer required while flying, travellers should do so to avoid a coronavirus outbreak.

Up until that point, wearing a mask while flying was required.

The decision was made, according to the ministry, in accordance with the government’s strategy of a graduated approach to Covid-19 management.

Covid statistics have decreased over the past few weeks. According to official data released this morning, there are currently 6,402 active cases, or 0.01 percent of all infections. The countrywide recovery rate has risen to 98.8%.

Russian airplanes banned to fly over European Union and members airspace

Ursula Leyen, President for European Commission on Sunday stated that the European Union and its member allies will ban all Russian airplanes and private jets owned by the Russian Oligarchs to fly over its airspace.

Omar Alghabra the Canadian transport minister announced the same stating that their airspace will be shut and no longer be of access to Russian airplanes as Putin has exacerbated the situation in Ukraine.

Alexander De Croo, Belgian Prime Minister responded tweeting that European skies welcome for people to connect not for people who brutally invade.

Belgium has decided to close its airspace to all Russian airlines.

DGCA extends ban on international flights until further orders

The suspension of scheduled international commercial passenger flights to and from India has been extended by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) until further orders on 28th February 2022.

According to the aviation regulator, these limits will not apply to international all-cargo operations or aircraft operated under the air bubble arrangement. In January, the DGCA extended the ban on foreign flights from and to India, citing an increase in Coronavirus infections throughout the world.

The Central government is expected to restart international flights by the end of March, or at the start of the airline’s summer schedule, but the government has opted to postpone the plan due to the increasing cases of the Omicron variant. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, all scheduled overseas flights were limited on March 23 of last year and are still prohibited.

However, under air-bubble agreements, special passenger flights have been flying between India and around 40 countries from July 2020. Air transport bubbles exist between India and 40 countries, including Canada, France, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Special international flights can be performed by their airlines between their boundaries under an air bubble treaty between two governments.

During the pre-COVID-19 period, Indian carriers used to fly close to 3,000 flights each day. Even as it confronts the impact of COVID-19 on the industry, the aviation sector has been seeking a decrease in excise tax on aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

The ban on international flights extended till September 30 by the government

According to the reports, the government has authorised the shelving of international flights till September 30, due to the surge in coronavirus cases as stated by the DGCA regulator. The flights were earlier suspended will 31st of August.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation also claimed that the International flights will be taken on specific routes through Competent authority accordance to the case severity.

Since March 23, 2020, the interactional passenger’s provisions have been adjourned in India. Although following Vande Bharat Mission initiated on May 2021 was allocated with special international flights in selected countries.

An air bubble programme was signed between India and 25 countries such as the US, the UK, the UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France.

IndiGo to resume flights to UAE from August 20

InterGlobe Aviation Ltd operated IndiGo is most probable to resume its flight services to the United Arab Emirates from 01:30 am on August 20, the airline asserted in a press release on August 19, hours after it said that “operations to UAE stood cancelled till August 24.”

Earlier in the morning of August 19, CNBC TV-18 reported that the UAE government had banned IndiGo from functioning its flights for a week after many passengers did follow the protocol of the mandatory RT-PCR test at the departure airport.

However, IndiGo assured the development, saying that “due to operational issues, all its flights to UAE stood cancelled till August 24, 2021.” The airline has now iterated that it will commence operating flights to UAE from August 20. It has assured all its passengers and has regretted the inconvenience caused to them, India’s biggest domestic airline said.

As per the latest UAE government health essentials, a passenger must get themselves a negative RT-PCR report at the airport six hours before boarding the aircraft. COVID-19 test is compulsory for passengers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Uganda.

Today, India announced that it will temporarily ban flights from the UK due to the newly discovered and highly infectious strain of the COVID-19 virus in Britain.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation tweeted, “Considering the prevailing situation in the UK, Indian govt has decided that all flights originating from the UK to India shall be temporarily suspended till 11:59 pm, 31st December. This suspension to start w.e.f. 11.59 pm, 22nd December.”
