‘Prior engagements…’: Mahua Moitra seeks more time to appear before Ethics Committee

Mahua Moitra has also claimed and expressed her concerns over Ethics Committee’s report getting Live on television before getting emailed to her.

In the alleged case of “cash for query,” the Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has sought time to appear before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee due to her “prior engagements.” Mahua Moitra has also claimed and expressed her concerns over Ethics Committee’s report getting Live on television before getting emailed to her.

In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), TMC MP Mahua Moitra shared her two-page-long statement and wrote:’ Chairman, Ethics Comm announced my 31/10 summons on live TV way before official letter emailed to me at 19:20 hrs. All complaints & suo moto affidavits also released to media. I look forward to deposing immediately after my pre- scheduled constituency programmes end on Nov 4.”

Amid all this, BJP MP Dr Nishikant Dubey attacked TMC MP Mahua Moitra by saying: “Mahua with a degree who mortgaged the country’s security for a few rupees, has the following language — 1. Calling MPs bastards in Parliament 2. Bihari Gunda 3. Jharkhandi dog. This is English culture. She herself admitted that she gave the official mail ID and password to Hiranandani. Will Dawood Ibrahim’s friends save India now?”

Recently, Nishikant Dubey had alleged that Mahua Moitra had taken money from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament. After this, Hiranandani’s affidavit came out. In this he said that in the case of Adani Group, money was given to Moitra to tarnish the image of PM Modi.
