Indian chess player R Praggnanandhaa secured a historic victory in the FIDE World Cup semifinals.
He played nine rounds in the tournament. In those nine rounds, he managed to win six, drew two, and got a bye in the eighth round. He finished the tournament with a win over IM Jony Wilson Leon Valdes of Cuba.
The first semi-final will see India take on the USA along while Russia will set to face China in the second semi-final match.
AICF and Chess Association of India have announced that they have ended their feud so that the chess administration can come under one single entity.
Anand, Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, P Harikrishna, Nihal Sarin, R Pragganandhaa, Koneru Humpy, D Harika, Tania Sachdev, Bhakti Kulkarni, R Vaishali, and B Savitha Shri are among the members of the team.
