Audi India is scheduled to introduce the updated RS Q8 SUV on February 17, 2025. A sportier version of the Q8, the RS Q8 facelift, was globally unveiled in June 2024. Exterior

The RS Q8 facelift features a refreshed single-frame grille with octagonal elements, revised Matrix LED headlamps, and a tweaked front bumper with a larger air cavity. Complementing its sporty stance are the updated 22-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

Inside, the cabin layout mirrors the standard Q8 but includes sportier upholstery dominated by a black theme. Premium materials and advanced tech ensure a luxurious and engaging driving experience.

Engine and Performance

The RS Q8 continues with its twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 592 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The Performance variant offers increased power, with 631 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. The standard RS Q8 accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds, while the Performance variant achieves the same in 3.6 seconds. Both variants have an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph, with optional upgrades up to 305 kmph in the global market.

Audi S5 gets major price hike of Rs 1.95 lakh

Audi India has announced a significant revision in the prices of its entire lineup, citing rising input and transportation costs as the key reasons for the price hike. The new prices reflect an increase of up to Rs. 1.95 lakh across various models in Audi’s range.

The Audi S5 sees the highest price increment, with an increase of up to Rs. 1.95 lakh. Following closely, the Audi Q5 witnesses a maximum price revision of Rs. 1.49 lakh. The price of the A4 sedan goes up by Rs. 1.32 lakh, while the Audi A6 sees an increment of Rs. 1.31 lakh.

In the SUV segment, the Audi Q3 also faces a price hike, with the Sportback variant increasing by Rs. 1.23 lakh, and the standard Q3 variant witnessing a price rise of Rs. 1.10 lakh. Meanwhile, the Audi Q7 sees the smallest price hike, with an increase of just Rs. 4,000 for both its variants.

Audi India sees 26.7% YoY decline in decline in 2024 sales

Audi India ended 2024 with 5,816 retail sales, marking a 26.7% decline from 7,931 units in 2023. Despite facing supply challenges in the first half of the year, the brand showed remarkable resilience, bouncing back in Q4 with 1,927 units sold—its best quarter of 2024 and a 36% growth compared to Q3.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, highlighted that continued demand reflected the strong trust customers place in the brand. Audi’s pre-owned car division, Audi Approved, saw a 32% growth, slightly slower than 2023’s 62%, but continued expanding with new facilities, including its largest pre-owned showroom in Northeast India (Guwahati) and a new facility in Mangalore, bringing the total to 26 nationwide.

Audi India recalls e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT over battery fire risk

Audi India has issued a voluntary recall for 31 units of its e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT electric vehicles, manufactured between January 9, 2020, and February 16, 2024. This recall is due to potential irregularities in the high-voltage battery module, which could result in a fire hazard. The affected vehicles may have individual cell modules within the battery pack that display technical issues, leading to overheating and posing an acute risk of fire.

Audi has identified that certain battery modules, supplied by a third-party vendor, may have manufacturing irregularities. If these issues arise, there is a possibility of the battery overheating, which could endanger the occupants of the vehicle, those nearby, and even cause property damage.

The e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT are completely built units (CBU) in India, and Audi is expected to notify affected customers directly to resolve the issue. Audi India has emphasized that the recall is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its customers.

Audi India has announced a price increase of up to 3% on its entire lineup, effective January 1, 2025. The German luxury carmaker attributes this adjustment to rising input costs, aligning with similar moves by its competitors.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, stated, “We are implementing a price adjustment of up to 3% effective from 1st January 2025 due to rising input costs. This correction is essential for Audi India and our dealer partners to ensure sustainable growth. We remain committed to minimising the impact of the price hike on our valued customers.”

Audi’s diverse portfolio in India includes popular sedans like the A4, A6, and sporty models such as the RS5 Sportback and S5 Sportback. Its SUV range features the Q3, Q3 Sportback, Q5 Sportback, and the flagship RS Q8. Audi’s electric lineup, including the Q8 e-tron, Q8 Sportback e-tron, e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT, further strengthens its premium offerings.

The year 2025 has been eventful for Audi India, marked by significant launches. Audi India recently unveiled the Q8 facelift in India, with a starting price of Rs 1.17 crore. The modified SUV stays mechanically unchanged, but it receives minor cosmetic updates and extra features.

Audi Q8 facelift features

The new headlights, which are HD Matrix LED units with laser help for the high beam, are the biggest modification to the facelift. It also has configurable light signatures. The air intakes in the bumper have also been modified and the grille has undergone minor changes with new octagonal apertures and “L” shaped inserts.

The interiors are nearly identical to the previous vehicle, with just changed stitching on the upholstery and new inside colour options. The Audi Q8 facelift had a worldwide debut in September 2023, with just minor changes. The German luxury automobile brand, owned by Volkswagen AG, is preparing to launch a new version of the SUV in India. The Audi Q8 facelift is set to debut in India on August 22. The teaser video released by Audi India focuses on the lighting features of the upcoming Q8 facelift. A new Bold Edition of the Q3 and Q3 Sportback has been recently introduced by Audi India for the Indian market. The prices are ₹55.71 lakh and ₹54.65 lakh, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom. The Bold Edition just gets cosmetic modifications, such as blacked-out badges and a dual-tone colour scheme for the alloy wheels. Furthermore, the SUVs have a black appearance option. Audi has also announced that the Bold Edition of the Q3 and Q3 Sportback will be offered in limited units.

The Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback were both sleek-looking SUVs, but the Bold Edition gave them a more aggressive appearance. Audi’s Black style package for SUVs features a gloss black grille, black Audi emblems in the front and back, black window surrounds and ORVM caps, and black roof rails.

Both SUVs feature 18-inch alloy wheels, with the Sportback having a unique design compared to the standard Q3. The Q3 SUVs also feature LED headlights and taillights.

The same 2-litre TFSI engine that powers the standard variant also powers the Q3 and Q3 Sportback Bold models. It generates 320 Nm of torque and 190hp. Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system provides power to all four wheels.

The Q3 and Q3 Sportback’s interiors are still packed with features such as Audi’s MMI infotainment system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and multi-colour ambient lighting. A 180W sound system with 10 speakers and a wireless charger are also included.

Audi India to hike prices of all models from June 2024

German automaker Audi announced on Thursday that, to offset the effects of rising input and transportation expenses, it will increase the prices of its model range in India by up to 2% starting in June. The automaker announced in a statement that the price hike will be effective from June 01, 2024.

He explained that the price change is intended to ensure the automaker’s and its dealer partners’ long-term success.

“It’s our endeavour that the impact of rising costs is as minimal as possible for our customers,” Dhillon stated.

In FY24, Audi India sold 7,027 cars, representing a 33 per cent increase in overall sales.

The company sells models such as the A4, Q3, Q5 and RS Q8 in India.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Audi A3 facelift, which showcased the modifications to the beloved vehicle, was officially unveiled in March. Audi wants to maintain the A3 as popular as it can with upgraded standard features, new interior materials and updated appearance.

Despite its global popularity, Audi announced that the A3 would not return to the Indian market. The Q2 replaced the A3, which was once a favourite among Indian buyers. The A4 sedan is now Audi’s entry-level offering in the nation.

Audi RS5 Sportback launched in India at Rs 1.04 crore

German car manufacturer Audi India introduced the new Audi RS5 Sportback in the country on August 9. The updated model is priced at Rs. 1.04 crore.

Unlike the previous model, the new RS5 comes with a four-door Sportback. The model uses a twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 444bhp and 600Nm of torque. According to CarWaale, the car has eight gear automatic transmission and can sprint from 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 250kmph.

Coming to its exterior design, the new model has a redesigned wider single-frame grille, matrix LED headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, and split LED taillights.

The interior has also been revamped. The RS5 Sportback is now equipped with a 10-inch infotainment cluster, panoramic sunroof and three-zone climate control. The driver also gets a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster.

According to The Financial Express, the Audi RS5 Sportback will be competing against the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-AMG C63 in the Indian market. Other Audi models expected to be launched soon include the all-new Q3, the Q5 and the Q7 SUVs. The all-new A3 compact sedan is also expected to be launched in India. Expect the convertible A3 to arrive as well like before.

Audi India has finally launched a long waiting model Audi S5 Sportback on Monday, March 22. Audi S5 Sportback is launched at Exclusive Showroom Price of 79.06 Lakhs. Audi S5 Sportback is the second launch of Audi India in 2021. The car is powered by 349 bhp 3.0 litre turbo-petrol engine.

Comparing to the model launched in 2017, this new model have new Matrix LED headlights as standard, LED tail-lights, a larger rear spoiler redesigned bumpers, blacked-out version of the single-frame grille and new 19-inch alloy wheels.

Key Changes have been made to the Audi S5 Sportback’s interior with the rotary dial for operating the infotainment being done away with and replaced with a 10.1-inch touchscreen for the MMI infotainment system, which accepts voice commands.

The new model also adds a 12.3-inch ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instruments display, sport seats up front and a three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel. This new model can reach 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds.

German luxury carmaker Audi has launched the Audi RS Q8, its latest and flagship performance SUV in India on Thursday with the price starting at Rs 2.07 crore.

Speaking on the occasion Audi India head Balbir Singh Dhillion said,” it’s an all-in-one model that is at home in the rough as it is hard on the racetrack.. we are confident that the Audi RS Q8 will have a magnetic pull for luxury sports cars aficionados.”

The RS Q8 has a turbo 4-litre petrol engine paired with an eight-speed torque-converter automatic. It can get from 0 to 100 kmph within less than 4 seconds and can deliver a power of 600hp. Other features include all-wheel steering, Audi’s virtual cockpit, Quattro AWD with a self- locking differential, sport adaptive air suspension, the cylinder on demand (COD) technology that turns off cylinders when lesser power is needed, among other standard attributes.

The RS Q8 is also equipped with an air purifying system, four-zone climate control with notable interior features such as dual-screen MMI infotainment system, perforated RS Sport leather steering wheel and seats with RS embossing. Dhillion also said that they will add more exciting new models to India enhancing the celebration of the festive season.

Bookings for the same have already begun and can be done online on the Audi India website or at dealerships. The booking price is Rs 15 lakhs
