Telangana Election 2023: 63.94% voting till 5 pm, Exit Polls gives Congress an edge over BRS

63.94% voting has been recorded till 5 pm in Telangana Assembly elections. Earlier, till 3 pm, 51.89 percent voting had taken place. Voting percentage was slow in the morning.

Voting for 119 assembly seats of Telangana took place on Thursday, November 30. Voters including actors and politicians reacged polling stations closed to their residence in large numbers to exercise their franchise. Voting started at 7 am, that lasted till 5 pm.

35,655 polling stations have been set up across the state for voting. A total of 2,290 candidates contested the elections in Telangana. The contest is mainly between BRS, Congress and BJP.

Till 1 pm, only 36.68 percent was recorded. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), 20.64 percent voting was recorded till 11 am. At 9 am, only 8.52 percent of voting took place.

All the big political personalities and film stars also exercised their franchise. State Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter and MLC Kavitha, Telangana government minister and BRS MLA KT Rama Rao voted along with his wife Shailima. Congress candidate Azharuddin from Jubilee Hills seat cast his vote along with his family.

 

Apart from them, film celebrities including actor Ram Charan, wife Upasana Kamineni, actor Vijay Deverakonda and actor Naga Chaitanya also voted. Common people also voted enthusiastically from morning till 5:00 pm.

Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy worshipped the cow in the morning and then cast his vote.

KCR’s ruling BRS has fielded candidates on all 119 seats in Telangana. Under the seat sharing agreement, BJP is contesting elections on 111 seats. Jana Sena led by actor Pawan Kalyan is contesting the remaining 8 seats. Whereas, Congress is contesting elections on 118 seats. Whereas, Congress has given one seat to its ally, Communist Party of India (BKP).

After the elections took place in Telangana, all the television news channels showed their exit polls, in which, most of the channels telecasted a lead of Congress over BRS in the elections.
