When Aishwarya Rai sued a magazine for claiming Raveena Tandon caught her with Akshay Kumar

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the Bollywood diva, is among the most beautiful actresses in Indian cinema history. She was a leading lady of her era, regardless of whether we focus on her beauty or acting prowess. Rajkumar Santoshi brought together a star-studded cast for his neo-noir action movie Khakee in 2004. Stars like Tusshar Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni, Prakash Raj, Tanuja, Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Amitabh Bachchan are among the film’s cast members. Although the movie was a financial success, viewers fell in love with Akshay and Aishwarya primarily due to their on-screen romance. However, everything took a drastic turn when an industry-shattering article about Akshay and Aishwarya was published in the renowned celebrity magazines Star and Style.

Aishwarya Rai discussed the controversial event during her appearance on Karan Johar’s celebrity conversation programme Koffee With Karan. The incident occurred during the making of Khakee, and it was stated by Star and Style magazine that she was caught red-handed by Raveena with Akshay. Aishwarya disclosed the whole episode and said she sued the magazine for publishing such an untrue account of her and Akshay. Aishwarya withheld the identity of the actress whom Raveena exposed as having slept with Akshay. She recalled the same thing, saying, “Well, at the very beginning of my career, I was very furious, and I had taken, Star and Style to court, because they had carried an article when the whole world knew who it was and not me. But it was presented that I was caught with Akshay Kumar (laughs), and Raveena had come and apparently blasted me when it was absolutely untrue. Everybody knew who that was; it wasn’t me.”

Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor’s political series ‘City of Dreams’ is all geared up to release its second season on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on July 30. The Hotstar series features actors Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat, retreating as father-daughter duo Ameya Rao Gaikwad and Poornima Gaikwad.

The trailer reveals how Poornima (Priya) and Ameya (Atul) get into a head-on crash as they tussle over political power. The fight gets nasty as we see back-stabbing, double-crossing and bloodshed in great detail, the latest season will also showcase Poornima’s fight against patriarchy as she “locks horns with her father, to gain control over the chief minister position”.

Calling her on screed personality “inspiring and admirable”, Priya explained she was thrilled how her part appealed to the audience, particularly women, who found her “empowering”.

Poornima keeps on battling the patriarchal system of politics to gain power over the state. She shuts horns with her father as the two put various lives at risk while the state sets up for elections. As per the trailer, Poornima is the interim Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the head of Maharashtra Jan Shakti Party (MJS). She gets assistance from Wasim Khan and retired state chief Jagdish Gurav.

City of Dreams first debuted on the web in May 2019. The political drama hit the OTT platform, the series will now premiere its second season on Disney Plus Hotstar on July 30. While Sachin Pilgaonkar and Eijaz Khan and reprise their characters, actor Sushant Singh is the new part of the series.

Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘City of Dreams’, a political drama series is all set to be back on Disney+Hotstar on July 30. The Hotstar Special casts Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bopat in pivotal roles and will play father-daughter as Ameya Rao Gaikwad and Poornima Gaikwad.

Expressing his excitement Atul Kulkarni said, “Ameya Rao Gaikwad is a special character for me and I am delighted that audiences get to see more of him, and his story. There’s an almost sinister quality to him that makes his desire and resolve to hold a position of power is stronger than his sense of family bonds. If the brother-sister battle for politics season-2 was shrewd, then father vs daughter tussle in City of Dreams Season 2 is going to be doubly intense,” via ANI.

Priya Bapat also talked about her character and said, “Poornima Gaikwad is inspiring and admirable, and it has been heartening to see how the character has applied to the audiences, especially women who found her empowering. In the second season, audiences will see an even more daring grittier and determined Poornima whose political ambitions take precedence over anything else,” via ANI.

She further added, ” I am very proud to be essaying such a strong female role who drives the narrative of the show, shatters stereotypes and fights against all odds to strive in a male-dominated world.
