The much-anticipated Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway has taken a significant step forward as NKC Projects begins work on Package 1 from the Varanasi Ring Road side. Currently, earthwork is in progress, marking the start of what is set to be a transformational infrastructure project for Eastern India.

This six-lane, access-controlled expressway will cover 610 km, dramatically reducing travel time between Varanasi and Kolkata to approximately seven hours—a major improvement from the current 12-14 hours. The project is part of India’s ambitious highway expansion plan, aiming to boost connectivity, trade, and economic growth in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
