Singhu Border Violence: Man who attacked SHO gets arrested; total 44 arrested

On Friday, tension began at noon when hundreds of local villagers reached Singhu border and demanded the protestors to vacate the protesting area which in turn led to a clash with protesting farmers and prompted police to use tear gas. Further, police did baton charge to break up the clash at Singhu border which turned violent with people hurling stones at each other.

After the violence, a photo went viral on social media in which SHO Pradeep Paliwal was attacked by a goon, who was overpowered and had a sword in his hand. The SHO sustained grievous injuries and five other police personnel were also injured.

Then after, Delhi police arrested 44 people for the violence, who were claimed as local residents. However, protesting farmers claimed that those who visited the protest side were not locals but were goons.

Delhi Police also arrested 22-year-old Ranjeet Singh, who attacked SHO of Alipur, Pradeep Paliwal with a sword and charged him with the attempt to murder and obstructing public event.
