Tejas Networks partners with MahaIT to train telecom engineers in Maharashtra

Tejas Networks has entered into a strategic partnership with the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Limited (MahaIT) to enhance the skills of engineering students in emerging telecom technologies across Maharashtra. The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the ‘TechMahaImpacT 2026’ conclave in Mumbai, attended by prominent figures including Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and IT Minister Ashish Shelar.

MahaIT, the nodal agency for implementing ICT initiatives in Maharashtra, aims to leverage this partnership to provide world-class training and certification to students, particularly in underserved regions. The initiative will focus on online and instructor-led training programmes, targeting students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This collaboration also seeks to explore joint efforts in skilling, industry-academia engagement, and technology-driven capacity building.

Sanjay Katkar, Managing Director of MahaIT, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its potential to accelerate the training of telecommunication engineers in the state. He noted that Tejas Networks, a key technology supplier for significant national projects like BSNL 4G/5G and BharatNet, is an ideal partner for this initiative.

Arnob Roy, Managing Director and CEO of Tejas Networks, emphasised the importance of skilled engineering talent in achieving Maharashtra’s vision of becoming a trillion-dollar economy. He reiterated the company’s commitment to enhancing the employability and industry readiness of young engineers through high-quality skilling programmes.

Sunil Handoo, Vice President (Sales) of Tejas Networks, praised MahaIT’s ICT initiatives for positioning Maharashtra as a leader in digital governance. He expressed pride in contributing to these efforts by helping to develop a future-ready engineering workforce in the state.
