A major fire broke out in several vehicles parked near the railway line in Bihari Colony under the jurisdiction of Farsh Bazar Police Station in Delhi’s Shahdara district on Friday, triggering panic in the area and prompting a large-scale emergency response.

According to officials, multiple fire tenders were rushed to the spot soon after information about the blaze was received. Firefighters continued efforts to control and douse the flames as thick smoke spread across nearby residential pockets and railway-side areas.

Authorities said the fire affected several parked vehicles near the railway tracks in Bihari Colony. Initial visuals from the scene showed flames rapidly spreading between closely parked vehicles, while local residents gathered near the affected stretch as emergency teams began operations.

Officials have not yet confirmed the exact number of vehicles damaged or whether any injuries or casualties have been reported. Police personnel and disaster response teams were deployed to control movement in the area and assist firefighting operations.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Preliminary investigations are expected to examine whether the blaze was triggered by a short circuit, inflammable material or another accidental factor.
