Many other memes had been shared so far to describe the reaction of the other e-commerce websites on the return of Shein in India.

It had been announced by Amazon that Shein would be re-launched in India during their annual Prime Day sale, which has been scheduled to start on July 26 at midnight and continue until July 27. Shein has occupied one of the top spots on social media and has led to a series of hilarious meme trend on its comeback.

The headquarters of Shein are in China, and the app was banned by the Indian Government in June the previous error along with the many other Chinese apps including Tiktok. These Chinese apps had been banned by India in the wake of the border disputes in Ladakh after a violent face off between the Indian and Chinese armies.

However, the social media users have posted memes from various films and already famous meme characters to express their happiness over the return of Shein in the Indian market.

The memes were made for the girl’s point of view and how they would react on the re-launch of thr Shein app. Movie templates from movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Hera Pheri and Tere Naam were used to express the joy over the apps comeback to India.

Many other memes had been shared so far to describe the reaction of the other e-commerce websites on the return of Shein in India.

On Amazon, Shein would be launched as a seller and not as a dependent platform like it was before.

In 2020, the Indian government released a statement saying that the Chinese apps engaged in activities that were prejudicial to the sovereignty, integrity and defence of India, and apart from India, Taiwan also banned a few Chinese apps and so did Germany as they banned Zoom app.

Government of India is examining 275 Chinese apps over security and data privacy concerns. Amongst these apps are the widely used PubG and AliExpress, the fate of who remains in the hands of the state.

After the unprecedented ban on 59 Chinese apps in India, the government is planning to ban 275 more apps. As per the Economic Times, the government has curated a list of 275 mobile apps which allegedly pose a threat to the national security of the country.

“The government may ban all, some or none from the list”, stated a government official, as per a statement in Economic Times.

The apps, amongst this list, would be examined by the government authorities to check for any breach of privacy or violation of security norms. The apps which are on government’s radar include the infamous gaming app PubG, Xiomi’s Zili, Alibaba’s AliExpress.

“Some of these apps have been red-flagged due to security reasons while others have been listed for violation of data sharing and privacy concerns”, quoted an official in a statement to Economic Times.

Amongst the apps facing a ban from India is the Helsinki based Supercell, which has investments in technology companies in the mainland. It is reported that the Chinese company Tencent bough the majority stake in the gaming company Supercell, last year.

As reported by Economic Times, the government of India is planning to formalize the process of banning such apps and the concerned ministry is underway designing the process, norms and regulations. The concerned ministry has also been asked to begin scrutinizing these apps and a law or a circular would be in motion soon. “A set of rules or defined procedures may take take time but it is the correct process to go about it in future”, quoted a senior government official.

This move by the government comes a few weeks after the country imposed a nation-wide ban on 59 Chinese mobile apps over the same concerns. Amongst these apps were the widely used TikTok and CamScanner which had the largest customer base in India.

The Economic Times also reports that the gaming app PubG has the maximum users in India. With over 175 million installs to date, the app recorded 24% of its total users in India.

This sentiment has been spreading widely across the world as the US secretary of State, Mike Pompeo announced, early this month, that US is also looking at banning Chinese mobile apps like TikTok. The United States has had a diplomatic feud with China, accusing the country of being responsible for the Coronavirus outbreak.

At the same time, issues at the border have been escalating between India and China since June 15. Even after the continuous efforts for disengagement, the countries have not been able to reach to a conclusion through diplomacy.

Zoom has clarified the users that it is not Chinese company, it has been origined in USA.

Zoom clarifies it is not a “Chinese company” to users. Zoom clarifies stating that it is a US based company and has no origins in China.

Velchamy Sankarlingam, who joined as President of Engineering and Products at Zoom in May, after having field day in India said that India continues to be the important market for Zoom. Moreover he said that Zoom’s parent company is US based and it has offices in China just like other countries which are run by Us partners.

Zoom has already face major thrash due to this misunderstanding and the further brunt came on Zoom after Indian company Reliance Jio launches its video conferencing app JioMeet.

JioMeet has received huge response. It was downloaded over one million in one day of its launch.

Zoom is keen on not losing the grounds in India. Velchamy Sankarlingam, said that they found it very disheartening. Since there were misconceptions related to Zoom and China. However, he is keen on clarifying these misconceptions. He further added that Zoom is making consistent improvements and will soon create market for hiring local Indian talents.

Zoom has been clear about its identity. Zoom is a US company. Which is publicly traded on the NASDAQ. Also founded and headquartered in San Jose, California. And like many global technology companies, Zoom has offices in China operated by subsidiaries of the US parent company

India earlier banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok and others, citing reasons of threat to sovereignty, privacy and national security.

No effect on Huawei & ZTE after India forbade Chinese apps. Apps and communication tools redolent of E-Space, We-Link or IdeaHub. They have not been identified among all the 59 Chinese apps and were banned by the federal govt.

No effect on Huawei & ZTE after India forbade Chinese apps. Apps and communication tools redolent of E-Space, We-Link or IdeaHub. They have not been identified among all the 59 Chinese apps and were banned by the federal govt.

As a result, inside software and patented know-how products used by high-ranking Chinese telecom equipment manufacturers. Huawei and ZTE are used to remotely participate in regular conferences and corporate reviews with company colleagues and companions in China.

Indeed, for such Chinese telecommunications distributors – who face an uncertain future in India due to the escalating India-China border standoff in Ladakh – their business as usual, sources have been listed, as they have under no instances been affected by the existing authorities’ motion in opposition to Chinese cellular apps.

Chinese App Ban Doesn’t Stop Huawei & ZTE

Ironically, the arguments come at a time. When native companies have suggested. That the new ban presents some contact difficulties. In connection with their Chinese suppliers.

As an illustration, Huawei uses its company-sensitive workplace product, IdeaHub, purely for remote video conferencing with internal groups across China. Although it may choose to use its proprietary product to connect with external companies , suppliers and prospects if desired.

The person with direct data on the matter advised ET. “Huawei India has access to a variety of proprietary communication devices. But ist does not rely on Chinese apps that the government forbade. Communicating remotely with company employees, partners, associates, customers and suppliers in China.”

The state-owned BSNL and MTNL have already instructed by New Delhi. Not to supply Huawei and ZTE telecommunications equipment. And to properly expand the mission to non-public telecommunications companies in the midst of growing tensions.

However the famous WeChat messaging app has succeeded. Which the Indian dealers to keep in touch with suppliers and companies in China. Many of the prohibited applications concentrate primarily on Chinese consumers.

As exporters typically sign contracts with Chinese partners. Which are currently banned in India for communication between firms. Especially because China does not enable the use of. WhatsApp, Google and Facebook alternatives. Therefore, there has been no effect on Huawei & ZTE.

TV actor talks about nationalism and how it is always important to keep your country first.

With 59 Chinese apps banned in India, the government of India has taken a huge step towards abrogating the usage of anything that is Chinese in the country.

TIK TOKers and celebrities come in obvious limelight because out of everything it also becomes a monetary loss for them along with the absence of a platform, they used to connect with their fans digitally.

But some of them were a step ahead and deleted the app before the official ban, one of them was Karanvir Bohra. The actor famously remembered as ‘Dhruv’ from ‘Shararat’ in an exclusive interview with Zoom digital revealed he had already detached himself from the application a few days ago, when 20 Indian soldiers were martyred fighting against the Chinese army.

In an interview by zoom digital Karanvir said “A lot of people applauded me for the initiative. A lot of people said what is the big deal? But they do not realise that apart from Instagram or Facebook I get paid through TIK TOK also. I am an influencer on TIK TOK as well. I have lost a lot of campaigns due to that but at the end of the day it is very simple. Ki aap ke ghar mei aapke family ke saath agar koi bhi kuch kharab bolta bhi hai, forget jaan sei marna toh alag baat hai. Agar kuch kharab bolta hai you will disown and disconnect with that person, if he speaks bad about your family. Probably I would go and slap that person and if he hurts my family, I will hurt him twice as much. I am a citizen of this country. The people standing out at the borders are literally my brothers in humanity sense. The relation between my country and China is not good. Why will I have anything to do with them? So, each video I make they get paid, I do not get paid.”

He further explained by saying though his videos were monetised and he was getting paid but a huge part of it was also going to china, a country we as a nation are struggling to have cordial relations with. He further urged his fans to not use Chinese products and instead use Japanese or any other alternative and do the right thing, do what was beneficial and good for their country.

The Indian government on Monday announced a ban on 59 Chinese Mobile Apps which include TikTok, SHAREit, CamScanner, Clean Master- Cheetah Mobile, etc. This move was taken amidst serious tensions across the Indo-China border where a series of retaliations have taken place in the last couple of weeks. This order has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Electronics ,which stated that these apps are “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order”. Majority of these apps were in the scrutiny of intelligence agencies over privacy concerns.

The apps that have been banned, have been listed in the Appendix released by the Ministry of Electronics, Government of India.

The Information Technology Ministry had received an exhaustive recommendation from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordinate Center for blocking these “malicious apps”. These apps have been a source of serious security and privacy concerns and a step had to be taken to protect the data privacy of the Indian populations which also, has been one of the largest consumers of these apps.

Amidst the apps that have been banned is the popular TikTok app which has with time gained an exorbitant amount of users in India. In May 2019, TikTok marked over 300 million users as reported by Statistica to economictimes.com and in the whole year, Indians are recorded to have spent 5.5 billion hours on TikTok as reported by indiatoday.in. Apps like CamScanner, Clash of Kinds, Xender, etc. are also some popular apps used by Indians at large and these apps would also have to bear the brunt of this ban.

This is a signature for retaliation by the Indian government over the June 15 face-off at the Galwan valley in Ladakh where 20 soldiers of the Indian army lost their lives. Tensions between both the nations have just escalated ever since and this economic backlash serves as India’s answer via ‘Digital Combat’.
