Godawari Power increases investment in subsidiary with Rs 50 crore equity share allotment

Godawari Power and Ispat has increased its investment in its wholly owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), with an allotment of 5 crore equity shares, each valued at ₹10, totalling ₹50 crore. This move is part of the company’s strategy to support GNEPL’s capital expenditure and working capital requirements for the development of a 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System Plant in its first phase.

The recent allotment raises Godawari Power‘s total investment in GNEPL from 30 crore equity shares to 35 crore equity shares, with each share priced at ₹10. This translates to a total investment of ₹350 crore, representing 100% of GNEPL’s paid capital.

GNEPL, incorporated on 25 June 2025, is focused on the energy sector, specifically in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) domain. The funds from this investment will be utilised by GNEPL to meet its proposed capital expenditure and working capital needs for setting up the BESS plant.

This transaction is classified as a related party transaction, given that GNEPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Godawari Power. The investment was executed on an arm’s length basis, with no additional interest from the promoter or promoter group in GNEPL.

The equity shares were allotted on 15 April 2026, with the transaction being completed in cash consideration.

Acme Solar commissions second phase of battery energy storage project in Rajasthan

Acme Solar Holdings, through its wholly owned subsidiary Acme Surya Power Private Limited, has successfully commissioned the second phase of its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan. The newly commissioned phase adds 35.714 MW / 160.48 MWh to the project’s capacity.

The BESS project, located in the village of Jaimalsar, Bikaner district, is part of a larger initiative with a total planned capacity of 250 MW / 1103.392 MWh. With the completion of this second phase, Acme Surya Power has now achieved a commissioned capacity of 95.714 MW / 430.086 MWh.

ACME Solar Holdings Ltd (ACME Solar) has successfully commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Rajasthan. This achievement takes the company’s total commissioned BESS capacity to 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh, as part of its planned capacity of 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh across various subsidiaries.

The newly commissioned BESS projects are integrated with the existing operational Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and will operate on a merchant basis. This setup allows ACME Solar to generate additional revenue by capitalising on the price differential between peak and non-peak demand hours.

These projects are designed to enhance grid reliability and optimise power utilisation.
