On the occasion of National Sports Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to pay tribute to the sportspersons who have contributed to the field of sports and made India proud as well as highlight the importance of sports and fitness in daily routine. In a series of tweets, he also emphasised on the efforts the government has made to popularise sports in the country and the support it has extended to budding youngsters.
“#NationalSportsDay is day to celebrate the remarkable achievements of all those exemplary sportspersons who have represented India in various sports and made our nation proud,” he said.
He also stressed on the efforts India is making to support and popularise the sports and urged people to take up sports and fitness as part of daily rutine which is beneficial to our health.
Government of India is making numerous efforts to popularise sports and support sporting talent in India. At the same time, I urge everyone to make sports and fitness exercises a part of their daily routine. There are many benefits of doing so. May everyone be happy and healthy!
