Will India’s coolest captain join the BJP?; speculation continues

Post Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket, politicians across the nation suggested him of making a political debut.

Former central minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Paswan said to a media source that Dhoni can join the party and there has been a discussion on the issue for long. “On this issue, there has been a discussion for long, although this decision will be taken only after his retirement,” he said.

BJP chief Amit Shah had visited the cricket legend while working towards BJP’s “Sampark for Samarthan” program ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

In an interview last year BJP leader JP Nadda had stated that’ All are welcome’. From then to date there is no confirmed response about Dhoni joining the party. Mahendra Singh Dhoni may enter politics to score his new innings in team NaMo.Dhoni hasn’t made any statements so far.

The elections in Dhoni’s home state Jharkhand are scheduled to take place later this year. It is believed that Dhoni may even be the chief ministerial face of the BJP in the coming Jharkhand polls.
