We live in a time, in a country where the dominant forces and those in power have chosen to punish people for being dissenting in their opinions. They have chosen to criminalise dissent and paint dissent as anti-national and a security threat to the country. All of this is a fallout of that. I’m not the only one being punished… my friends are in jail, there are other actors who have been harassed in different ways,” she said.

Tamannaah further added, “And the blame is always on actors that he/she has said something. But, the fact remains truly that we are at a beautiful phase where people are looking up to us even internationally. They want to see Indian films. We should rather be talking about how to position ourselves in an international space. The South and North barrier should be dropped. Movies are a collective art form. Every time you work on a film set, it is a new experience. There is no formula that suggests if something has worked in one industry, it will work in another industry. There is no right way to do it.”

Avinash Tiwary, who was also part of the session, echoed Tamannaah’s sentiments, stating that it’s time to “drop the regional divide and stop terming it ‘Bollywood'”. While no FIR was registered, a station diary entry was made at the Khar police station. Raveena’s posts suggest that this incident has prompted her to advocate for the use of dashcams and CCTV to provide visual evidence and protect oneself from false accusations.

Cruise Drug case update: Aryan Khan to get bail on 7 October?

On 3rd October, when SRK’s son Aryan Khan was produced before a court in Mumbai, the sections cited in the NCB’s FIR were section 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 that has wide provisions for producing, manufacturing, possessing, selling, purchasing, transporting, using, consuming, importing, exporting any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.

This section is read with three others:

Section 20 (b)- This section relates to the use of cannabis,

Section 27 that relates to the consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance,

Section 35 which is the presumption of culpable mental state.

Star kid Aryan was under NCB’s custody for one day and then, on Monday, October 4, his custody was extended to October 7. The period finishes tomorrow. Senior counsel Satish Maneshinde, who is defending Aryan in the matter, is expected to make another application for bail.

However, about Aryan’s possibility to get bail, senior counsel Hitesh Jain believes, “There was an argument advanced in Rhea Chakraborty’s case almost a year ago. It was argued that the offence becomes bailable if the quantity involved is small. The Bombay High Court, in its order, had stated that while it was not a bailable offence, the court was inclined to grant bail in view of the provisions that there is reasonable ground to believe that the accused is not guilty of the offence, and there is no likelihood of her committing another offence under the said act. Relying on chats is a presumption but not enough to draw a conclusion that the person is guilty. It appears that no contraband was found in person. On the twin consideration case for grant of bail can be made out.”

Advocate Ashok Saraogi, a renowned celebrity criminal lawyer, famous for appearing in top criminal and civil cases of India, states, “If the WhatsApp chat that the NCB is talking about is as incriminating as they claim it to be, then Aryan Khan may not get bail. In fact, if his involvement in sale, purchase, and consumption are all proven beyond a reasonable doubt, then he may have to go to jail, too.”

SSR hotelier friend Kunal Jani’s bail plea gets denied in NCB’s drugs case

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s hotelier mate Kunal Jani, was apprehended in Mumbai; a court denied his bail plea. According to reports, Jani was escaping for a long time and was apprehended eventually on 30 September. On Tuesday, Jani had filed for a bail application, which was refused by Mumbai’s Esplanade Court.

ANI tweeted the development stating that “Mumbai’s Esplanade Court rejects bail plea of hotelier Kunal Jani (in a file photo) in connection with drugs cases related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.” Jani was caught in connection to the drugs case that surfaced the previous year after the decease of a Bollywood actor.

Arjun Rampal’s brother Agisilaos Demetriades was captured by the NCB earlier for running a drug syndicate. NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede had quoted, “Kunal Jani is being investigated regarding his links with drug peddlers and the drug syndicate that was busted by NCB last year.” Sushant was found hanging from his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. Many people, including Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, were seized the previous year to probe the drugs angle in the actor’s demise case.

Dilip Kumar admitted to the hospital again

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar has once again been admitted to the Intensive Care Unite (ICU) of a city hospital following complaints of breathlessness.

Reportedly, he has been admitted again as a precautionary measure, ten days after he was discharged, according to hospital sources.

The 98-year-old screen icon who was taken to the suburban Khar-based Hinduja Hospital, a non-COVID-19 facility — was admitted to the medical facility yesterday and is doing fine, they added.

A insider at the hospital said, “”He was admitted yesterday during the day due to breathlessness. Given his age and recent hospitalisation, the family decided to take him to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He is fine. He is in the ICU so that the doctors can monitor him.”

The veteran actor had been admitted to the hospital earlier this month on June 6 after episodes of feeling absolutely breathless. He was then diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion a build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs and underwent a successful pleural aspiration procedure. However, earlier he was discharged from the hospital within 5 days.

Kumar’s career spans over five decades with hits like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Naya Daur’, and ‘Ram Aur Shyam’. His last big screen appearance was the 1998 film ‘Qila’.

Bollywood stars like Shahid Kapoor Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan or Ajay Devgn are all jumping onto the bandwagon of debuts on OTT platforms.

Now, we hear that Ranveer Singh has hoped right onto the bandwagon and is in talks for an upcoming OTT project which would mark his debut on the OTT media.

The Gully Boy actor has reportedly cracked a deal with Netflix for a non-fiction show.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, a source said, “It’s a concept by developed by Bear Grylls. After discussing with Netflix the same, they felt that it’s Ranveer Singh, who fits the bill for this format like a hand in glove. Ranveer, Bear and Netflix have been in conversation for a while now and everything has finally fallen in place. It is a hugely budgeted show which will be the biggest drop for Netflix around the world. No one but Ranveer could pull off what Bear has devised for the show. The prep-work has already begun and the makers plan to shoot it this year itself.”

The adventure-reality show will be filmed in Siberia from July or August. The Dil Dhadkane Do actor is said to have completed a photoshoot for the same and an official announcement will be made in due time.

Abhay Deol’s ‘Spin’ gets release date for Disney Channels in US

Bollywood Actor Abhay Deol will next be seen in a Hollywood feature film that is set to release on Disney Channels in the USA on August 13, 2021.

The film, directed by Manjari Makijany of ‘Desert Dolphin’, is about an Indian American teen named Rhea (Avantika Vandanapu) who discovers her artistic side through the unique world of DJ culture.

Abhay, who plays the role of Rhea’s father in the movie, announced the film’s release date on his Instagram account. Deol said ‘Spin’ holds a special place in his heart as it is a departure from his usual edgy and alternative kind of films.

Sharing the post, the actor wrote, “I am aware that most of my audience love me for making edgy, alternative narratives, that challenge the status quo. This is why this film is all the more special as it is a departure from my status quo and catering to a much younger audience.”

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s family attorney Vikas Singh has remarked a note on the Siddharth Pithani arrest.

Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh, in an interview with ‘The Times of India’ implied that Pithani cannot be trusted as he has changed his stance since investigations into the case began.

Pithani allegedly mailed Mumbai police that he was pressurized to give statements against Rhea and that Sushant’s family and a senior IPS officer had called him.

Vikas added, “I am quite hopeful that they will able to unravel the mystery and they are working on it lets keep our fingers crossed. As far as the arrest of Siddharth Pithani is concerned it is a kind of poetic justice that he has at least gone to jail.”

On talking about Pithani’s alleged involvement in Sushant’s death, Singh added, “I have been saying this for a really long time that he should be arrested and the reason being he was there with Sushant when Rhea Chakraborty went away and the day Sushant was found dead. Siddharth was the one who opened the room and he was the one who called the locksmith and was the one to lower the body of the actor, so he is very crucial to the case in every which way, whether it is murder or abetment to suicide he will definitely be involved in it.”

Pooja Bhatt Reacts to reports of bodies floating in Ganga

On Monday, around 40 dead bodies were found on the banks of the Ganga in Buxar district, and the district administration claimed the bodies were from the upstream districts of Ghazipur, Varanasi, or Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

After Bihar’s Buxar, around two dozen bodies were found on the banks of the Ganga at abutting Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, some of which have been partly cremated and then tossed into the river.

With more and more dead bodies being found floating in the Ganga amid the ongoing second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, several Bollywood celebrities took to social media to express their shock and criticize the horrific incidents.

Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar tweeted, “The news of scores of bodies being discovered floating in rivers and washed up on its banks is absolutely heartbreaking. The virus will be defeated someday, but there has to be accountability for these failures in the system. Until then, the pandemic chapter is not closed!”

Actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt wrote, “You can fudge the data.. how do you hide the bodies? This will haunt us for generations to come.” Reacting to a news piece talking about the same, actor-comedian Jaaved Jaaferi commented, “This is tragic and horrific.”

Priyanka Chopra says that her body has changed as she’s got older just like everyone else’s body, and she has adapted to it. In an interview, Priyanka talked about how finding a sense of confidence in what she brings to the table matters more to her than what she looks like.

Actor Suniel Shetty recently joined hands with Feed My City to supply free oxygen concentrators, to extend his help amid the pandemic.

With an increase in the daily COVID-19 cases in India, actor Suniel Shetty shared his thoughts on providing help to people during a bid to extend his help, the actor announced his recent collaboration with Feed my city to provide free oxygen concentrators to people. Suniel expressed his serious concerns over the dire repercussions of the deadly virus and urged people to step out and show some empathy.

The actor said, “‘We are going through some testing times, but a ray of hope in this is the way our people have joined hands to help each other”.

Bollywood actor Kumud Mishra was Hospitalised, after experiencing difficulty in breathing due to coronavirus.

Kumud Mishra tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago. His mother tested positive for the virus earlier, currently in the hospital and is being taken care of.

Mishra is admitted to a private hospital in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh due to difficulty in breathing.

As per a report, Kumud Mishra is now feeling better and has been provided with oxygen.
