Ayodhya Mosque will be dedicated to great freedom fighter Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah

The mosque which will be constructed on the five-acre plot at Dhannipur village in Ayodhya will be dedicated to Ahmadullah Shah, a leader of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), the trust in charge of building the mosque said.

In February 2020, the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board accepted the five acres of land provided for the construction of the mosque in Ayodhya.

“The trust is seriously contemplating on the proposal to dedicate the Ayodhya mosque project to the great freedom fighter Maulvi Ahmadullah Shah. We have received suggestions from different platforms and will make an official announcement soon after deliberation”, Times of India quoted Athar Hussain, secretary of IICF as saying.

The formal beginning of the project to construct a mosque will begin from tomorrow, January 26 by unfurling of the national flag and a tree plantation drive.

The tree plantation drive has been planned because the project intends to serve the community in the area and create awareness about climate change as a major challenge to humanity, the IICF had said.

The architectural design of the mosque complex includes a multi-speciality hospital, community kitchen, library and museum housed in a multi-storeyed vertical structure. The blueprint unveiled by IICF after the plan for the project was finalised by its architect Professor SM Akhtar.

“The mosque will have a capacity to hold 2,000 namazis at a time, and the structure will be round-shaped,” the architect had said. The mosque will be four times bigger than Babri Masjid and the 300-bed hospital will be six times the size of the mosque.

The mosque will have the futuristic type of design which will resemble the spherical earth cushioned in space. It will not have stereotypical domes, minarets or arches that are associated with Islamic architecture in India.

IICF was formed by Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board after the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case in November last year. The Supreme Court in its verdict in November last year had awarded the land to the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board.

Babri Masjid Demolition: Ex-judge refused security by Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to provide security to erstwhile special court Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav, who had delivered the verdict Babri demolition case in September at a CBI special court in Lucknow. All 32 accused in the demolition case, including eminent BJP members Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, were acquitted on September 30th.

60-years-old SK Yadav was to retire in 2019 but was granted an extension by the Supreme Court of India to attend the trial of the demolition case which he had been hearing since 2015. On his last working day, the former judge had delivered the verdict of the acquittal of all 32 accused.

“Anti-social elements brought down the structure. The accused leaders tried to stop these people,” he had said, emphasising that merely delivering a provocative speech was not sufficient enough to prove guilt.

“Having perused the letter dated September 30, we do not consider it necessary to continue (the) security,” the apex court stated on Monday morning. SK Yadav had sought extension of his personal security considering the sensitivity of the matter.

The hearings which involved testimonials of evidence from 351 CBI witnesses and about 600 exhibits had concluded on September 1 and the former judge had started writing the judgment from the very next day so as to adhere to the deadline assigned by the apex court.

Congress expects Governments to appeal against the Babri Masjid Case verdict by special CBI Court in Lucknow

Following the verdict of acquittal of all the accused in the Babri Masjid case by the special CBI Court of Lucknow, Congress expresses ‘Every Indian’s’ innate faith in Constitution and expects Central and state governments to appeal against the decision.

“Every Indian, who has innate faith in Constitution, expects Centre, state government to appeal against special court decision in Babri case,” Congress said in a statement.

Nearly thirty years after the Babri Masjid was razed by a mob in Uttar Pradesh, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Lucknow on Wednesday has acquitted all 32 involved, including BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, citing lack of evidence.

The court said there was no conclusive proof against the accused. “They have been acquitted for lack of evidence,” defence lawyer KK Mishra said in a statement. Twenty-six out of the 32 accused were present in the special court when the judgment was pronounced.

Several Ministers including UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have tweeted in support of the verdict saying those acquitted were wrongfully accused of the same. Whereas, AIMPLB secretary Zafaryab Jilani said that the judgment pronounced by the special CBI court in the Babri Demolition case is wrong.

Ravi Shankar Prasad visits Lal Krishna Advani’s residence soon after Babri Masjid demolition case verdict judgement

BJP leader and Union minister RS Prasad goes to LK Advani’s residence soon after the judgement.

Advani, who is 92 years old, and 86-year-old Joshi are exempt due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Singh is recovering from the infection.

The court will decide on two FIRs – 197/1992 and 198/1992, Bar and Bench report. The first FIR was against some unnamed karsevaks for demolishing the structure. The second FIR was against eight BJP leaders who allegedly initiated the demolition.

The court says the people who demolished the Babri mosque were “anti-national elements” and the accused people were trying to control the crowds.

The leaders who were at the site of the demolition were trying to stop the mob, the judgement says, according to News 18. The judge adds that stone-pelting started from behind the structure.

The special CBI court in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has acquitted all 32 accused in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case and said that it was not a criminal conspiracy. Citing the lack of evidence, CBI judge SK Yadav said in the judgement that there was “not enough evidence” to prove that the demolition was pre-planned.

The key accused in the case BJP veterans LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, former ministers Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh has skipped the hearing. They have been cleared of all charges, conspiracy, promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion and “prejudicial to national integration and injuring or defiling a place of worship”.

49 were accused in the case out of which 17 died during the trials.

The verdict comes nearly after three decades of the 1992 Masjid’s demolition. The communal riots in the year claimed around 2000 lives.

Today, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court will deliver the verdict on the Babri Masjid demolition case, nearly after three decades of the structure’s razing by a mob in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya town, which in turn caused communal riots and killed around 2000 people.

Accused Vinay Katiyar, Dharamdas, Vedanti, Lallu Singh, Champat Rai, and Pawan Pandey have arrived in the court.

CBI Judge S K Yadav has also arrived the in court. Total 32 people are accused in the case out of which, BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, former ministers Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh are the key ones. Uma Bharti has tested positive for Coronavirus and LK Advani, Murli Manohar & Nritya Gopal Das will skip hearing on the grounds of age & health.

The charges against the accused comprise of conspiracy, accused of promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion and “prejudicial to national integration and injuring or defiling a place of worship”.

There has been a high alert in Uttar Pradesh. Policemen in civil clothes will guard Ayodhya and 2,000 cops have been deployed at the building that houses the “Ayodhya Prakaran Court” in the Old High Court building in Lucknow. Reportedly, Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel have been assigned in 25 districts which are sensitive.

The CBI filed a charge sheet against 49 people in the case out of which 17 died during the trial. The court has statements of 351 prosecution witnesses.

Uma Bharati, COVID-19 positive & Hospitalised says, wants to appear for Babri Masjid Case Judgement at C.B.I Court in Lucknow

Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti,61, who has tested positive for the Coronavirus, took on to Twitter on Monday. Confirming that she has been admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh and has listed 3 reasons for the same. One of them being that she wants to be present in the C.B.I Court of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh for the mega verdict in the Babri Masjid case.

Uma Bharti is among the accused in the 28-year-old conspiracy of the demolition of the 16th century Babri Masjid, along with other BJP veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. A special CBI court in Lucknow will announce its decision on Wednesday.

“I just got admitted into the AIIMS hospital in Rishikesh. There are three reasons – (1) Dr Harsh Vardhan (Union Health Minister) is very worried, (2) My fever spiked last night and (3) If I get a good report from the hospital, then I want to appear before the special CBI court day after tomorrow,” Uma Bharti tweeted in Hindi.

The former Union Minister has been posting regular updates on her condition. She had shared earlier that she got herself tested as she experienced a fever for 3 days after a stint in the mountains and had quarantined herself near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.

Currently, a Ram temple is being built at the site after the Supreme Court last year delivered a landmark verdict, handing over the land claimed by both Hindus and Muslims for the construction of a temple and asking for a different site to be allotted for a mosque.

CBI special court will announce the verdict of the Babri Masjid Case on the 30th of September

In December 1992, the 15th Century Babri Masjid was demolished by a mob. Senior RSS and BJP leaders along with other right-wing leaders were accused of the conspiracy.

The Supre Court of India, in April 2017, had directed a special CBI court to conclude the investigations regarding the demolition in two years.

Now, in September 2020, the special court has finally completed its deliberations and the verdict will be out on the 30th of September.

Amongst the accused are former Deputy Prime Minister of India LK Advani, former BJP President Murli Manohar Joshi, Union Minister Uma Bharati, former Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh and 28 other accused including Kalyan Singh.
As per reports, all the accused have been asked to be present at the verdict which will be given by special CBI judge SK Yadav.

The arguments by the prosecution and defence concluded on the 1st of September and as per reports 351 witnesses and 600 documentary evidence were presented by the CBI in this case.
