Rajkot fire incident: State government announces assistance of Rs. 4 lakh for deceased

The tragic fire incident in Gujarat’s Rajkot has sent shock waves throughout the country. The massive fire broke out on Saturday evening at around 4.30 PM. It has been reported that at least 24 people have died due to it, which also includes several children.

In wake of the incident, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took to his official X handle, formerly known as Twitter, to write condolences to the people who have lost their loved ones. His post added, “The state government will provide Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.”

The CM also noted that in order to ensure that such tragic incident are not repeated, he has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which shall be assigned to investigate the entire incident.

The CM and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has a telephonic conversation regarding the massive fire being engulfed in Rajkot. The latter also mentioned that the chief minister has assured him of every necessary help required at the incident site.

Patel also said that the PM has pushed him thoroughly investigate the whole incident.
