Bhartiya Janta Party is going to create history in Uttarakhand, the ruling party of the state is all repeat government for the first time in Uttarakhand. Never before today had any ruling party repeated its government in the state.
The counting of votes for the 70-member Uttarakhand legislature is still going on.
The votes on the ballot paper were counted first, and the EVMs are now being counted. Exit polls anticipated a neck-and-neck race between the BJP and the Congress, which appears to be happening in earlier trends.
However, BJP has taken a comfortable lead over its near rival Congress. As per the Election Commission of India’s website, BJP has already won 20 seats and is leading on 27 seats. If we combine these figures, BJP is way ahead of the majority mark. On the other hand, Congress has won 6 seats and is leading on 13 seats while BSP is leading on 1 seat and independents are leading on 2 seats.
While the major struggle is between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, the rookie Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also thrown its hat into the ring in an attempt to gain traction in the hill state. However, it doesn’t stop the BJP’s victory juggernaut.
Along with this, vote counting is also going on in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Manipur. AAP has got a majority in Punjab while BJP has got the majority in Uttar Pradesh and leading in Goa and Manipur.
