SRM establishes MoU with Defence Services Staff College

The MoU between the Defence Services Staff College and a private educational institution is the first of its type.


On Tuesday, the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) and the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellingdon, a Ministry of Defence school, inked a Memorandum of Understanding.

According to a press release from SRMIST. The MoU will allow DSSC officers to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees at the institute in areas. Such as defence and strategic studies, disaster management, communication, economics, international relations. As well as logistics, cyber warfare, electronics, weapon technology, and defence budgeting.

According to Lt. Gen. S. Mohan, this is the first agreement of its kind. Between the DSSC and a private educational school. “We will explore further academic prospects with SRMIST in the future,” he stated.

C. Muthamizhchelvan, vice-chancellor of SRMIST, highlighted the opportunities that the MoU will provide, as well as the fact that the institute had set aside five seats for the wards of those serving in the Indian Navy.
