And precautionary measures like wearing a mask in public have been made a mandate.

As of now, schools are to continue and further guidance upon discussion with the experts as to how to contain further spread of the infectious virus on campuses will be shared later this week.

The meeting chaired by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority also considered whether to establish testing booths to pace up vaccination drives in the capital. As COVID-19 cases have risen in the capital in the past few days with the daily count rising to 26% yesterday when compared to the day before yesterday.

Health practitioners and Doctors alike have forewarned the public that cases are on the rise and will continue to rise in the coming weeks. This mandate in Delhi comes after the Uttar Pradesh government, noticed a surge in cases and made it a mandate to wear a mask in public gatherings in Lucknow.

Just 3 weeks ago the Delhi Disaster Management Authority saw a drop in cases and had not fined the public for not wearing masks, however with the surge in cases, the mandate is back in place along with a fine of ₹ 500 to people not following the mandate in crowded places.
