Uddhav Thackeray slams Maharashtra Governor Koshiyari: Should be sent home or to jail

The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray joined the wagon to slam Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari over his remarks on the communities in the state.

The governor had made a statement at an inauguration event saying that without Gujaratis and Rajasthanis Mumbai would not have been the financial capital of the country.

Uddhav Thackeray accused the Governor of insulting the “Marathi Manoos”. And was dividing and polarising Hindus ahead of the BMC polls. Thackeray said that Koshiyari had insulted Marathi Pride. And was trying to divide society based on community.

He also said the time has come to think whether Koshiyari should be sent home or to jail.

Uddhav Thackeray slams Governor

“Bhagat Singh Koshyari must have seen beautiful caves, forts of Shivaji and all other good things during his two-and-a-half years. However, now it is also time to show them the Kolhapuri shoe. Because Kolhapuri joda (shoe) is also the glory of Maharashtra. One can interpret this the way one wants. But it’s surely time to show the world-famous Kolhapuri joda to Koshyari. How people will use this joda is up to them”. Said Uddhav Thackeray.

Uddhav Thackeray also mentioned that he respected the chair of the Governor while the person sitting in the chair did not keep the chair’s respect.

The governor’s statement triggered a storm and a wave of criticism as several Shiv Sena and NCP politicians like Priyanka Chaturvedi, Sanjay Raut and Supriya Sule slammed him for his comments. Many leaders expressed took to Twitter and expressed their dissatisfaction with his statement.

Koshiyari’s statement also brought out a response by the new chief minister Eknath Shinde, however, the response was not as sharp as the previously mentioned leaders.

Shinde said “The governor has his personal views but we won’t support his statements. We will never forget Mumbaikars and the contribution of Marathi people to Mumbai.”

“Mumbai is an important city with immense potential. Despite people from all over the country making it their home, Marathi people have preserved their identity and pride and it shouldn’t be insulted”, he added.

Maharashtra Governor under heat for resorting to comment on “Gujaratis & Rajasthanis”

The Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari drew criticism from the Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party. Further, after he said that Mumbai will eventually run out of money and no longer be India’s financial capital if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis are removed.

“I tell people here that if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis are removed from Maharashtra. Especially Mumbai and Thane, you will have no money and Mumbai will not be a financial capital”. Said Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari at an event in Mumbai.

Maharashtra Governor faces backlash

This event was an inauguration and the naming ceremony of a chowk in Andheri. Also, MP Navneet Rana and MLAs Ravi Rana, Amit Satam, Nilesh Rane, Bharati Lavekar and others were present at the event.

A press released by the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai stated that Maharashtra Governor Koshiyari complemented the Gujarati and Rajasthani communities. Thus, for their contribution in making Mumbai the financial capital of India.

Moreover, NCP leader Supriya Sule said the comment is an insult to martyrs. “This statement of the Governor is insulting to those martyrs. This city was built by labourers, labourers and labourers. All of them have the first right to Mumbai. This is ‘Aamchi Mumbai’ for all who are born on this soil and love Mumbai,” she tweeted.

The Congress State Spokesperson Amit Londhe. Also slammed the Governor for his remarks by saying that they smack of his hatred for the state and demanded an apology.

Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said the governor must apologize. Or they will demand his transfer. “This is an insult to the people of Maharashtra and the hard work of the Marathi people. Who are working round the clock to make the state the leading state in the country”. Hence, she wrote on Twitter.

Shiv Sena’s Spokesperson and MLC, Manish Kayande said that the governor from Uttarakhand had caused many difficulties in the state for the government which prevented them from working. She also said this shows his hatred for the state and love for his party, the BJP.

“Marathi people wake up! It will not take long to go to Mumbai Gujarat. Public protest of the hateful governor of Maharashtra!” she added.

Actor Gurmeet Choudhary receives the Bhagat Singh Koshyari award from Governor of Maharashtra for his philanthropic works

During the pandemic, several celebs came out to help needy people with food, arranging for transport or in cash. Everyone did what they could afford to do. One of the celebs was TV actor Gurmeet Choudhary who with his team supported several families and homeless people with food and medical help. For these philanthropic deeds, the actor was recently awarded by the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The event took place at the Raj Bhavan where the actor was invited to collect his award. Gurmeet took to Instagram to share the details of the event with a picture of him with the Governor.

The post was captioned, “This award is really special to me and my team as our relentless efforts in creating a difference have been recognised. I would like to give the full credits to my team- our Covid warriors who have given their heart and soul to this cause. It wouldn’t have been possible without their continuous support. I have been receiving awards for my work in films and television but this is the first time I have received an award for a good deed and it’s extremely special to me.”

Ali Fazal praises front line warriors, says ‘Hope we are able to restore humanity’

As the Coronavirus is continuing to mangle the world, medical professionals are tirelessly waging a war against it. In a recent event organised by governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, we saw celebrities like Ali Fazal, playback singers Shaan and Palak Muchchal and Dr Niranjan Hiranandani felicitating the medical professionals. The event was organised by Bhamla Foundation at Raj Bhavan.

Talking about the event, Ali said, “It has been nostalgic. I had the honour of returning to the Raj Bhavan after years. This institution holds great value for me, for personal reasons. The Bhamla foundation has done [great work] during these tough times. There have been others who have relentlessly worked to help the needy as well. It has been a fight for, and by the common man. It was a proud moment to see such eminent personalities, especially those from the health sector, felicitate each other.”

He further added that the medical professionals are the ones who will lead the way to the new world safe and sound. He added, “I hope we are able to restore humanity. [I pay] my respect to all the doctors and police personnel across Maharashtra who have relentlessly worked, despite the personal dangers [attached to doing so] in this pandemic.”

The actor was last seen in Mirzapur 2 and will be seen next in Death on the Nile, he is expected to shart shooting for his Hollywood project, Codename Johnny Walker, soon

Kangana Ranaut leaves Mumbai with a ‘heavy-heart’; calls her PoK analogy ‘bang on’

Actress Kangana Ranaut has left for her home in Manali from her Mumbai residence with a heavy-heart. The actress had come to Mumbai with her Y+ security provided by Centre on 9th September, the same day as her Bandra office was demolished by BMC officials claiming to be having ‘illegal construction.’ Ranaut bids adieu to Mumbai tweeting, “With a heavy heart leaving Mumbai, the way I was terrorised all these days constant attacks and abuses hurled at me attempts to break my house after my work place, alert security with lethal weapons around me, must say my analogy about POK was bang on.”

Ranaut has always been talk of the town for her staunch and strong opinions regardless of any constraints. The brawl between Kangana and Maharashtra Government heated when the former compared Mumbai with PoK for which the actress was criticized by many celebrities and politicians including Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut who publicly gave out derogatory statement against Ranaut.

Taking a dig on CM Uddhav Thackeray, Kangana had shared a video on her Twitter handle in which she compared her plight to that of Kashmiri Pandits and vowed to make a film on that issue. Just by yesterday, Ranaut visited Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari who had expressed his disappointment regarding the BMC’s actions of demolishing her private property.

Kangana Ranaut to meet Maharashtra’s Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari

Kangana Ranaut is all set to meet Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, Governor of Maharashtra today on 13th September. As per a report by TOI, the actress is going to meet Governor, who had expressed his disappointment about the way BMC had destroyed Kangana’s property at around 4:30 pm to discuss about the same. Ranaut has always been making headlines for her staunch and strong opinions regardless of any constraints. The actress is seen supporting late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s family in their fight for justice to the actor. The brawl between Kangana and Maharashtra Government heated when the former compared Mumbai with PoK for which the actress was criticized by many celebrities and politicians including Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut who publicly gave out derogatory statement against Ranaut.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials demolished Kangana’s office space in Bandra on 9th September, claiming it to have ‘illegal construction’ inside the office, just a few hours before the actress arrived in Mumbai with her Y+ security provided by Centre. Kangana later shared a video directing towards CM Uddhav Thackeray and even visited her own office to inspect the destruction caused by BMC.
