Vivek Oberoi’s Wife, Priyanka Alva served notice due to her brother’s involvement in Sandalwood Drug Case

Ever since the investigation of Sandalwood Drug case has been started, Vivek Oberoi‘s brother-in-law, Aditya Alva has been on the run as the CCB eyed him as the one who maintained a close relationship with the main suspect of the case. Due to this, CCB also ended up searching the Mumbai residence of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi this Thursday, i.e. 15th October, after they had intel of Aditya hiding there. However, the investigating team did not get anything.

According to an ANI report, Vivek’s wife, Priyanka Alva has served notice by CCB due to her brother, Aditya’s involvement in the drug case. ANI has made a tweet via their official Twitter account that Priyanka Alva has been served a notice. Their tweet reads, “City Crime Branch Bengaluru serves notice to Priyanka Alva Oberoi over links with brother Adithya Alva in connection with Sandalwood drug case. #Karnataka CCB raided actor Vivek Oberoi’s Mumbai residence in search of his relative Aditya Alva in connection with the case y’day.”

Aditya is being chased after his name was revealed in the investigation of the case and it was also found that he was sharing a close bond with the main accused of the Sandalwood case.

Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru Police in Karnataka has taken total 13 people into the custody alleging their involvement in Sandalwood drug racket including actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjana Galrani. As per the recent development in the matter, CCB has raided Aditya Alva’s residence named ‘House of Lives’ in connection with the same case. Aditya is son of Jeevaraj Alva who was former Chief Minister of Karnataka and also brother-in-law of actor Vivek Oberoi.

City court had sent Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi and a few accused to a 14-day judicial custody on 14th September whereas the police remand of actress Sanjjana Galrani was extended by three days as per a report by Zoom. According to CCB, Sanjjana’s friend Rahul Ranka and apparently a drug peddler Loum Pepper Samba were also taken into the custody in previous week. A few older reports also suggested that actress Sanjjana did not want to undergo dope test and created a ruckus in the hospital. CCB is investigating the matter thoroughly.

Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi and 11 others from the South film industry have come under the scanner in the biggest drug scandal. Central Crime Branch (CCB) recently detained Ragini and also searched her home thoroughly in Bengaluru after she failed to appear before the police on Thursday. Now as per a latest report in Sandalwood drug racket, Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law Aditya Alva has also been named in connection with the case. Among the other 12 people, Aditya, the son of late legislator Jeevaraj Alva and danseuse Nandini Alva is named in FIR. However, he has not been apprehended yet and there is no official statement regarding the same by the officials.

We have filed a suo motu FIR (first information report) at the Cottonpet police station in the city against Ragini and others, including drug peddlers Shivaprakash, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Shetty and party planner Viren Khanna for their drug links in the Kannada film industry,” city joint commissioner of police Sandeep Patil disclosed to the reporters. Reportedly, the accused have been booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and 120b of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

While Ragini and Shetty have been detained for further questioning in the drug case, Ravi Shankar, a clerk in the state road transport office has been remanded to a 5-day judicial custody.

Others named in the case are party organiser Viren Khanna, businessman Prashanth Ranka, Vaibhav Jain, Aditya Alva, African drug supplier Loum Pepper Samba, Prashanth Raju, Ashwin, Abhiswami, Rahul Tonse and Vinay.

We have also seized 2.1 litres of hash oil and 2 kg of weed oil from the trio – Jashin, Subramani and Vidush,” Assistant Commissioner of Police P.K. Gowtham told IANS.
