Masaba Gupta’s ‘Masaba Masaba season 2’ promises twice the excitement with a different side of herself

Masaba Gupta, a fashion designer-turned-actor, began filming the second season of her successful Netflix series “Masaba Masaba” on Friday. Masaba Gupta’s unusual history, the many realms she crosses between fashion and family, and her journey back into the dating scene are all explored in the dramatised series.

The programme, which has been described as an “inspirational, happy celebration of her life” with “tongue-in-cheek humour,” also stars Gupta’s actor-mother Neena Gupta. The first season of the programme, which premiered on Netflix in August 2020, garnered positive reviews from reviewers and audiences alike.

Season two will feature a “different aspect” of Masaba Gupta’s personality, according to Masaba Gupta. “Season one of ‘Masaba Masaba’ was one of the most unexpected yet enjoyable events in my life. I have really pleasant recollections of filming for the show and simply having a nice time with the incredible cast and crew “In a statement, she stated “With excitement and newfound energy, I’m ready to begin production for the new season. In season two, I get to exhibit a different part of me, and I can’t wait to see what the public thinks. It’ll be double the joy, twice the tears, and twice the laughing “She said.

Sonam Nair directs the show, which is produced by Ashvini Yardi.

Urmila Matondkar reveals “I’ve been a victim of Nepotism as well”

Recently, Kangana Ranaut called Urmila Matondkar a “soft porn” actress, which made Urmila Matondkar furious. She took to her social media so as to get back at Kangana but Kangana didn’t seem to give in. On the contrary, Kangana Ranaut stood her stand and tweeted, “Liberal brigade once virtually lynched a renowned writer into silence for saying people like Sunny Leone should not be our role models, Sunny is accepted by the industry and entire India as an artist, suddenly fake feminists equating being a porn star to something derogatory.”

Nevertheless in her recent interview, Urmila Matondkar revealed that she did face nepotism at the beginning of her career as well because various new faces were making their debut in the same year as she was, out of which most of them were related to the industry. Replying to Barkha Dutt, the senior actress said, “This word called ‘nepotism’, if I start talking about it, I will have to talk for quite a few hours. The amount of it that I have faced, in spite of being from Mumbai, was quite alarming, to say the least. There were some 16-17 new girls who were introduced that year and out of them, some eight or nine of them were somebody or the other’s daughters. I will tell you a few of them – Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, Kajol, lots of them.”

Towards the end, Urmila Matondkar stated that she was written off the industry despite the fact that her films were doing well. She stated that “After my first film, I made a decent name for myself as a good dancer and a decent actor, and yet, I struggled tremendously. By the time I was doing Rangeela, I was written off like no other actor in the history of cinema. ‘She makes faces’, ‘her language’…everything”.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s therapist Susan Walker breaks her silence on the actor’s death; claims, “Rhea was his strongest support”

Looking at the current situation regarding to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s investigation case, which also has ‘mental illness’ as one of the reasons to his suicide and the online bullying of actress Rhea Chakraborty, the late actor’s therapist Susan Walker has broken her silence. She opened up to Barkha Dutt and told her about Sushant and his severe mental conditions and how Rhea used to help him out during his difficult times.

Susan claimed that Sushant was suffering from bipolar disorder and depression. She said, “In light of the misinformation and conspiracy theories currently raging on social media about Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty, I have decided it is my duty to make a statement. In my capacity as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, I met Sushant and Rhea on several occasions in November and December 2019 and communicated again with Rhea in June of this year.”

Talking about the sigma regarding to the mental health problems, she mentioned that it can be dangerous and a patient needs to seek help for this. Walker further added, “Sushant was suffering from bipolar disorder, a severe mental illness that can be crippling for an individual during an episode. The symptoms of which can include severe anxiety, major depression and sometimes disordered thinking and paranoia. The continuing, appalling stigma around mental illness makes it very difficult for patients and their families to reach out. This has to stop. Mental illness is no different than cancer or diabetes. It can affect anyone, regardless of class, financial status and so on. In a way that cancer can,”

Susan explained that one should be ashamed of having a mental illness. She said, “People with mental illnesses and their families need to feel safe from discrimination so that they can get their treatment and support and acceptance they need. There is no shame in having a mental illness. Should one feel ashamed of having cancer? Mental illness can be treated, it is often the shame of having such an illness that can drive people to suicide. Along with the absolute torment of being in the grip of an illness that affects the ways our minds and emotions work.”

Coming to Rhea Chakraborty, Walker stated that she was Sushant’s biggest support and cared for him like a mother would look after son. “Sushant was suffering terribly during his bouts of depression and hypomania. Rhea was his strongest support. From the first time I met them as a couple, I was impressed by the degree of concern, love and support she showed. It was very evident how close they were. Rhea took care of his appointments and gave him enough courage to attend, despite his being so fearful that someone would find out.”

Later, she added, “When he was severely ill, he depended on her as somewhat of a mother figure and she completely filled that role with love, encouragement and patience. It was an incredibly hard time for her as seeing someone suffer through the cruelty of mental illnesses of family members. They need to keep it a secret and bear things in silence, an added trauma. The treatment that Rhea has received on social media is deeply shocking to me as I have only ever experienced her as deeply caring and sensitive person.”

Finally, Walker concluded her talk by saying, “Sushant’s sad and untimely death needs to be yet another lesson for us all–in ending of shame and stigma around mental illness.”
