Sardar Patel Jayanti: Home Minister Amit Shah flags off ‘Run for Unity’ in Delhi

Apart from Delhi, Run for Unity has been organized in many parts of the country including Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Goa, Srinagar, Gurugram and Cuttack in which many dignitaries were present.

On the second day of his visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the great freedom fighter and Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary in Kevadiya and visited the Statue of Unity. At the same time, in Major Dhyanchand Stadium, Delhi, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’. During this, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena were also present.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Lucknow, State Home Minister Harsh Singhvi in Ahmedabad, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Cuttack flagged off the Run for Unity.

On Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Unity and prosperity of India was the sole aim of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s life. With his rock-solid willpower, political wisdom and hard work, he worked to make India, divided into more than 550 princely states, a united nation. Sardar Saheb’s dedicated life to the nation and nation-building work as the country’s first Home Minister will always inspire us. Tributes to Iron Man Sardar Patel ji on his birth anniversary and best wishes to all the countrymen on ‘National Unity Day’.”
