The Indo-US Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) has commenced on Monday. The 2+2 meeting between the US Defence Secretary Mark T Esper and Secretary of State Michael R Pompeo with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has been highly crucial for the defence strategy for both the nation.
After the 2+2 meeting, Mark Esper and Michael Pompeo on Tuesday will jointly have a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval.
The agreement is being seen as a strong reinforcement of the bilateral relationship and will allow India access to US geospatial intelligence and automated systems.
